good morning all.  Thanks to Rich, Roy, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie & Ann.

Just a quick post as I need to hobble out to the garage and attempt to get the car out and prep stuff.  The foot nurse contacted me yesterday to see how my foot was after the trip and when I told her it had improved somewhat but then started to hurt at night and was difficult to walk on.  I did wheel chair assistance disembarking and at the airport.  Anyone who knows me, knows I wouldn’t do that unless it was unbearable.  When she heard that, she asked to come right over to examine it.

After her examination she agreed the outside was healed but the pain (she tested me - ouch)indicated either an infection inside or something very wrong and told me to not wait for my appointment on Wednesday but try to get in today to get antibiotics NOW along with all the referrals she wants (X-ray, vascular surgeon, orthotics - it’s a long list - not sure if the doctor will attend to it all in one appointment.

her name is magic - they know how good she is and I have an appointment later this morning.  Not only did she make the house call at her request - she also is making herself available if the doctor wants to talk to her about her observations.  she’s a gem and I am so glad I found her.  She is knowledgeable, dedicated and caring - reminds me very much of my own DD Jose.

Prayers for those on the care list, those suffering losses, grief, pain health issues, worries and those that need them.  Cheers to those celebrating and cruising.

Hope your foot gets better. Sounds like you are in good hands, take care

We boarded April 27. We arrived at about 12:20pm in anticipation of a 1:00pm boarding but didn't board until about 3:30. We spent at least 2 hours waiting for US Customs, probably closer to 2.5 hours.

I'd recommend anyone who will have trouble standing or walking for that long to bring a mobility aid or arrange for a wheelchair. Port staff were doing the best they could to find foldable chairs for those struggling but they of course, couldn't make the line go any faster. US Customs wasn't expediting anyone in the standing line (except for when port staff pulled the Zaandam folks to the front of the line because they were leaving in 30 mins...)

This was only a two ship day. Even those who arrived before their prescribed time at 10:30 still had to wait, according to other reports I'd seen elsewhere.

Does not sound good for me

  3. I have been on Celebrity in the past and loved it. So I booked the Apex last year in the aqua class with included beverage. When I called up about changing cabin I was informed that I did not have the included package. We chatted back and forth and then I insistently told no. So I switched to Rotterdam and had a great cruise for nine days rather than seven with better ports Curaçao and Aruba. I have been browsing Celebrity again , love the Si,houette but the prices are quite a bit higher. You pay for room service and now I am seeing these extra prices so I will happily sail with Holland. Just my observations.

  4. Thanks for the maps and reports. Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday. Sorry about the Lightening. Was a good game. Love the shots of Gibraltar. Best fish and chips I have ever had were there.
well husband got good check up and is cancer free, graduated from oncology. Guess the Alaska trip is on. Friends were on the ill fated Radiance for their first cruise. I felt bad for them. Hip surgery is waiting for me, legs are okay but the hips don’t lie.
I explained about my excessive need to boogie which caused this issue. They just stared and nodded and when I mentioned the cruise to Alaska their mouths dropped open. I will just stay onboard and observe the scenery with a pain killer or two.

Just found out we will be tendering in Ketchikan (bummer) and wondered how quickly/smoothly this works.  I booked a HAL tour but my husband has private fishing tour - we have Club Orange so hoping this makes it easier for him.  Any insight would be appreciated.

What date is your cruise? I hope it is not on my cruise May 10 as I have mobility issues

  6. Good from Niagara and hope all are well. Just waiting on tests for husband that he has no recurrence of cancer and my self waiting on knee surgery. Interesting week . Anyway prayers for everyone on the sick list and I love cole slaw in any way shape or for,

    m. Generally I make dressing by thinning mayo with lemon juice and it’s pretty nice. Well we see if we sail on Koningsdam in May , have not been to west side of Canada butI can heartilyreccomend the East coast, particularly Newfoundland where my family originates. Terra Nova national park is just stunning and the people there are very nice. Tge humour is off the charts. Happy Earth Day to all my friends on this board and take care.

They are indeed service dogs..... otherwise you would be restricting the person who needs them. Service dogs will lie under the table in a food establishment. They do not eat at the table. By the way.... I can not see taking a non-service dog on a cruise.  I would spend more time caring for the dogs than enjoying the cruise. I have two dogs.... I just finished a 94 day cruise. My dogs have been taught to board and are familiar with the kennels and they evidently had a blast since they were not particularly happy to see me home. I am now broke from bailing them out but it is Part of the cost of cruising that I figure in when planning.read baby buggy
