  1. Forgot to mention that we ate breakfast in the windjammer most mornings. The food was very tasty. The waffles are so good and the eggs to order station was excellent too. They have a place on the buffet that has over easy eggs. The line in the eggs to order section was really long two of the days so I got my eggs on the buffet and they were good. My only complaint was it was very difficult to find a table. We even went to the areas recommended on CC, but those areas were full as well. I would suggest that you find a table first, then get your food.

  2. I agree, the food in the main dining room was not good. We ordered lobster tails on the second formal night and they were awful. They did have an excellent appetizer, smoked duck breast, that was awesome. The steak wasn't good. No flavor. We are in all of the specialty dining venues. We liked Chops, order their prime beef it has a much better flavor. I like Jamie's but my husband didn't. I had the truffle pasta which was yummy. Order the plank with meat and cheeses as that was very good. I really liked Wonderland, hubby is a picky eater, but he liked it too.

  3. We purchased the WOW bands. I wouldn t do it. The only thing it worked for was our stateroom cabin. We were told all of our info was on them, including the UBP which was purchased in June. Well, it wasn't. At dinner we were told it doesn't show that you have the package, have to talk to my supervisor. A big deal making us feel like we were trying to get drinks for free. A visit to guest services three times assuring us all was taken care of. It wasn't. This went on for 3 days. Finally we started carrying our cards that had the stamp for the package. We paid 4 or 5 dollars for something that didn't work. My vacation is spent waiting in lines trying to solve their mistakes. So much for relaxing.

  4. My husband and I were on this cruise also. My husband and I don't want to sail with RCCL anymore. We've been loyal customers since 1988, but something has changed. And we are fed up. More nickel and diming, unhappy and overworked staff struggling to take care of customers; especially at the bars, at guest services, less going out of your way to please the customer with simple problems because they aren't empowered to take care of things by corporate, thus a runaround, lack of accurate information and confusion among staff both at corporate and onboard the ship, charges to our account that we didn't make, inquired about each day during our sailing, thought were resolved but weren't, including an onboard credit that looked to be applied on a printout while onboard, but we found out after we disinbarked in an email sent to my husband, wasn't. It was a credit given by Costco. I lay the blame for this right in the lap of the CEO. Everything starts at the top, with him and trickles down. In this age of technology, there is no reason that employees across the board of RCCL, shouldn't know the answers to simple reasonable questions about an upcoming cruise. When I called pre-cruise to ask about simple things, I got 4 different answers. I had to turn to cruise critic to find the answers I needed. I appreciated it so much, but it's not right. RCCL should be on top of it. My hubby runs a business and he agrees that the problems need to be addressed by the CEO and they aren't. Just look at the ongoing problems with their website. My brother in law is an expert in IT and he couldn't believe it. Its a simple fix. I feel that at corporate, Its all about the shareholders and not about the customer. If they think they will always have an open revolving door of new and past cruisers willing to put up with their nonsense they are wrong. They have lost us Diamond Members and I'm sure others will be as fed up as us and leave as well.

NCL should pay you to sail with them! I'm sure many have decided to cruise with them because of your stellar, extremely entertaining live reviews.

I've had so much fun and many chuckles following along on this cruise and others you've reported live from.

    Thank you so much!!

  6. My husband and I are sailing on the Anthem on August 31st. I've booked our hotel for the 30th. I need help figuring out transportation from Laguardia Airport to the Country Inn and Suites near Cape Liberty and then from the port the day we disembark to Laguardia Airport. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Mary

  7. Hi everyone. Does anyone know what the weather is like in late August early September in the New England/Canada region? I'm not sure if I should pack shorts and light tops or if it will be more fall like and I should bring heavier clothing. Also, do people make use of the outdoor pools onboard at this time of year?I know there is a covered pool in the Solarium and I'm sure that will we active.

We are flying into La Guardia the night before the cruise on Delta and arriving at their Marine terminal, which I've heard is less impacted by the airport construction. I've researched and am still a bit confused. Would you hire an Uber or a private car to take us to a hotel near the port? We are looking in the Elizabeth, NJ area for hotels, as many have said they are ok. If anyone has any other suggestion as far as hotels go, I'm open for any suggestions. Thank you so much for any input.

    Mary
