  1. Opposite from you, my husband work schedule only allow us to travel during this time of year. 😀.

You only need sweaters only in NOLA. Summer dresses will be perfect.

Do take some raincoat with you because we seems to run into little rain every cruise for the past 3 years. Nothing major, just a little sprinkle here and there.

You will have a great time.

  2. Thank you so much for the review.

    Couple of questions,

    1. Is the smoking area on Lido deck on port side or starboard side?

    2. Seems like you are frequent in cozumel, do you have any recommendation for restaurant around the Port area for a good seafood platter that will not cost me a whole paycheck and actually taste good?

    3. Have you ever visit Carlos and Charlie beach club which is right next door to paradise beach? If you did, how was your experience? I have 2 little kids so tequila line is not attractive to me but it also mean less kids in the restaurant as well as in the water.

    Thank you

  3. It was the Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach Resort that I booked through Resort for a Day.com. But that was Freeport, Bahamas. If you are going to Montego Bay, that's a completely different island and completely different itinerary! :D

Apparently, I mixed Freeport and Falmouth. 17 more days to go but my brain is already on vacation. 😆

  4. Our ports were ok. We didn't really choose the cruise for the ports anyway. We booked our Key West excursion (para-sailing) directly with the vendor that Carnival uses and saved $30/person. In Freeport, we went to an all-inclusive resort that offered day passes -- the beach was beautiful, and drinks and a buffet were included. We did a dolphin excursion in Nassau on Balmoral Island. That was fun, and it was booked through Carnival. The little island itself is crowded with ship tourists and excrutiatingly overpriced ($5 for a bottle of Dasani? $16 for a cheeseburger?).

All in all, we would definitely go again. In fact, we are already booked for June 2018. No, we didn't book onboard.

Do you mind sharing with me which AI resort that you booked in Freeport?? We will sail in 2 weeks and I still have yet to decide which resort I want to book with for the day pass. We will be docking in Montego Bay.

  5. We are taking our 3 year olds to the Grand Palladium though a day pass. The resort has large pools, a nice beach, no vendors, towels, and an amazing toddler splash area with tons of slides that end in a pool of water less than 12' deep. Plus, children under 4 are free!

Sorry...I missed the NOT all inclusive part!

How did you like Grand palladium with toddler? We are leaving in 3 weeks and still can't decide which AI resort to pick from MoBay cruise port? Just afraid that I won't get back to the cruise in time.

  6. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I have a 1030 arrival time selected, but there are later ones available...I think we will opt to show up after 1230 or so...

I have 2 small children (2 and 5). I usually picked the arrive time around 12:30 pm so I don't have to wait long to get into the room. I know from the first cruise that my kids want to get into the water as soon as we get on the cruise but we usually cruise in December so that is not even an option.

  7.

I will be at Sunscape Splash Resort next week while cruising on the Breeze. I will follow this thread and post some pictures and thoughts once I return from my trip.

The last time we were in MoBay, we did the Hilton Rose Hall and had a great time. It was actually booked for a group of 150 of us and I think we might have been the only guests other than the ones staying at the hotel. That is another good option if you decide to not do Splash.

I'll be back with some photos!

    Deb

Did you end up going to sunscape splash? I will going to Mobay in December and still haven't decide which resort I should get a day pass from yet so your opinion will help a lot.

    Thanks.

  8. We will be sailing on December 17th, did anyone that has montego bay stop did the day pass for resort? I need some review on sunscape splash. I tried to do the search and most of the reviews are couple of years old so I would love to hear from someone who were just there recently.

    Thank you

  9. A shuttle is not included if you book the AI pass through resortforaday.com? I booked Sunscape Splash through them and a shuttle for all 5 of us is included in our AI price.

Did you enjoy sunscape splash? I have 2 small kids so might not be able to stay the whole 7 hours that the tour stated and might have to take the taxi back earlier. We are debating between sunscape and Hilton rose hall.

  10. I'm in a similar boat. Mine will be 3 and 4 years old, and the minimum age for most of the excursions we found is at least 6 years old. Can you recommend a nice (not too expensive) resort for a family day pass?

    Hey, Heather

We booked with resortforaday. We choose sunscape splash because it's only 5 mins to Port so if my kids feel tried before the pick up time from the company, we can just take a cab back to the Port.

  11. Not sure if you already booked this, but we will be booking through Resort for a Day. It is $10 more per person than through the actual resort itself, however it also includes transportation which is worth it in my opinion!

Where do you find the info regarding the price from the resort itself? I don't see them on the website any where. I want to know about the kids price and ages.

  12. Does anyone know the price if I try to purchase from the resort itself instead of going through resort for a day??? I love that they include transportation but I have small kids (2 and 5) so we might not be able to stay the 7 hours. We are usually done after 4 hours.

  13. On the website Jaital.com, they have the option of taxi/private transfer to Rose Hall and other resorts.

Ultimately, the cost will be the same if you buy through RFAD (includes transport) or Rose Hall plus transport. I would go with RFAD for less headache figuring it out.

Thank you for respond. But I have 2 and 5 year old, RFAD is charging my 5 year old $74 but if we buy the day pass directly from the Hilton itself, he is free.

  14. We are 6 people planning to get day passes for the Hilton.

Can 6 people fit in 1 taxi or will we have to get two?

From what I read, taxi is per person...so If I am understanding correctly..At about $10 pp, a round trip ride for 6 of us will cost $120 or more for this 15-20 min drive? That seems insane to me. So do you think the taxis will negotiate a price or do they just get what they ask for?

I'm quite sure its not difficult getting a taxi leaving the port but how is it getting a return taxi from the Hilton?

If we go through rfad, it will cost $705 to go to the resort, if we buy direct, $510.

I appreciate hearing your experience. Thanks in advance!!

Can you let me know what did you end up doing with transportation? We are planning to go there this December and didn't like to be there that long because I have a 2 year old which probably need a nap after 3-4 hours playing in the water so we are planning to buy direct from the resort and take a taxi.

  15. We will have a 4 kids with us. 9 years, 7 years, 2 years, and 7 months. What would be good to do since we have two smaller kiddos too?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

we will there in December and we have small kids as well. I am looking at turtle falls river and garden but can't seem to find transportation to get there.
  16. Anyone have more information about how to get to this place from the Port? I have 2 young kids and this place is suit us more than any other place but I can't seem to find much information about transportation or tour.

    Thank you in advance.
