  1. Did you try the normal escalation path and it didn't work? not exactly sure what constitutes a higher-up yet I find it doubtful any Customer Service manager would not be able to solve a consumer issue. Good luck!

With my issue we called on 3 separate occasions and were told three different things. Finally escalated it via Facebook posting and it was solved.

  2. I am getting married on Saturday on the Paradise in port (Tampa). Everything has been very easy to plan, since Carnival does it all. It is also extremely affordable, at least compared to everywhere else we had looked in to. Plus our honeymoon was included! We have a total of 50 guests, with 27 of them sailing with us. We get to board before everyone else and will have two cabins available to us to get ready. Usually the ceremonies are at 1 PM and the receptions are at 1:30 for port weddings and you will not know the exact location of them until about 2 weeks before the wedding. Carnival has recently changed the wedding packages so you now have to pay for everything (food/drinks) individually based on what you want and increased the price a bit. We were lucky and got the all-inclusive and cheaper price before it was changed.

Carnival includes the wedding decor; which is a aisle runner, flowers, cake topper, and an ice sculpture. You get one plain white bouquet and boutonniere as well. You can customize the flowers and add more for a price and can request to bring in other cake decorations. Carnival works with a company called The Wedding Experience that will provide the officiant and flowers. We chose to get our own flowers, which have to be silk you cannot bring on real flowers. You can also add a DJ for the reception at a cost.

If it is something they are interested in call Carnival and you can get a tour of the ship and the wedding locations before deciding if you want to do it.

If you have any other questions let me know I will do my best to answer them before we set sail!

  3. We sailed on her this past June. It was my 3rd cruise and my fiance's 1st. We loved the ship. The food was great and we had great service all around, except at some of the bars that were over crowded. It once took me 15 minutes to get a soda from a bar on the lido deck. We particularly enjoyed the Blue Iguana Cantina and Guy's Burgers. We picked the Your Time dining option and found that service was pretty slow in the MDR, but the food was amazing! The comedy club and the piano bar were our go-to at night. We had a balcony room on deck 8 and everything around us was very quiet, except our neighbors slamming doors at all hours. Since she was dry docked a month or two before our sailing she was in great condition. Everything was clean and updated.

When we were on the Valor she sailed out of Port Canaveral so I cannot comment on Galveston's port.

  4. I agree that we really should have been compensated a bit better than $25 OBC pp. I also had ZERO notification from Carnival about changing my itinerary by a certain time on a certain date - and I certainly receive calls from them all the time asking if I'd like to book a cruise...gee...just can't imagine why I didn't get the call asking if I wanted to change my trip. We're committed to going on this vacation as there's really not another window for us to take this trip and we've gotten the time off, etc -- but I'm seriously unhappy about missing Roatan. It is definitely NOT dangerous if you arrange a transfer over to West Bay Beach and enjoy some of the BEST snorkeling ANYWHERE in the Caribbean. I'm tempted to call and ask for a better compensation here....I'm happy we were able to get into Maya Chan at Costa Maya since it's so well reviewed....but I bought my brand new tribord snorkel mask JUST for West Bay Beach :(

I didn't receive any notification about changing my cruise either and neither did any of the people, all 27 of them, that were booked with us. I've been to Roatan before and didn't feel it was dangerous at all. It had some of the best snorkeling I've ever seen, and we too, bought snorkel gear for this port. Since I'll be getting married on this ship there was no way that I would be able to change my cruise so we are making the best out of it. We booked a spot in Maya Chan too. It will be a great cruise no matter what!!

  5. I am disappointed too. I got the email last night saying that it was changed from Mahogany Bay to Costa Maya on the Paradise. Was really looking forward to Mahogany Bay and this is my wedding cruise :( This is actually the second time that they've changed it. When we first booked it went to Cozumel and Grand Cayman. Then they changed to Mahogany Bay and Cozumel. Now it's Cozumel and Costa Maya.

  6. I'm getting ready to send out Save The Dates to my A guest list. My wedding is booked for 9/25/17 on Carnival Inspiration. Our A list is almost 50 people long.

I have a question for all you ladies that are further along in your wedding planning. What was the percentage of invited guest sailing with you?

I am getting married March 18th on the Paradise at port. We have 48 people coming to the wedding and out of those 27 people sailing with us.

  7. I am getting married on the Paradise out of Tampa March 18th, 2017 on a 5 day cruise to Cozumel and Isla Roatan (it was Grand Cayman but they changed the itinerary a few weeks ago). We've already got our bridesmaid dresses, my dress, and the groom's/groomsmen's suits. We skipped STDs and just did a Facebook group with formal invitations to go out in a few months. I also booked a DJ and requested to NOT be in the dance club because it is leopard/zebra print. We did a tour of the ship before booking and found it was hideous! We have requested the Leonardo Lounge for the reception and the Normandie Lounge for the ceremony. Our wedding coordinator said she will do her best to honor our requests. She even told me that a lot of brides request to not be in the dance club and wishes Carnival would change it because even she thinks it is ugly.

Really excited for my wedding and extremely excited that I don't have to actually plan much. I think I'm going to keep it simple by just having favors for the guests and letting Carnival do the flowers/cake/decorations. The only thing I am worried about is finding someone to do my hair and makeup!
