  1. We had 1 ancelled this July and next July Alaska was also cancelled and have just canceled our Xmas 2021 cruise...it was just going to be too much for airfare at Xmas and gives us an excuse as we really not comfortable cruising, maybe in 2022, we kept our FCC which we hope to use again. (We have 3 years left to use) hoping for better times ahead

    stay safe everyone

  2. We are also on the May 21st cruise, as paid already, will not cancel as presuming rcl will do that. If not we will cancel using the 48 hours cancellation option,,we have another one booked for Feb 6, 2021 which we will leave for now.

also have another cruise booked on cunard for July 31st, final payment was due this week,  but they reduced the time to 60 days last week, we will leave for now, but I already cancelled our Aeroplan tickets as they had a full refund option if cancel by March 31st,,worst case if goes ahead we can also rebook,,,just not sure we will feel safe regardless...and will the ports be open in nyc, Iceland and Scotland in August..only time will tell

    be safe everyone

  3. If we do pay and cunard ends up cancelling do we have the option of full refund, ?

i think so, but have read so many posts not clear anymore. 🙂

as noted our other cruises are good deals so would not want to cancel then rebook and loose free grat, cabin upgrade. Etc...unless price went lower but right now the one for dec 2021 is already showing $500 more than we booked a few months ago.

  4. I hope if a cruise is cancelled we can use to pay fcc for another cruise already booked. The site does say new bookings only as mentioned in this thread...

We have a couple in 2021 that have free grats and room upgrade. That sale is no longer on, would be unfair I feel to make us rebook..and loose what we have,,,,debating as our July 31st cruise payment is due April 2..I have no issues in paying, but don’t want to have to rebook to use and loose the benefit we already have,,,hoping that the cruise does not get cancelled, ....

  5. New notification from work today, along with several countries on the list, those returning for a cruise are to self isolate for 14 days..our cruise is on May 21 as already paid, will wait for a while to see what happens,,we we’re diving to port vs flying already so no airports Work has no time line. Until  notified otherwise if cancel no biggie, already have another cruise in feb booked..only sad part would be loosing the great deal we got for premium drink package...

  6. We have never had an issue with getting OBC with a future cruise certificate ...unless something has changed  since early December. We used our last one for the sale that had free grat, and upgrade from OV to BC. This was a cruise 2 years in advance

  7. Hi I can reply as to the different packages received, I called cunard directly and asked for the premiere soft drink package for myself and alcohol for my husband In early November, the cunard rep said it was ok, even though  I mentioned I thought we both had to get the same ..I booked it right away,

I enquired again this past weekend for a future cruise, and the rep states they can no longer take reservations/payments from passengers. We either have to do it on line or when we get on board..I think it is unfair to ask us to both have the same..they will loose an alcohol package from us that they would have perhaps got otherwise..it is not worth it when 1 of the 2 does not drink often

I did  notice thought that the coffee package is now listed at $10 per day vs $15

rakkor. Hi from your Canadian table mates...

  8. The Xmas decorating starts on the Caribbean cruise that leaves late November, as the cruise progresses, more and more come out each day. For 2020, not sure how that will work as it is in dry dock I think at this time..expect it would be the first cruise out. Decorations are usually all up by December 8th

  9. Finally after 16 nights and many many events got our binoculars..30 stamps were needed. Top prize...

a few items available included from what I can remember =

1 stamp, pencil or deck of cards

    3 stamps, pen/keychain

    4 stamps, USB stock

7 or 8, Cunard glass tumbler

10 stamps, flask and cups (like a picnic set)

Also nice wine cork opener set and a option of a barometer, don’t recall exact numbers but think no more than 15.

  10. We have been lucky enough to to cruise in princess twice, but mostly regular balcony cabin..the robes are definitely plush in princess, so much that I bought one to take home for $75..

we are on this Sunday for the 16 nyc to nyc voyage, and although I will miss the plush robe, the other robe is fine...some hotels nowadays don’t even provide robs...

your package sounds like fun..enjoy,..the flowers from the ship do last quite a while..

  11. Do they enforce that both parties take the drink package? I understand maybe they think people will share, but if I recall it tops out at 15 max...I would take the coffee package instead.. I know other cruise lines enforce this too..just not really fair for couple who have one who is a Not drinker per say

  12. We would fly to Newark to go on the cruise, and then fly out of Heathrow to come home..I would love to take the ship back to nyc, but I think it would be another $2k or more each..and another week of vacation time from work..last time we cruised over then flew back, ended up using AC aeroplan rewards, but our 2 free tickets cost $800 in taxes/charges

just wondering if their flight cost were as cheap as they mention, up to 80% less (just not with Ac 😞. )

  13. Hi

has anyone got any better deals booking through Cunard for flights for Canadians...from Southampton to Canada (looking at Ottawa)...we had airfare booked for a cruise a year ago but as we asked for air canada, the return fare for 2 in August from Ottawa to London was over $2,300..this total was a couple hundred more than if we booked it directly with air canada, but it did come with the protection of flight issues and boarding...

I called to ask a few weeks ago for an idea for next year 1 way from Southampton to Canada, but they said we needed a booking to get a price..I was curious if there are any deals to be had.. air canada or otherwise..

a one way flight for 2 would be over $2300 next August when I check air canada’s website..makes it not worth doing a trip that start in nyc and ends in England
