good to know - thanks

Probably a daft question but here goes
- do you need to bring your own beach towels for the pool??

thank you Beth that has clarified things - I didn't even know what the ship's compass was! Hopefully we'll take it easy and muddle through. Many thanks for replying so swiftly

Hi Beth - I have really enjoyed your blog - it has been really helpful. I am doing the same cruise leaving Barcelona next Monday. This will be my first cruise and I haven't much of a clue. I know 2 ports involve tenders - Nice and Kotor - from your blog I gather this means you have to queue to get a ticket at a specific time. If you missgetting a ticket does it mean you can't get off the ship at all. This is probably a daft question but I am confused about the tender issue!

Thank you all for taking the time to reply - I'm probably over-thinking it! Apologies to you 'Penciltwister' - I seem t0 have rattled your cage but hey you still found time to spew forth a venomous reply.

I am finding very conflicting advice regarding the dress codes for the formal nights. Some say there is a dumbing down of the dress code and others say there are still many tux/ballgowns on the go. I sail on Brilliance of the Seas 12 night Med leaving Barcelona on 25th July. We are a famly of 5 - 2 adults and an 18, 15 and 12 year old. This is our first time cruising and I'm anxious not to get it wrong. Any advice gratefully received!

i sailed on Brilliance out of Barcelona on 25th July - we had booked 2 staterooms and we bought 4 bottles of wine in the duty free at the port after security and put them in our hand luggage. How we regretted not buying more!! - No one checked at all. Could have carried on whatever we could fit in luggage.
