  1. We are travelling as a family on Silhouette next year.  We have cabins 6140 and 6142 next to each other.  I wondered if you can have the divider on the balconies folded back so we can all be together.  Thanks for any help.

  2. Thank you to all who replied. This was exactly what I wanted to know. Love the suggestion of a bucket of sweets to hand to staff. Will consider bringing one for granddaughter to hand out to staff. She would love doing that.

  3. We are going on a cruise which will cover Halloween. My granddaughter will be with us aged 8. Will there be anything celebrating Halloween on board. Mainly asking if we need to bring her a costume with us for trick or treating?

  4. Been on both inside and balcony. Same size cabins. Prefer the layout of inside M class to S class. The beds are at the far end of the room making the room seem much bigger. Never had a feeling of claustriphobia in any inside cabin. I actually sleep much better in an inside cabin.

  5. We are going on a cruise in late October/beginning November. We booked our 3 night dinning package about 2 months ago. It was a special deal that came up. I am travelling with DD, SIL and GD. I am elite, they are not. Only my SIL got the email about special deal of 20% off a number of packages so he booked for the family.

  6. My granddaughter has traveled with myself and her parents on about 5 occasions all on Celebrity. She will be 8 on our next cruise in October. She loves the club and would happily spend all her time there. However we also want her to get something out of the travel, so we tend to do half day on shore and half in club. She has always been treated well by the staff in the dinning room but we also expect a certain standard of behavior from her. It is part of her learning experiences to know how to behave in different environments. All I can say is that she ia always really excited about going on a cruise. As our we!

  7. My granddaughter is 7 and she has been on 3 celebrity cruises and is looking forward to her 4th cruise later this year. She loves the kid clubs and really enjoys her time there. I would think that as she gets older she my want more of the bells and whistles on other lines. However so far she has thoroughly enjoyed her time on board celebrity.

  8. Our granddaugter has been on 2 trips and we are booked on another next year. She was just 4 and just 5 on the 2 trips. On both occasions she had a brilliant time in the club. We did take her in August as she had school starting at the beginning of September. We were VERY impressed with the security arrangements as I was the person who normally collected her. No parents are allowed in the area for the safety of all the children. I had to sign my DGD in and out. Only older children with written permission from parents can sign themselves out. I think you had to be 10+ for this but I do not know for sure, as DGD not in that age range, it did not apply.

Our only problem with the club was that she wanted to be there all the time and you are asked not to leave your child for all the sessions in one day. Surely you want to spend some time with your child on holiday. Worked really well for us.

I certainly always saw at least 2 people on duty every time I went. Can I say that a teacher of secondary pupils for over 30 years in the UK and now a primary school governor I am aware of care issues and never saw anything which worried me.

Celebrity tends to cater for an older market and those with teenage children would prefer one of the family orientated lines such as RC, NCL etc. However from our experience our GD had a fabulous time and her first question on being told we had booked another cruise was "Can I go to the club?".

  9. News story about moving Equinox to Caribbean in 2017. No mention that to do so they had to cancel the already sold cruises in Med!

We booked early to get the cabins we wanted. A couple of months ago we were informed that our cruise was cancelled and suggested we move to another cruise. Found one 2 days later but also 2 days shorter but the dates were important to fit in with granddaughters schooling.

Now today we have been told that cruise has also been cancelled, obviously to move the equinox to the Caribbean . I had booked flight to Barcelona and a hotel in Barcelona. The only cruises offered that fit into time frame were for Fjords did that last year, or Greek Islands did that one year before.

I have always loved Celebrity but after 2 cancellation not sure I would trust them again

  10. Don't know if this works for you as I live in NW England so know little of London Airports. However last year I went on a cruise out of Southampton. As I traveled on my own and met daughter at S'ton I flew down from Manchester. My daughter met me at the airport but it is not that far in a taxi from the airport to the docks. You would have to check if there is an internal flight to S'ton that would fit in with your arrival times, however the cheap airlines are not that bad on prices.

  11. I am in England. I received paper copies of the tags from my TA with my documents. I decided to try and order on line. I got one set of tags the day before yesterday, about 3 days after ordering and another set this morning!

So it is possible to get them.

  12. I personally do not think it has anything to do with the tipping or not. On my first visit to America I found the practice of advertising the cost of an item then only adding the tax at checkout most perplexing. Being from the UK I expect the price shown to be the price charged. We both have to pay the tax but we have got used to it being included in our advertised price and Americans are used to having it added at checkout. Simply a different way to do it. I realise this is not a tax but it is the same system. Britons on the whole prefer to see the total price to be paid shown. Celebrity have bowed to that cultural norm and shown the total cost. We all pay the same either way.

  13. Everyone talks about the alcohol brands available on Classic v Premium but the reason I upgraded from our included classic package was to do with non-alcoholic drinks. I love sparking water and hate flat. I would have to pay for every bottle of water on the classic package. Also I love the Iglus in the café but despite being below the classic cost they are only included in the premium. Well, have always been included when I have asked. Plus of course you only pay the difference to upgrade with the premium.

  14. On my last two cruises last year on Reflection and then Eclipse there was orange juice available in both the dinning room and in the buffet. These were quite pleasant but not freshly squeezed. Having a premium package I could ask for and received fresh orange juice which was really delicious in both locations.

As for the scrambled eggs I have no idea what eggs they use. I only know that I ask for scrambled eggs on board as they are the best scrambled eggs ever and much better even than my own!

It takes all sorts doesn't it?

  15. I booked the 3 night package on our Eclipse cruise last October. I booked a couple of months in advance and as far as I knew like you I had to have dinner on the first night. When we boarded I went to the speciality restaurant desk to sort out the other 2 nights. I was informed that I did not have to go on the first night and in fact we spread our 3 nights over our 2 week cruise and did not go for a number of nights later for our first dinner. It seems the system required a date for booking but once on board you can sort out your own nights. Hope this helps you.

  16. Took my DGD on Reflection last August. She was 4 at the time. She loved it. Only problem with kids club that we had is she didn't want to leave, was having too good a time. All the staff were wonderful with her and any other children on board that I witnessed. Went with DD & SIL and she spent mornings in club and then again in the evening. She went swimming most afternoons with her Dad.

Loved it so much DD & I are taking her away again on Eclipse in August to the Fjords. Again hopefully she will enjoy club DD will enjoy trips and I will relax and enjoy the ship. What more could you ask fo?

  17. We were on the Eclipse in October. we are not night owls so didn't use disco but popped in their to get a couple of drinks to take back to room after the show. We talked to barman and he said it got busy later but was always quiet in the early evening.

Hot glass show. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. Went on reflection in August, great cruise, but much improved in October, despite poor weather, by Hot Glass Show. I am off on Eclipse next August with DD & DGD and I am really looking forward to the glass show. Did not make all of them unfortunately but we did go to 4 of them for 2 hours at a time which just flashed by. Different horses for different courses obviously.

  18. We booked the 3 night package on Eclipse on our cruise in October. On line only able to book time but no restaurant. When I came on board we went to the speciality dining table. I believe we went to Qsine as it was the first we came to but it doesn't matter which one you go to. I thought we would sort out the remaining 2 nights but we sorted all 3. The time on booking is just to allow the system to recognise it. We could chose any days and times we wanted and in any order of restaurant. So it was great.

I have to say sitting in the window of Tuscan as we sailed out of port was absolutely magical. Even DH who never comments on anything was waxing lyrical about it.

    Hope this is helpful.
