Yea, we'll have to watch. I know John and Janet were heading back there to anxiously reopen Jack's, so we'll see.

Looks like they made it in to GT!  Folks posting pictures on social media.  Very excited as we are going there on the Sunrise next week.

The August exception form is up.  It will not allow you to submit unless your booking is paid in full.  It advises that the deadline for submissions is June 25, so acceptance/denial most likely will be after that.  Whereas the July sailings the deadline for exception submissions was June 15, and final payments are still deadlined for June 21 and exception accept/deny is still pending and expected sometime after that date.

Do you have the link for the exemption request?  I haven’t received the email yet, and worried I might not get it.  Thank you!

  3. I messaged John Heald on his page and he responded with the following regarding potential cancellations, so maybe all is good.

    Per John -

No, absolutely not. Please don’t worry. We have not canceled any other cruises. We will be releasing the protocols this week and this will be why some of the sailings on different ships have been removed. I will share all the news this week but I have no doubt we will see you sailing as planned and having the best of times. Thanks so much.

  4. I asked John about this on his page as our Liberty sailing along with several months worth dropped off the site.

He replied with the following regarding potential cancellation:

Liberty is scheduled for dry dock operations 09/17-10/21.

Interesting, I wonder if it got pulled ahead then or they aren't going to bother with crewing her up for just a few sailings prior to dry dock.  Bummer.

  6. Has anyone else noticed that Carnival has removed all Liberty sailings until November?  We are booked on the Sept. 3rd sailing, and now I am nervous that it is going to be cancelled.  Seems odd that they removed these sailings so far out.

  7. That’s a great question.  I’ve noticed that she has been in Miami for well over a week now.  Longest I’ve seen a ship in Miami for a while.  They usually are in and out within a day or two.  Maybe they are working on getting her staffed up for July?  Fingers crossed as we are booked the last week of the month as well.

  8. I've attempted to reschedule our 3/14 sailing though multiple reps today at NCL and their lack of customer service is apparent.  They act like they are keeping Coronavirus off of their ships and are Superior to CCL and RCL.  Unbelievable.  Sure hope corporate steps up and changes the policy.  Just cancelled our 10 day Med cruise on the Getaway for June 2021.  No way are they getting my future business after today.

Viking is a private company with no shareholders to answer to

Yes, but good customer service is good customer service.  Depending on how NCL handles this going forward will determine if I book with them again.  I understand shareholder demands typically go against what's right for the customer, but being a leader in the industry for outstanding customer service goes a long way in my book.  We will see how it all shakes out.  Not a good situation for anyone right now.

Why should they? Right now, there is no reason to.....but that may change in the coming days and weeks!

Because we are in uncharted waters, and many folks have jobs and children that would be negatively impacted if more quarantines occur.  Viking is allowing folks booked to cancel and reschedule up to 2 years out.  That's awesome customer service and the other cruiselines should follow.  I still want to go, and I'm not asking for a refund, just the ability to move my sailing with credit.

Thanks for sharing your experience with calling NCL. I had been wondering whether it's worth the time it takes to call them. Apparently not!

I'm with you and a couple of others on this thread in that I'm much less worried about getting sick than on the possibility of some type of quarantine situation.

You're welcome!  I even elevated to a supervisor, and no luck at this point.  She did mention the policy could change in the coming days, but nothing yet.  Fingers crossed, and now I've got to look for a backup plan should we stay home.  At least we live in Florida, so alternatives shouldn't be too bad.

  12. We are booked on the Escape leaving the 14th, but waiting to see what happens to the Grand Princess.  At this point, they should let everyone leave and go home.  The virus is already spreading across the country and these limited quarantines won't stop the eventual spread.  I'm far less concerned with the virus, and worry more about being stuck on the ship or an off-site facility.

Tried calling NCL today, but they won't budge an inch on their policy.  At this point, waiting to see what happens over the weekend and may end up cancelling next week if the Grand Princess is quarantined as that will set the precident on how the US will handle this.

Would welcome NCL offering FCC to those wishing not to go.  I'd rebook tomorrow for June if they'd allow it.  My wife is a teacher, so being stuck for weeks in quarantine won't be good for her job.
