  3. Thank you to both of you for the feedback. We actually ended up with 723 on the Dolphin deck, which is the cabin next to the end on Dolphin deck. I think it will allow us to experience the benefits of the corner deck, without having to deal with it being uncovered. We're going to the Canal during the early part of the rainy season, and also will have some shade to protect us from the heat.

We've never been so far aft. We tend to get cabins in the Lido deck, so being so fa from everything will take some getting used to. As with everything, there are pluses and minuses. Your posts help me see that the minuses should be (if nothing else) bearable. Thanks!

Now that your cruise is over, can you give us an update on your Aft Cabin selection?

Any engine noise or vibration in your cabin?

  4. Thanks, all, for your help - I think we'll be very happy there:) We'll let you itknow

I saw your post where you were going to be on Island Princess in Aft room in November. We are scheduled to be in C717 and C719 in December 2018 a couple decks above your room.

Can you update on vibration in the aft area?

    Thanks so much.

  5. Baronbob,

We were in cabin D716 last May in AK. We did not have any engine noise or vibration that i can remember. In fact we are booked in D714 to Panama this Sunday. Can't wait.

Thank you for your reply. I will pass this along to our friends. Hopefully you can pip up to Caribe 705- 723 and see how vibration or lack of vibration there may be there. Have a wonderful trip!

We booked same transcanal LA to FLL Dec 2018.

  6. Was in cabin D715 last May in AK and then going on D714 Sunday. Never had a problem with vibration.

Chreseclan so excited for you leaving this Sunday to Panama. That is exactly itinery we booked for Dec 2018.

If you have a chance can you pip by Caribe deck Aft cabins 709 through 721 starboard side and give an update about any vibrations?

    Thanks so much in advance.:D

    Have a marvelous cruise!

  7. Thanks all. I have heard a couple primary complaints: motion of the ocean, vibration, distance from everything, and soot. Doesn't sound like any of these were concerns. Looks being n Dolphin deck means we don't get loungers on the rear viewing area, but it is easy enough that go up to Caribe or Baja.

One more question. Are Dolphin balconies the ones that are half coverd and half uncovered? I remember looking king down into some cabins lik that on my last cruise (from a standard balcony).

    Cras108er:

Hi did you end up staying on Dolphin Aft on your cruise? We're there vibrations?

  8. Apparently you like vibration, I'm jealous! I have one of the new handicap suites on promenade deck booked for next year and am really hoping the vibration is at a minimum! I don't care for it. Hope you find what your looking for! :D

We don't like vibration at all. That's why I'm asking for others opinions on these cabins. Do you have first hand experience with Caribe 700 cabins?

  9. We had a D-7XX series mini twice on the Coral to Alaska and a C-7XX series mini once on the Island thru the Panama Canal. These are located as far aft as you can go so they are private and quiet. Those on Dolphin deck have fully covered balconies; those on Caribe have partially covered. Minis in those locations are steps away from the public viewing decks on the stern. The Caribe deck is deeper and has lounge chairs. The Dolphin deck is smaller and does not. Make sure you take advantage of the aft deck as you go thru the locks - it is a fascinating perspective and you might have the area all to yourself since most passengers aren't aware of them.

Thank you for this info. We have the choice of C705,707, 709, 715,717,719 and 721.

Looking for a cabin with little vibration.

    Any recommendations?

  10. I was in c722 in June. This is a standard mini-suite for this class of ship, so balcony is about 9x7, and half covered. It is a great location, except for the long walk to the buffet at the front of the ship!! ;) The viewing area at the back of this deck is a nice bonus. We were very happy in this cabin on our Alaska cruise.

Can you tell me if you had any vibrations in your room? Engine noise?

  11. We had A416 for Alaska last summer, and thought the view was outstanding. The balcony was a tiny bit smaller with the rounded corner, but we loved the panoramic view -- especially for Glacier bay. We are a family of 5, so we also had cabin A418, and we were able to open the door in the partition between the two balconies.

We will be on the Coral again this January for the Panama Canal, and we orginially booked B416 and B418, but decided that we would rather have 2 minisuites with larger balconies for this longer cruise, so just changed to D724 and D726. I have read other posts that mention how close the aft balconies are to the back of the lock, and I am hoping that D726 will give us a good view to the back as well as the side (although the Coral doesn't have any true aft balcony cabins). We are excited about having more room, as well as the larger balconies on the Dolphin minisuites, but we would probably have stayed with our original choice if it were just my DW and I travelling. Anyone else who has been on the aft of the aft bumpout in the Canal?

Well I realize it has been some time for you since this cruise but, do you remember any engine noise, or vibrations this far aft? Thanks

  12. Hi Jonathan 😀

Big thank you for your live reports. We sail away on Regal on Oct 7.

Multi cruiser here, but first time to New England. Your tips are awesome. Drooling over your cannoli report and have added that stop to our list to do and eats!

Can you please tell us which nights are the formal nights? A girl has some planning to do. Thanks again Jonathan.

    🍸🛳️🎉Leeann
