Good luck! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I'm glad to see you and your family are making the most of a terrible situation.

I'm considering doing hibachi on the ship for the bridal party. But my FMIL wants everyone to eat together every night.. so I may have to do something different

Copy that.. I was thinking something along those lines too. I'm just going to bring extra envelopes and money with me

If everyone is sailing with you.. why don't you do the wedding in a port? You can always do the wedding on whatever island or port you are in. There are a lot of reasonably priced packages available for cruisers not through the cruise line.

Yes we used carnival.. but we booked before they changed the packages. I looked at things on island rather than through carnival and there wasn't much difference with the old pricing.

O wow.. your pictures are gorgeous!! You were a beautiful bride.. I love the first pic with the rings. I haven't seen anything like that yet from other cruise wedding pics.

For those that got married on a Carnival ship I have some questions about tipping. I'm trying to plan my budget and I'm not really sure how to go about it with tipping for the staff at the wedding. How many waiters were there? Bartenders? DJ? Officiant? Photographer? Coordinator? Other staff? How much did you tip?
For reference: I'm doing a port wedding in the middle of the cruise. We're getting off the ship and married on Grand Cayman then back on the ship for the reception..

We chose an embarkement day wedding on Carnival Liberty 05.21.2017 because some of my most important guests could not sail (just attend the day of) and this also made it affordable for everyone to come. 50 guests attended and we sailed off on our honeymoon right after the reception =) Biggest advice is DO NOT STRESS THE SMALL STUFF...the only issues we had was having to walk too far to get to VIP boarding and customs took an extra 45mins to clear the ship so a few guests saw me (not in my dress yet) but they hid me from my FI so he didnt see me until I walked down the aisle in my dress. I think my bridesmaids were more stressed than I was about it and they immediatly got a bottle of champagne to my stateroom while I got dressed LOL. I loved the experience and my guests faved about the food at the reception. Our pictures turned out better than expected. Enjoy your big day =)
Do you have any pictures your be willing to share? That's my biggest concern is that I can't meet with a photographer in advance. I hope I get a good photog

I second calling and asking questions. Non sailing guests are not welcome at tender ports, so they would not be able to attend my wedding reception on the ship. Things can vary greatly from location to location so make sure you have all the details prior to booking.
Overall my process has been smooth so far and everyone is great with answering questions. And this forum had been hugely helpful as well.

I'm getting married during the cruise in the beach in Grand Cayman. We need to fly to the embarkation port and so do all of our guests so they will all be sailing with us. It didn't make sense for us to have an embarkation wedding.

Does anyone else have any reviews or info they can share about their weddings? I'm particularly interested in hearing from brides who were married during the cruise in a port. I'm getting married on the beach in Grand Cayman with my reception back on the ship (Carnival Vista) and was curious about how that process compared to the people who got married on embarkation.

Awesome. I'm glad to hear that. $3000 is out budget so we should be good!

Congrats! I'm getting married on the Vista in August but I'm doing a Beach Ceremony in Grand Cayman before the onboard reception. Can't wait to see your pictures.. did they offer any wiggle room in pricing? Or strictly off the packages? If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay and how much was "everything" if you went that route?

I'm doing a welcome bag with personalized sunglasses, sun block, lanyards for the room cards, Advil, Tums, have sanitizer, lotion, and other small cruise/ vacation things.

Id say stick with the blushing bride. It sounds like a good drink (that's what I'm doing, lol).. but all them to change the name. My coordinator said I could make up my own name as long as it was one of the drinks on the list.

I'm getting married in August as well on the Vista. We're doing a port wedding in a Grand Cayman. From what I've been told you only get up to 2 hours on the island and then back to the ship pretty much right away for your reception. I'd love to hear from someone who has gone through it!

Tipping for Onboard Weddings

I had envelopes for everyone for the tips rest to go. I did a shoreside ceremony and Ship reception so I probably has some extra people to tip. Here's what I did for the ship tho. I tipped the photographer, coordinator, DJ, bartender, and 2 waiters.
