It's likely that rail and subways will still have problems, but surface transportation should be sorted out by then.

The terminals at LGA may be a problem area - some  were closed earlier today due to flooded interiors.

Thank you for the reply.  I did see video of the interior of LGA where people were wading in water 4-6” deep.  😞.  We are scheduled to arrive at 10:37 AM.  I guess will just hope that the flooding has gotten better.

  2. Flying into LGA tomorrow morning for a cruise departing on Sunday.  Been watching weather channel and the massive flooding.  Any clue on how it’s gonna be to get from LGA to our hotel in Manhattan.  Was planning on taxi or Uber but the videos on weather channel look very bad. We are scheduled to get to LGA at 10:40 AM.

When I go to check in, I end up on this page. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yes.  I did get this same message a few weeks ago while attempting to check in.  I was attempting to check in shortly after midnight on the first day that checkin was available to me.  We were finally allowed to Checkin about 5 hours later.

Actually, "burrow" isn't all that wrong considering how much time New Yorkers spend under ground riding the subway system.  😀

Ha ha.  I wish I could blame spell check on this one but it is all on me.  Wife even laughed at me when she saw how I spelled borough soon after I sent that post.  Spelling never was my strength.

Uber/Lyft, taxi or car service such as Carmel Limo or Dial 7 will all work. With a 2:20 pm pm flight departing LGA you have plenty of time so there's no need to fight the early disembarkation mob.

Have breakfast, start the disembarkation process no earlier than 9, and cross 12th Ave. where you'll find a taxi stand, or if you want to book an Uber go to a side street such as 48th St near 12th Ave and book from there.

Thanks all for the reply’s.  As was said, the nice thing is that we have a later flight so the stress level will thankfully be minimal.  It’ll be either the taxi or the Uber.  I’m hearing that the cost of those will be relatively the same.

  6. I know this has been asked and answered many times in past, however, I can not seem to find it.  Our first sailing from NYC. (Manhattan port) If I'm not mistaken the most preferred options are Taxi, Uber/Lyft or the cruise line transfer.  We have 2:20 PM flight.  It would seem to be some what of a challenge to secure a taxi or Uber/Lyft along with 4,000 others, many of which are seeking transfers to various airports also.  Please inform me what can I expect if I do not chose the Cruise transfer and choose  instead to use a taxi or Uber/Lyft.  There will be 6 of us but can be broken down 2 groups with no problem.  Thanks for any advice with this.

  7. I want to thank those that gave some very useful information.  We actually booked this cruise on Monday morning (yesterday) so we obviously did indeed miss the 120 day thing.    However, I thought that because I got the “not available to book, try later” message, Maybe the date for reserving was at a later date.  Thanks again to all.  Some really helpful info.

  8. We are first time cruisers on NCL and have a question.  We have booked an aft facing balcony (B1) on the Escape for an October 1 sailing.  On many of the cruise lines we have been able to reserve Dining and entertainment in advance. I went on the app to check this out and when I attempted to reserve a specialty restaurant I got "Not available to book.  Please check back later or once on board".   Is it possible to accomplish this on NCL cruises?  If so, when, for those first timers not in a suite or Haven cabin?  Thank you for any help

Both are great choices but I would go for the Midway Museum as its about a 2 block walk away from your hotel.  Can add a visit to the nearby Maritime Musuem and then a few blocks walk to Little Italy for a meal!

Just wanted to thank you again.  We are sitting at the Springhill awaiting our boarding time right now and just had to say we did walk up to Fillippis Grotto and absolutely loved it.  Great pasta and we really like that kind of ambiance.  We will join you in recommending that restaurant.

Actually the Midway was what we were leaning to and the Maritime Museum sounds interesting also.  As far as dining, we have not decided where to go on that yet.  We do heavily favor Italian food so Little Italy might just happen.  Thanks again for input.

And IMO Springhill Suites (assuming its the Bayfront one) is a great choice.  Newer, modern hotel right across from pier (100 yards or so) and an easy walk even with luggage.

After reading plenty of comments such as yours we reserved a room at the Springhill a few months ago.  Never been to San Diego and are looking forward it, although a short visit.  Cruising on 30th and arriving early on 29th.  We'll only have 1 full day to find something fun to do.  The Midway Museum and/or the Zoo both sound interesting along with several other things.

It seems to be on the cruises which were originally scheduled to be on the Millie and then the ship was changed to the Solstice.  For our December sailing the app isn’t available yet.

Not so Sure of that.  Cruising on Milly repositioning on Sept 30.  15 day Panama Canal cruise and we are able to check in but no arrival selection available.

This has never happened to me, and I have sailed six times since last July.  I spoke to a gal this morning, and she put in a trouble ticket to their IT dept.  They are supposed to get back to me in 24-48 hours. ( I think that’s about as likely to happen as “your call will be answered in approximately four minutes.”)😂

As you stated, it's unlikely that X will get back with you.  However, if the miracle happens, please let us know what they say about this.  By reading recent posts it seems that people on other cruises are indeed able to access arrival times with the initial "check-in" process. (see #16 above)

Check in for ours opened today, 45 days out.  Have read that is pretty normal.

However, the message said previously that they would email when check in was available, and I did not receive any email.

Were you able to obtain an arrival time during the check-in process?

Same here for our Sept. 30th cruise.  Took all the personal and health info, but the part that allows you to choose a pier check in time shows “ come back later.” ☹️

We are on the Millennium on Sep 30.  Sounds like you are too.  My concern was that there might have been a hiccup with our reservation causing the no arrival time selection as I had not heard of this happening in the past or with other cruisers.  It seems that it is not only us.  We’ll keep checking and eventually arrival time  choice will happen.  Thanks all for responses.

I can't recall if I've seen that (or something similar) or if I've just heard about that happening.  Either way, about the only thing to do is to come back later.  You could try checking in via the website and see if you get a different result.

I did try the website and get the same results....

"We’re not quite ready for you. Check back closer to your cruise to select an arrival time and complete check-in."  Just curious if it's only with our reservation or if others are experiencing the same.  We'll be patient and keep trying every now and then.

You can find the check-in date on the app.  Open it up, and make sure you have the relevant cruise selected (it defaults to the next one coming up).  Swipe over to the right or select the very stylized icon on the right of the calendar icon near the top of the screen.  Scroll down a little, and there's your check-in date.

Today, the 16th of August was listed as our check-in date.  We attempted to check-in and app accepted all of our information but there was a message  that said that we needed to come back at a time closer to our sailing date to a obtain an arrival time.  ???  Might have missed something on previous post about check-in but this came as a surprise.  Any thoughts on this.
