Pork belly is actually the part of the pig the streaky bacon comes from. It is the most expensive cut of meat from the pig and it does have a high fat content. However, when pork belly is cooked correctly the fat renders out and the meat is left extremely tender with a crisp crackling on the skin. It shouldn't in essence be an extremely fatty dish. It's very popular in most parts of the world but particularly the South Pacific, South East Asia and many parts of Europe [emoji4]

95% of all the drinks will be included in your drink package. My understanding too (and it may depend on your cruise line) is that the drinks package includes gratuities but the prices of the drinks if you don't have the package then have the gratuity added. So a drink which is $10 then becomes something like $11.80. Remember it also includes sodas, water, coffee etc depending on who you cruise with [emoji4]

The Waitomo caves are a fabulous thing to do but it is a 5 hour round trip by car. You'd see a tonne of rural land driving and that's about it.

As an Aucklander I agree with cruising Kirby. Get to Auckland at least the day before your cruise, book a hotel downtown preferably Quay St or The Viaduct, then you have an extremely short walk to both the Ferry to Waiheke (which would be a lovely day) and to your ship the following morning. This area is full of restaurants and shops too.

Don't panic, there will be places to get speciality coffees. The best espresso I've had on Princess was actually on Dawn Princess, which also doesn't have an IC, just an excellent barista.
Thanks heaps! [emoji4]

True, the Diamond does not have IC (which is a shame, IMO) but you can still get the coffee drinks the same as usual at the Lobby Bar. My waiter in TD got me a latte every night after dinner (and punched the card) so it's possible to get coffee at more than one place.
Thank you [emoji4]

I'm on the Diamond in January and was disappointed to learn that there's no IC on board. Where will I be able to get barista coffee and specialty coffees from? Or won't they be available [emoji22]

Terracotta Warriors in Wellington from December 2018
in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers

Just an FYI for those considering this that only 6 warriors and 2 horses are in the exhibition. I was considering a day trip from auckland with my son but it's not the quite what I experienced when they came to Auckland in the 80's. Important to know if you are expecting 100+ warriors [emoji1303]
