  1. Hold on there, my friend.

You are porting in Playa del Carmen??? That is FANTASTIC. When you go to Cozumel, if you want to visit the Mayan ruins, you have to take the Vomit Comet ferry to the mainland and spend most of the day traveling back and forth.

When you dock in Playa del Carmen, you're on the mainland! This is wonderful news for you. Take an excursion to the Mayan ruins.

You have absolutely hit the jackpot with your new itinerary!!!

Which Ruins? Vomit Comet Ferry, OMG!

  2. Your confusion confuses me.

You had OBC from the credit card. It showed in your Cruise Planner. You spent it. Where is the problem?

It doesn't state that it was from the credit card, didn't know that it had been applied. Customer rep stated that it was from RC promo, not a credit card redemption. Lucky you, I think not! But hey, I appreciate your response.

  3. Here's what it looks like on my Costco Travel Receipt:

    Included Extras

    $25.00 Costco Cash Card

†You will receive a Costco Cash Card two to four weeks after you return from your cruise. It may be used toward merchandise or gas at any Costco warehouse throughout the United States and Canada, or toward online purchases at Costco.com or Costco.ca. The value of the Cash Card is determined by the base cruise fare for the stateroom category booked. Offer is nontransferable. Member Benefits and Added Values:

    UGH! So frustrating, and confusing!

  4. The program is being rolled out gradually by ship.

Tell them that it is very confusing and that the information should be posted in a way that indicates exactly where the credit is coming from. I too had the Lucky You pop-up, thought that I'd "won" something so to speak because it said pre-cruise credit, it was different than the amount I had redeemed from my credit card, and I hadn't seen this on a previous cruise when I had B of A credit card credit. I even called RC and the young man told me that it was a promotional credit that was from RC and had nothing to do with my credit card. Therefore I pre-booked additional fun. I wanted to check to make sure that my credit points had been applied and an hour and a half later was told that yes indeed they had been applied and used! UGH! The pre-cruise "won" credit was my credit card point redemption plus an additional $25 that RC said was a promotion that I booked under. What? Where was that credit when I originally booked, why 2 weeks prior to boarding are they showing this $25 credit in addition to the credit that is from my credit card redeemed points. I hate this new program and hope that they improve in their communication with their staff and also with their customers. What a hassle! And a disappointment due to once again misinformed employees at RC call center. I don't believe that Bank of America is even aware of this new Program, and feel that it is sad that RC's Program is inconvenient, confusing and frustrating for future cruisers. Not a great way to start a vacation count down!

  5. Ok, sit down and put yourself in their position.. you work damn hard with very little down time. You sleep in a cramped shared cabin. You have a family or dependent back home who rely on your income. The cruise liners continue to pay 3rd world wages.

Ok.. now think how happy you would be if the wealthy cruiser left you a candy cane..

really!!! I am sure they will be the envy of the crew lounge when they show off their 'trinket'!!

I'd love it if it was attached to a card with $ in it :halo:!!! Which is what the original post said.
  6. I'm going on the royal allure and wondering if there is a discount for the ultimate booze package if you pre book it. I'm hearing it ranges 20-30% and not sure where I get this , first time on royal. Anyone please help thanks

You didn't mention when your cruise is. If it's a good deal of time before departure just keeping checking the RC site. Same goes for your fare and excursions if there's a reduction or sale then you can either buy then or adjust then. Happy cruising:cool:

  7. Use to decorate my door for years, however I stopped because my decorations kept on disappearing.

I decorated last year, had several days with no problems and then slowly pieces disappeared, until there was nothing left. Mentioned that the decorations were missing and two out of three were recovered:hearteyes:

  8. Nothing publicly revealed by the cruise line. Could very well be only required periodic marine maintenance and inspection.

I thought that since they were in FL from the end of Oct until the middle part of Nov. that something more than maintenance and inspection was going on. I remember reading on the RC website that it was scheduled for Refurbishments in 2017.

  9. Visa points OBC is fully refundable, so you don't have to use the casino. You can go to Guest Services on the last afternoon of the cruise and get a cash refund there.

Thanks for the info Bob, saves me a few steps since I prepaid with my visa card for all excursions, drinks and dining 😉

  10. They apply the redemptions in order of cruise date, so if your cruise is very far in the future, you may not see the OBC posted for months.

I know that I saw information somewhere on this site before explaining how to get cash back if you did not use all of the on board credit that you'd redeemed from your Visa Credit Card. . . but now I can't seem to remember the information I read or where I saw it exactly. It had to do with going to the casino, asking them to put a dollar amount on your Set Sail Pass then cashing out prior to using all of the amount to gamble. . .something like that. Can you advice?
