If this works, I would expect NCL to add you to the "Do Not Sail" list and not allow you to sail with them again. It's happened before... https://www.elliott.org/blog/do-not-sail-list-banned-from-cruising/
Not saying that you're already planning on doing that, but I figured someone should say it just in case someone does this inadvertently and plans to use NCL in the future.

Disney cruise lines just announced canceling all of their cruises till April.
Now the spotlight is on RCL, carnival, and NCL to see if they will follow suit.
i predict Carnival will be next to follow because Princess.
and heaven help NCL's stock price if they announce this
My Roth IRA is ready...

I do feel kind of bad for the NCL brass. They were flying high just a month ago and now everything has turned on it's head. The stock price has fallen ~80% in one month and their source of revenue is going to locked indoors, with none of it their doing.

Royal's stock took a big dive yesterday. I think NCL is trading near their 52 week low, also.
I don't think they're in any danger of Chapter 7. They came out of the financial recession OK, and that was a much tougher, longer lasting issue.
Now, if you're asking whether you can get your money for the fees you paid and the gratuities, that's an entirely different question. I don't think they'd want to punish the crew by withholding their gratuities, which will take a dive given the cancellations everyone seems to be hell bent on making.
52 week low? How about an all-time low and continuing to nose dive.

Sounds like this is karma for possible other comments regarding "little helpers" in the past. It's common knowledge what the penalties are for cancelling. It's your responsibility to know them when you sign a contract.

So you messed up, didn't understand the rules and NCL should lose money.... Entitled much? Next time understand the rules of international travel and stop blaming anyone but yourself.

You could keep the inside and always bid on a balcony later.

The French restaurant was full. The steakhouse was full. The American restaurant was totally empty.
So, they could put up 20 big TV's, put on 20 totally different American sporting events, turn the volumes up to 12 on all of them, and all the people who like to drink beer and eat wings and wear their caps backwards could congregate there and talk at the tops of their voices without disturbing ANYONE else. Maybe then people could actually get a turn in a hot tub, and some peace and quiet.
It would be perfect. For everyone.
But how else would we interfere with your vacation. God forbid other people enjoy something you don't.
Plus it makes sense why that place is a ghost town. Most Americans sailing can go to the buffet to get burgers, hotdogs, etc. Why go to a specialty restaurant to do it? It's a wasted space for sure.

Just got off the Joy sailing 9/7-9/14 and there was football on all day Sunday, Monday night and Thursday night.

Teppy, Los lobos and toss up between La cuchina and cagneys. Cagneys wasn't very good last time we sailed but we're giving it another shot this time around.

I asked NCL for a favor, and they refused, which left me disappointed. Below is the link for the policy wording of my travel insurance. The coverage is fairly elaborate, but it is clear that I have no coverage for pre-existing conditions on this trip, and no coverage for Trip Cancellation, as I am physically able to travel. I cancelled my trip because I would rather lose $6500 now than take the chance of losing a much larger amount of money (potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars). That is the long and short of this whole matter. https://www.bmo.com/pdf/World_Elite_Cardholder_Agreement.pdf
So since you are okay with favors can you pay for my next cruise as a favor? If you don't I'll be super disappointed even though you're not legally obligated to do so and post about it on a message board.

Don't stress over every little thing. Enjoy your time away.

I still find it fascinating how people's misunderstanding of how debit cards vs credit cards work. You're gonna lose the dispute because you couldn't wait until your girlfriend was able to show you the itemized bill. Of course your bank is gonna say it's the cruise fair... They have no clue other than it shows up as NCL charges. They don't get a breakdown on how you spent it.

Some jerks are delaying us taking off because they probably missed muster.
-
Hotel was not the "best" so we're itching to get out of here. We'll probably be getting there around 10:30-11.
-
Those of us stuck in Dulles (thanks Southwest) made it to FLL around 1am instead of 9pm last night. Yay. Onto the cruise port soon...
-
We'll be on the bliss with ya if we make it out of Dulles airport. Got a delay on Southwest because of a window. We had to deplane. So we're looking at getting into Fort Lauderdale around 1am then ubering to our hotel in Miami.

Actually, NittanyCruise, if sid_9169 had not politicized his posts with these t-shirt photos, we wouldn’t even be discussing this. So, it is with HIM that you should have an issue with.
You sound like an extremely likeable person. I honestly don't have a problem with free speech, even if I don't agree with it.

Forgive me if I missed it somewhere in here, but...
If I have a cruise currently booked for the Encore in December of 2019 and I buy 2 Cruise Next Certs on the Bliss in December of 2018. Can I apply those certs to my current booking without having to "rebook"?I couldn't find it in this thread so I figured it might be easier to ask...

this thing sucks at searching now.

I'm trying to find pictures of cabin 9900 or an angled balcony on the bliss. We're booked on one in December and I did it purposely hoping to get some extra room.
Just dispute the charge already!

No, because AMEX expressly stated that they could claw back the money. Until OP is free and clear he doesn't have anything.
