  1. I’m sailing in the Breakaway on Sunday the 3rd. I had an appointment to get a COVID test today (Friday) that I booked a month ago. I went to the appointment today and the test wasn’t available. Long story short my school district I teach in broke a contract with this testing company but didn’t tell us employees who booked the appointment. Instead they offered a PCR with 24-48 hours notice of results. I did it just to be safe. I’ve frantically tried to find rapid tests places but you need appointments.

Is it true there is testing at the pier in case I couldn’t get tested? This wasn’t my fault and I’m prepared to pay at the pier. Anyone able to help me out? I’m flying to New Orleans from Atlanta tomorrow.

  2. Hi everyone! I just went on a 7 day cruise from Miami to the Eastern Caribbean back in December. On Sunday, I am going on another cruise that is 7 days, but on a different ship and different ports or call from NOLA. Does NCL tend to have the same menus on their 7 day voyages?  I was on the Encore back in December and now I am going on the Breakaway. I just like looking at menus in advance. I noticed they have the same names for their restaurants Taste, Savor, and Manhattan.

  3. Hello! I am cruising to Cuba with NCL in about a week. I am a little confused about the wording of a message we received. Do we HAVE to have an excursion booked in order to get off the ship to explore? I know...I know...it's Cuba and things are a bit different. I have cruised on several ships to different locations and usually you have the freedom to explore a bit. Really all I want to do is go to Floridita to eat some Cuban food and because it's a famous place. I was thinking of booking a tour as well, but I really want to visit that bar.

  4. Hello Fellow Cruisers!

I am really excited about going on the Carnival Vista cruise which leaves Athens in about a week! I'm a teacher who has been saving pennies and dimes for this trip and I have read through the policy on gratuities (which is $120 for a 10 day cruise-which I am perfectly fine with). I have also read that they will put a $200 hold on your credit card. I know upfront I won't be charging my Sail and Sign Card. Will the gratuities fee of $120 come out of the $200 hold or is it separate?

I'm exploring a few options as well, and please tell me if I am allowed to do it:

    1. I would like to go ahead and pay the $120 gratuity fee when I arrive at the port through a debit card. Then maybe I will put a litle tiny bit of cash on the room key card they issue us.

    2. I would let them charge $200 and hope gratuities come out of that?

Any help or advice would be great! I would just hate to be charged with a huge hold when I could be using that money at each of the ports! :)

  5. Hello!

My friend and I are going on a 10 day cruise from Athens to Barcelona leaving on June 21st. The Carnival excursions are pricey, but I know they guarantee that you get experiences and get back to the cruise. When you get off at each port, are there people offering tours when you get off at each port?

Also, are some of the ports within walking distance of cities? I know that Rome you can take public transportation and in Naples.
