If you only wanted to sit in a lounger enjoying the sun and sipping a beverage, and maybe splash in the pool for a bit, yeah, I suppose you could spend a whole day there.  The shopping wouldn’t use up more than an hour or so, then maybe another half hour for the monkeys.

They did have a booth at the end of the pier where you could book tours, or if you book through the ship they’ll refund you if the port changes.  That might be a better plan if you aren’t sure.

Can you just get off the ship and use a nearby pool?  Is it free to use?

If you search this forum you will find a lot of answers to your question.

It is asked a lot, especially now that so many people are getting casino offers with free drinks everywhere on the ship.

You will get PERSONAL experiences 🙂

I have and did not get a straight answer. Also search on FB posts, etc. I get people saying yes and people saying no. So I figured I'd ask now that sailing is back!

  3. If you have personal experience with this please answer. I have heard both yes and no, so I am looking for people who did this themselves.  I am booked on a Casino offer with free drinks everywhere on the ship. My husband is not included in that offer. I was told that once ONBOARD (not prior, online), that we can buy the Cheers package just for him once I prove I have free drinks. Have any of you been able to do this? I have heard people say yes they have and others say you still have to buy for both. I have a lot of OBC but trying to plan on whether I want to buy extra Bar Cash. We sail in 2 weeks on the Pride. Thanks all!!

  4. I am booked in the 2BR Villa in the Haven on the Encore, cabin 18110.  My daughter is looking to book the Penthouse right next to it, cabin 18112. I am trying to find out if the balcony privacy wall is removable on that side. I can't tell by the videos and pictures posted. Some video's look like it may but others look like the bathroom windows would be in the way. Thanks for any help!

  5. I have a question which I am not sure was addressed yet.  I booked my March cruise through Casino's at Sea. I was awarded a "free" room, I honestly can't remember if it was a balcony and I paid to upgrade to MS or if it was just a free MA, based on my previous casino play on my last cruise. I was given the opportunity to bid up and I bid on 5 haven categories. I did pay taxes and port charges for this cruise. What is anyone's experience with winning a bid upgrade. I honestly only bid barely above the minimum for each as that is all I feel would be worth doing. We are 12 days out and there are several who have gotten their upgrades but it's mostly inside to balcony and balcony to MS. I believe one mentioned they got their Haven but not sure what their bid was

  6. Can I ask how many points you average per cruise? If not no problem, lol. We are close to Galveston so it's easier to cruise Carnival otherwise we would try NCL for the first time or go back to RCL (its been a long time since we sailed RCL).

My husband doesn't gamble at all, just me. I can average anywhere from 5000-8000 points. I spend a good amount of time playing slots. I live near Baltimore so Carnival is easy too but my land based casino, after only visiting it once after it opened, started giving me free cruise certificates. Once I use them, NCL and RCL directly comp me. RCL better than NCL. NCL however has the free at sea so we always choose free drinks and specialty dining.

  7. What's your gambling style?

I play only slots. Spend quite a few hours in the casino every day. I have not been on Carnival though since 2015. I get too many free balcony on NCL and Mini suite on RCL offers and not many from Carnival. This is one of the first few I have gotten. The PVP used to call me all the time but I told her I won't pay full price basically for CCL when I'm getting taxes and port charges on the other 2. Lo and behold, I got some good offers

  8. My offer code I just booked was for F3P. It was an Ocean view with $500 casino cash and $200 OBC. I upgraded to balcony for just $50 pp more. I don't know what the codes mean but mine is the only one I have seen so far with an F, looks like most start with P or O. I also just emailed my PVP as she booked the primary guest as my husband, not me. The offer was under my account and I want to make sure I don't lose out on any perks with his name first. Anyone have experience or advice on this?

  9. Yes, you can combine Free at Sea and Distinctive Voyages.

Recently, you have been able to double up on balconies and above booked 6 months in advance.

The double up anything is normally a short promotion. As are Tax Free, no service charge, $1 deposits, Take all 5.

We sailed on the Escape in April on a prepaid DSC promotion and on the Getaway last month on the Take All 5 promotion.

How did you combine the Free at Sea and DV promotions? It says it's available online, but a mock booking only gave the FAS promotion selections. Just curious on how to do it if I book one of those in the future. I know the Double up and other promotions run for short periods of time, but I was just curious how often they pop up. Like do they run for a month and then again 6 months later, or does it usually spring up close to holidays and big calendar events to spur up bookings?

  10. How often do they run deals like Distinctive Voyages and DoubleUp Cruise Next? Has anyone been able to receive perks for Free at Sea AND Distinctive Voyages (mock booking did not show it)? Just curious if anyone noticed certain times of the year or it's on a whim for the DoubleUp?

    Thanks!

  11. Searching the threads it seems the most recent nightlife post I can find is from 2012. We sail Anthem of the Seas Sept 23rd and will be there overnight. Any recommendations of what to do that evening? How is the nightlife? Should we book one of the night cruises through RCL? Thanks in advance

  13. We are sailing the Anthem on 9/23 - I did the online check in but had to repeat it after we upgraded our cabin. I made it all the way through, did our sign and sail info and even uploaded pictures. I was able to print our Sea Pass' and cruise documents. When I log in to my dashboard it still shows Online Check in status as In Progress. This is our first RCL cruise so not sure if this is normal. I thought it would say complete(d). Can someone advise? Thanks!

  14. I have the unlimited wifi access package. I read about the NCL iConcierge app that states you can text using the wifi for a nominal fee. Question is, if I already have the unlimited wifi, can I use the text part of the app free of is there still a fee? If there is a fee, any suggestions for a different free app to use on the ship? My husband and I tend to part ways when I hit the casino and I want to be able to text him. Thanks in advance - can't wait to sail this weekend on the Breakaway

  15. Debating on purchasing the 3 day SDP - looking at the FAQ's and terms, one of the questions was "Is anything excluded in the SDP?" This was the answer

No, all items listed on the menus are included in the package. Additional entrée charges also apply for dining at Cagney’s Steakhouse and Le Bistro

My question is - what additional entree charges apply at Cagney's? Doesn't it include an entree in the purchase price? Thanks in advance
