  1. We used Park N Cruise....Were not happy with the gravel parking lot. On arrival it is chaotic and disorganized. The couple in front of us had their luggage loaded on a van that they were not on..didn't know who had it, and ended up going to their ship without luggage:eek: Felt so bad for them...after that we kept a very close eye on ours....

After the cruise had to wait a verrry long time to get picked up..they said one of their vans had broken down,,,,We were not dropped off close to our car..and trying to roll luggage on gravel is not fun...when we asked to be dropped closer to our car they made it seem like an imposition...

That being said we used a park n cruise at Fort Lauderdale and had a great experience! Such good service and a paved lot with big spaces....very efficient. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again...but not sure about park n cruise orlando..

  2. Yes it is self parking and you do keep your keys..Its a big open lot, not paved, but with gravel...Your car will sit in the sun all day.

Be very careful that someone keeps an eye on your luggage at all times. When we parked there, we saw a couples luggage loaded on a van and they didn't get on the van that their luggage went on...:eek:Not a good way to start a vacation. Needless to say the couple was very upset..There are many vans leaving at the same time, and they didn't know which van it left on...When you arrive the will unload your bags and move them to an exit area while you pay and get info. It's a rushed process as they are trying to get everyone out as quickly as possible. Be sure someone gets out of your car and stays with your bags the whole time until your whole party is ready to leave.

I know this sounds confusing, but the only thing you need to be sure of is that someone keep track of all your luggage and you watch them load it onto the

van that you are leaving on...:)

    Have a great trip...

This only occurred at Port Canaveral. We have used Park N Cruise at Fort Lauderdale and it was a nice paved lot with numbered parking spots, much better organized, and just felt more professional. They picked everyone up right by their car and loaded the luggage and away you went. Not as chaotic!

It's ok though if you want to save money...just wanted you to be aware of the negatives..:)

  3. Can someone confirm that ParkNCruise is self-parking and you keep your keys?

  4. We seldom do "excursions"....if you research your ports, there's hardly ever a need to pay someone to entertain you. We don't really care about a location's history...we like beaches and they're easy to do on your own! Many times, we'll just stay on the ship and use it's facilities on a port day...the ship is what we've PAID to use, and it almost our's alone on port days! Very nice!

We don't do the "spa" or cabanas....rarely will we do a "specialty" restaurant.

We do enjoy space, so we do book a larger cabin, usually a mini-suite....I want to be at LEAST as comfortable on vacation as I am at home...and I don't have a teensy bedroom!

I guess what you "splurge" or ''save" on depends on your lifestyle and what's important to you!

    '

I,m glad someone else feels the same about excursions as I do..I wasbeginning to feel like there was something wrong with me. The few I've taken we're overpriced and a disappointment. I just love sitting on a beach reading, or our balcony, or just enjoying the ship..guess I'm boring....but that's what I enjoy:)

  5. Looking over this thread I believe the two different off site parking options have gotten muddled.

First, Park N Cruise is located on Merritt Island and offer fenced parking, not all paved and can be crowded as more and more cruisers discover the location. Still getting good over all reviews as reliable. Cost 6.99 per day + 6% tax. Second, Park Port Canaveral located at the Radisson complex, has a large unfenced paved parking area. Cost 5.95 per day + 6% tax. Both charge for first through last day just as the Port Parking does. Both have shuttle service, wait for transport varies depending on number of pax. If your in a hurry taxi service is available at the Radisson for around $10 - 15. I'm familiar with the Radisson parking area and have never had an issue, I use the stay and park option (free parking). Hope I haven't confused anyone more than before:confused:

Thank you for the info..Radisson must have a huge parking area to be able to handle guests that aren't even staying there. Just seems a little strange that they could have the room to do that..

  6. I regularly stay at the Raddison and have always left my vehicle there, the lot was not fenced but I never had an issue and parking was free with a stay. Not sure about the parkportcanaveral company. Will be calling tomorrow and if they now charge extra I'll stay next door at the Hampton as they still offer free parking with hotel stay. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Another just posted that there is not fence? Just wondering which is correct?

  7. I just checked trip advisor on this hotel, and many of the reviews are not good.

There are also reviews from people who stated that the parking lot was very crowded with cars parking on the grass and everywhere, and that they had to wait 45 minutes to get transportation to the port. They also stated that the van was overly crowded..so not sure this is the place to park...Just trying to be helpful...maybe some of you have first hand knowledge?:)

  8. I just saw the rate change too. I hope someone can stop by and tell us their experience with ParkNCruise. I read in one review that the ride over to the ship was very pleasant. Just wondering how they did at picking you up at the ship (Crowds, Long Wait, etc). I have a Park and Cruise at a hotel reserved but I might cancel if I can find a cheap hotel and ParkNCruise has some good reviews.

I'd like to know this too. We used one for a cruise out of fort lauderdale and it was great. Goodq price and excellent service..the van came to your car and the driver loaded all your luggage..it was minutes away..and they were waiting when we got off the ship...I'm just wondering if the one in Orlando is the same?:):(

  9. we just did park & cruise for Carnival Dream last week. We were very impressed, save $, 5 min ride to terminal, they load & unload bags to you... coming back all we waited was maybe 10 mins and the bus drove up. The driver gets out & loads your bags into little bus, and even drives up to your car & unloads bags to you standing at the back of you car.

We both agreed that we were most likely on the road faster over lugging your own bags accross the street & up into the parking garage there at terminal...and save money!

Easy to find too, right off the road.

    I highly reccomend them...EASY

Can you please tell me which one you used and give me the contact information please? thanks:)

  10. Hmm I never even thought about my bag of wine chilling in the stateroom fridge... maybe because I had taken everything out of it and it was all on the counter there wasn't any reason for them to check the fridge... then again it did look like a giant bag of pee LOL

Can you ask them to empty your refrigerator so that you can use it for your own things?

  11. We went there and I had gotten a price off the internet and set it up. When we got there they wanted more (much more than I had been quoted). Dumb me didn't take a printout of the E mail with me. The place was nice enough but we had to argue and finally settled on a price somewhere between what was quoted and what they wanted. Thus we won't go back there. The man who we had to talk to was the one I had gotten the E mail from. Rude, Rude, Rude. So if you go make sure you print out any quote you were given.

Sorry this happened to you. After reading so many similar reports I'm wondering if we should chance it. I just don't like those kind of hassles when on vacation...not sure what we'll decide to do when we cruise in January:confused:

  12. Hmmm. I dispute this since our bar bill at the end of trip (with 2 bottles taken on every cruise) is usually high anyways (and we have concierge access too). It's not about being cheap - it more of a convenience factor. We just enjoy a few drinks on the balcony or while getting ready for dinner.

So please refrain from making judgements, we will all be better off enjoying our vacations as we each please.

    I totally agree..very well said!:)

  13. We have 1547 on the solstice in June - I believe its one of the largest balcony sizes and should be on an angle so get sun rather than overhang...am I right???

We were just on the solstice last week. That cabin has window washing equipment hanging. It is a an obstructed view...The equipment did not move the whole week. I would not have been happy in that cabin. I had that cabin booked originally for our cruise, but after reading reports on this board, I changed. There are pictures on here of it somewhere. Hope this helps:)

  14. Radio ... I took some pictures but not as many as I would have liked. Visitor Center still closed. Not much change from when you got there. Didn't hear of anyone willing to pay the prices for the coaster.

Once we got off the tender, the armed guards were a bit disconcerting! We roamed around a bit and went back to have lunch in the MDR. I will post the pictures when I get home tonight!

Do you pics of the armed guards?
