If you're drinkers, keep in mind that the guarantee cabins have no perks (and NCL has the MOST expensive drink packages)

You will get perks for Guarantee Balcony too! Perks are for bookings with 5 days+ and from January 2017
For Guarantee Balcony we were given options to choose any 3 of the below
FREE Premium Drinks Package
FREE Speciality Dining Package
FREE Internet Package
FREE Spending Money – increased to $200 for a limited time only.

Don't get Guarantee Balcony because in epic there are so many Hull balcony(enclosed) and exposed balconies, you might end up in a cave balcony with a little hole to look outside.
Details are here

If this doesn't bother you then go ahead, you will have a great time!! entertainment is first class!

We need more new ships with Waterfront promenade like MSC seaside
I Hope other cruise liners follow
-
Thanks everyone for the quick replies
I agree with DDLIKESTOCRUISE, MSC Seaview is spot on with almost 50% of the bars and restaurants open to the sea bringing guests more closer to the water.
but the launch is 2 yrs away lol

Are there any ships which has many outdoor areas directly connecting to the ocean?
Like when you sit down and drink next to the ocean. All bars in almost all the cruise liners are facing the pool or inside!
Closest i have seen is on the Carnival vista photos
Anyone came accross similar ships?

Good choice room
You will have your bed near the loo and couch near the balcony
Balcony is bigger than others! similar to the one below
According to other ppl reviews, you can have a chair and 1 sun lounger!
Your half balcony might be seen from other few cabins as you can see in this picture below!
Picture credit goes to Cruzeface & Philamike

how do you know what the "full amount" is? Is there better pricing than on NCL.com ?
Yep if you shop around there are third party websites and travel agencies(not allowed to advertise) offering cabins at a discounted rate than NCL!!
-
Try and speak to them nicely
If you call them and be rude then you won't get anywhere
I am sure you can modify your booking since you haven't paid the full amount.
Maybe a good idea to call yourself and explain to them.
If all fails then drop and email to the top(You will get a reply within 2 days)
longuestservices@ncl.com, vewart@ncl.com, astuart@ncl.com
Remember DON'T BE RUDE

No she did not, just booked yesterday.
Did she pay the full amount?

Looking for some advice. My wife booked us (8-9-16) on a Jan sailing of the Jade, in a 2-bedroom Haven suite. We have 4 adults and 2 kids under 21 for a total of 6 in the room. There are many advertised specials going on right now including free wifi, shore excursion credit as well as the ultimate drink package. My wife is very thorough with these bookings as we have cruised many, many times, almost exclusively with NCL and almost exclusively in suites. She when she called to book she specifically asked and was told that the drink package applied to all 6 people. 4 adults with the ultimate beverage and the 2 kids with the free soda program. So she books the cruise and later gets the confirmation which says that only 2 people in the room get the drink package and NOT all 4. So she calls and the person is not very nice and is told, "sorry only 2". So she asks to speak to a supervisor who comes on a essentially tells my wife the same exact thing....only two. So my wife asks if they record the conversations to which the supervisor says "Yes". My wife asks if she will review the tape and call her back and the supervisor says YES.........but nearly 24 hours later, she did NOT call back and we believe that she will not be.
My long question is, what is our recourse here. Knowing what we know now, we very well may have saved $1300 and booked 2 mini-suites instead of the Haven and paid the extra for the drink package for the other 2 adults.
Anyone have any advice? I don't feel that we are going to hear back on this and when you spend 8k on a cruise, that is not good customer service IMO.
Never call NCL direct for booking straight away.
Do some research online, January sailings for 4 adults and 2 kids haven suites all are showing less than 5K$ on NCL websites for all the trips in January!! You mentioned you guys forked out 8K$, definitely you got ripped off by them.
I guess you paid just the deposit and are waiting to pay the rest after seeing the actual booking details right??(Usual process everyone does over the phone) if so cancel and book online(You will only loose 200$ deposit).
If you paid the full amount before even seeing the actual written booking then you have no choice and don't let your wife do the next booking lol
Free drinks package is only applicable to 1-2 guests in the booking!
Have a look here
http://www.ncl.co.uk/offers/free-at-sea/terms/
Not to be harsh, please do some research online about any particular cruise and offers + check online prices before calling them.

There is a review about connecting rooms here.
Review recommends not to get it since you will have to sacrifice closet space!
