Last 7 cruises, 6 X, 1 Princess. Looking forward we have 2 X booked for 2017, 2 Princess for 2018, and 1 X for 2019. We will likely add a spur of the moment cruise in 2017, and 2018. We love cruising and I love being retired!
Transatlantic on the Reflection is next.

Just got off a Caribbean cruise on the Summit - ranged from golf shirts and dockers to sports coats and dress pants. Very few ties. A handful in tuxes (3 or 4 maybe). But All seemed to be enjoying the cruise. [emoji3]

Dublin itineraries underwhelming. Just 4 departing in 2018 from Dublin and all of them indicating concierge class already sold out when I went on the Celebrity site this morning. Two 10 day, one 8 day and a single 12 day cruise ending in Amsterdam. Too few and too short in our opinion for a trip across the pond.
We were looking forward to booking a 2018 British Isles cruise to on Celebrity, but will now wait for Princess to release their 2018 12 day BI cruises. We tried Princess for the 1st time this summer in the Baltic and liked it.

Great review! We love the Celebrity S class ships too! Maybe we will see you in the Tuscan Grill on a future cruise :).

Excellent move! Thanks for posting, we have kept to Celebrity and Princess in recent years - but have been tempted by some of the HAL itineraries. This change would remove my main reason for avoiding HAL.

We have sailed on 5 Celebrity Cruises and did Princess for the first time this summer in the Baltic. B4 balcony cabin on Princess and C1 concierge class on the Celebrity cruises.
We like them both and except for our higher standing in the Captains Club on Celebrity, would be relatively fine with either for future cruises (we have 2 2017 Celebrity cruises booked and one 2018 on Princess). There are more similarities between the two lines than differences.
The cabin in X C1's has a sofa, the Princess B4 has a small desk and the TV/mini fridge unit has a useful countertop. Princess has a much bigger closet.
We liked the food on both lines, enjoyed most of the MDR meals and the cafes.
The Princess ship (Emerald) felt a bit more crowded in the cafe serving and sitting areas and the main theatre and primary location lounge were undersized for the number of passengers on the ship, but not to the point that we couldn't work around it(get there early).
The best of the food we had on the Emerald was better than the best of X as far as the MDR and cafe, but the X cafe had more variety and regular ice cream - (soft serve on the Princess, except in the MDR).
We liked the specialty restaurants on each very much( and tried them all), with the exception of X's Qsine, which was a "one and done for us".
I considered the entertainment on both to be roughly equal - and average at best, with rare exception.
We liked Princess' 2 drinks for $1 more and pub lunches (both in the Wheelhouse Bar). We love the Sunset Bars on X ships.
Both lines have very friendly and helpful crews.
For us, picking which of these two lines to cruise on in future will likely be driven by itineraries and schedules.

We went this summer on the Emerald Princess. In Helsinki we got on the Hop on Hop off and got off at the town square and explored - worked out great and inexpensive. In Gdynia, we found the lowest cost, longest duration city center tour - used it to get to and from Gdansk - ditched the tour once we got to the beautiful historic city center and enjoyed the sights, shopping, cafes, etc until it was time to find the tour group for the bus ride back to the ship. Gdansk is roughly a half hour bus ride from the pier. The tour cost was lower than the estimated cab fares.
We also did the Hop on, Hop off in Stockholm, but weren't real happy with it - if we were to do it again we'd take a relatively short cab ride to their historic city center and explore on our own on foot. The rest of our ports were different than yours. Enjoy your cruise!

Wonderful pictures and great commentary! We are booked on the Grand - San Fran to Hawaii in Jan 2018, so we are anxious to hear more about the ship and your trip.

Long sleeve dress shirt and nice trousers for me. No ties, no suits - for me that's "work clothes". When I cruise I'm on vacation! I didn't feel out of place on recent Baltic cruise on Princess and I won't feel out of place on an upcoming 16 day Atlantic transit on the Reflection.

Yes, it can be used by more than one device, just only one at a time.

We are booked on the Reflection April transatlantic cruise also - concierge class balcony room that we booked a year? ago while onboard another X cruise. We called Celebrity and they applied (after we emailed them the required paperwork) the shareholder credit without any argument or issue.
