We are scheduled to leave this Sunday, January 28, on the Ovation for our first Seabourn cruise.  Is it too late to receive a referral for shipboard credit??  So excited!  I’ve heard great things about Seabourn!

    Hi Carol and Tom!

Feel free to email me at winonasis at outlook dot com and I can help you out.

    Happy sailing,

Would like to understand the rationale why does it need to be on or before December 7th 2023? I am sailing on December 17th 2023. Thank you so much!

    Hi there,

I think that means the original poster is saling by Dec 7 and the credit is only applied after your referred cruiser sails. I am sailing in February 2024; if you can't use the original poster's referral and still want one, let me know.

  3. Thanks jgibbs! When you typically add the flights, how close is it to your departure date? and how do you see them - like is it through your My Silversea account or a separate email?

I'm not sure calling the ship would help me in the event a connecting flight is missed in the middle of the night - I need a travel agent who can rebook me... though I suppose I could call the ship and ask them to wait LOL.

  4. I have a couple questions about using Silversea's air as well. I have a cruise booked that departs in December. I know people will say to book the flights myself, but the Silversea airfare is better than I can do and includes transfers, and takes the worry out of being on my own if a connection is missed (there are no direct flights). If I was making my own arrangements, I would go in at least a day before, which costs me another day of holiday and the cost of the hotel. So anyway - my questions:

    - When will I receive flight details? My TA said Silversea told her 60 days out but I have seen posts where people are many months out and know their itineraries. Note that my cruise will be paid in full by the end of this month (April). If I won't find out for a while, then I may just do it myself while there are some good deals, rather than end up with 2 or more connections.

    - I have read that you can request that Silversea make your flight non-refundable and ticket it immediately so you can look after things like seat selection, and that they shouldn't charge you for this if you agree that your flight will indeed be non-refundable. Wondering if anyone has had success with that recently?

    - how late could they have you come in? I am trying to figure out what the chances are that they will come back requiring me to do a hotel night the day before

    - does Silversea give you a 24 hour emergency number in the event you have problems with your flights? I know how hard it is to get through to them on a good day and picture missing a red-eye connection and needing to contact someone.

    - there are flights to Miami that get in earlier with shorter layovers, but I recognize the transfer would be slightly more expensive. I asked the TA to ask about it and she said she was told if I wanted that I should book my own flight and arrange my own transfers. Wondering if anyone else has tried to get to the port in Fort Lauderdale by flying in to Miami through Silversea air

    Thanks for your help!

  5. Hi there! I am wondering how the tendering works on the Epic. I read that you have to get tickets or sign up somehow on board for the tenders - but if that is the case, how do you know when you will get off the boat in order to arrange tours or train tickets (western med cruise)?

    Thanks for your help!!

  6. Do you have the correct spelling?

    It's Civitavecchia, not Citavecchia. :)

Well that was partly the problem!!! When I enter only CI, only 4 places showed up but I looked closely after your post and they were all CIA... places. So then I realized it wasn't showing me all the 'CI' entries, just the CIA ones. When I put in the full CIVITA - it showed up! Thanks so much for your help (sheepishly!)!!

  7. Hi there! I am hoping someone can help me. I wanted to buy tickets on the express train from Citavecchia to Rome for October 1 but when I go to the 'trenitalia' website, I try typing in Citavecchia in the 'from' field and nothing shows up. I don't see any other names being used and there seem to be lots of people buying train tickets from Citavecchia to Rome - so I don't know what I am doing wrong!

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

  8. I have never cruised on Silversea but am planning a trip on the Spirit in December. I have cruised Seabourn's Sojourn, and loved the 'Seabourn Square' coffee area. I know Silversea is supposed to be Italian, and to use very good coffee - but I don't see anything resembling a coffee spot where you can get fresh made lattes or cappucinos. Am I missing something?

    Thanks for your help!

  9.
Sharon - i think i just caught a mistake, thanks to you. i thought i had booked the Hyatt Place near the marina (near bimini boatyard, Anthonys Coal Fired pizza) - until i read your post and realized I booked the airport location. Can you please confirm it is the 17 st location we want? any idea of cab fare from there to the port? Any other good pizza places nearby? and do you recommend this hotel? we are travelling in November and get a rate of $125ish for both locations.

    Thanks for your help!
Just to clarify - we want out hotel to be near some good local restaurants...
  10.
I didn't realize that you actually wanted to see Fort Lauderdale. There is nothing really to see around Hyatt Place airport (other than a discount shopping plaza) or Hyatt Pier 66 (other than the drawbridge that overlooks the port). Maybe you should stay at Courtyard Beach and let them hold your bags after checkout. At least you can easily explore the beach area around there by foot. It's also the closest hotel of the 3 to downtown if you want to take a short ride over to Las Olas Blvd. A taxi ride to Miami from Fort Lauderdale is going to cost close to $100. Hyatt Place is the closest so it will be the least expensive trip from there.
