  1. My sister will be in the Haven and I will be in a balcony. She is under the impression that I will get to come visit her and be with her at the pool in the Haven but I don’t believe that to be true. Does anybody have any experience with this?

  2. Hi,

My husband saw that we can drive up Mt. Vesuvius and then walk the last 300 meters or so.  I would like to join him, but don’t want to have to keep up with a group and a woman holding a sign up.  Is this excursion possible if we rented a car and did it on our own?  has anyone done this without a tour group?  TIA!

Question:  I keep receiving the email to bid. Well I finally did place a bid but when I went to look on the website, all the cabins i bid on were sold out. Why do they allow you to bid if cabins are not available?  We sail in 17 days.

Because the people in the cabins you are bidding on are bidding for a high cabin, themselves.  So once they win one, the cabin you bid on will be open.

Hi, we start booking our activities for the second leg of our B2B tomorrow. I understand we’ll be required to leave the ship, but we’ll we have to reboard with a PAT time? Or do all B2B get back at the same time?

I’m hoping this could be a good opportunity to book Palo brunch on board, assuming we can’t get it at our online check in...

We have done a B2B and until I told them before we sailed through the 800 number, they had no idea we were sailing back to back.  So make sure they know you’re doing it.  They have to check and make sure it’s kosher with the PVSA law.  Also, remember, you don’t have to go right back on board.  If you’re in a place you’ve never seen before, go ashore and treat it like another port day.  There’s not much going on onboard so you might make more of your time exploring the port.  I think you have to be back by 2.  At least we did when we were in San Juan.  Enjoy your trip!  If you’re gonna do laundry, do it the morning everyone is getting off the first leg of the trip.  You’ll have the machines all to yourself.  Just make sure you tape a note to it letting the CMs know you’re on a B2B and will be back later to get it. :)

  5. Hi,  I posted this on the Alaska port page, but thought I might have some more luck speaking specifically to Princess Cruisers.  There are two different excursions that are about the same and I wanted to get your opinion on which one was better.  The first one is Skagway dog sledding & glacier flightseeing (SGY-840) and the other is Juneau dog sledding on the Mendenhall glacier. (JUN-845).  Are either of these a better glacier experience?  We have a couple of people in their late 60s/early 70s going, so that might be a factor, as well.  Is there a better time of the day to do it?  Thanks for all of your feedback!

  6. Hi Everyone.  Happy Thanksgiving to all the Americans on the board.   I have a question for those who have been on Princess in Alaska.  There are two different excursions that are about the same and I wanted to get your opinion on which one was better.  The first one is Skagway dog sledding & glacier flightseeing (SGY-840) and the other is Juneau dog sledding on the Mendenhall glacier. 7. I have noticed that Disney has a cabin classification they call “white wall veranda”. Will someone please explain what that is and how it differs from a regular veranda on other lines.

It’s the same layout as the clear plexiglass except the plexiglass part is opaque and made of a different material. It’s not clear so you would have to look over the railing to see out. I’ll see if I can find a picture of it.

  8. I don't have any information. Right now there are at least 6 cruises involving NYC in *GT status' date=' including one to from Quebec City. If these cruises were selling well, they shouldn't be hitting *GT status![/quote']

That’s what i have always thought bc I’m always seeing the Canadian cruises on sale under the special offers page. It’s odd.

  9. I was just on the Dream and the red bingo machines were not working, so they have to refund everyone’s money. What a bummer. That session was only played on paper cards and only raffles prizes were given out. No money. It was supposed to be the 10k jackpot game session. What difference does it make if you pay with cards or machines for the 10k? Is it fixed when you play with the machines? There would seem to be less of a chance to win 10k on just paper cards, so why didn’t they continue with the jackpot?

  10. My mother has never been to Atlantis and she wants to go see/play in the casino and nothing else, once we get to the port. My question is, do you have to pay the expensive daily grounds fee to play or can you just walk in to the casino and gamble? Thanks!

  11. What can I expect from a Disney cruise do parents discipline their children or let them run wild. I love seeing kids have fun. But out of control is different. I read that Disney don’t even enforce the adult only areas. Allowing teens in the pools and hot tubs. That is what is wrong with society today how do we expect kids to follow the rules if parents don’t enforce them. Don’t get me wrong we love the whole Disney thing. My concern is parents thinking they paid good money for the cruise that their kids can do whatever they want

My daughter reports that the CMs do a good job telling kids not to run when in the OC. The most disruptive thing I’ve seen kids do is run up and down the halls screaming while I’m trying nap or sleep in my cabin, but it’s a fleeting moment of my vacation so it doesn’t bother me. If you don’t want to see excited and overtired kids, then DCL is not for you. I’ve yet to see a kid have a meltdown in the MDRs. I’m not in the adults only area a whole lot, but I know they don’t stop kids from walking through to the other side of the ship. Frankly, putting the adults only area midship was poor planning on DCLs part, if you ask me. For the record we will be taking our 13th DCL cruise next week, so I am speaking from experience.
