We were on the same cruise....it was a great week!! We stayed in a regular balcony room on deck 10. We had VIBE passes, well worth it! Everything was amazing!!

We sailed Breakaway Aug. 7-14, we were at port by 9:30 AM, we got Boarding Group 6, our friends that were right behind us got Boarding Group 10?? We were first time cruisers and this was their second NCL cruise, so no idea how they determine which group you get!! As I said we (my husband and I) were boarding group 6 and we went immediately to deck 6 for VIBE passes, we got numbers 69 and 70!! She cut off the line right after us! I gave her a huge hug, as I couldn't believe we got the last 2 passes!! We paid $198 total for the 2 passes, well worth it!!! Leon and Alvin were awesome bartenders all week!!

I am posting because this was our first time on a Norwegian Cruise Line, we did the Breakaway August 7-14. I had read so many bad reviews before we left that I was really afraid that we made a terrible mistake booking this cruise! I am here to say that WE had a fabulous time! The ship was beautiful ( I read alot of complaints that it was dirty?? We saw staff cleaning and sprucing up constantly). People complained about the food....we found it to be fair to very good (we ate at O'Sheehans, Cirque Dinner show, La Cucina, Manhattan, Cagney's, Taste, The Garden Buffet, Uptown Grill). The Cirque dinner show was actually our least favorite meal. Most staff were very friendly and accommodating, constantly asking if we were having a good time, and if we needed anything. The entertainers were very good, we saw Cirque (fabulous, except the meal), Rock of Ages (loved it), and Burn the Floor (excellent). We also spent time in Howl at The Moon, so much fun!!!!! We did a wine tasting which was very informative, and sat at Shakers while a Martini tasting was going on....also very informative.

My only "complaint" would be with the amount of people that I saw who thought they were "entitled" to much more.....it was disgusting. I heard a woman complaining to customer service that she emailed them to book a dinner reservation and was upset to find out she didn't have a reservation, she insisted that they do something to "make it up to her"!! We had passes to the VIBE, you needed a separate key card and a wrist band to use it. I saw I young girl (early 20's)come in on Sunday as we were sailing out, bragging on her phone that they had passes to the exclusive adults only section, and when the waiter told her she had to wear her wrist band (at least for the first 2 days until the staff got to know you) she said she wanted to "speak to management" because she was told she didn't need to wear it!! She had it with her, she just felt that it was a nuisance to actually wear it!!!

Also, we were with friends that had children with them so they couldn't take advantage of sections like VIBE and had to fight to find chairs on the sundecks and pooldecks. People would get up and hold numerous chairs for their whole party and then not show up for hours, and in one case, not at all! Again that is just plain entitlement.

I guess my point is not to let all of the negative reviews worry you. We had an amazing vacation and would not hesitate to sail with NCL again!

We just got home from an amazing week on the Breakaway......my husband (thank goodness it wasn't me!!) left our brand new camera in our stateroom. We did Self-Assist disembarking and he was in a hurry to get off quickly ahead of the crowds. We didn't realize until we left the parking lot (not that it would have mattered at that point). He will be calling the 800 number tomorrow, hoping that they will be able to mail it to us. Has anyone else left something valuable behind and had luck getting it returned? Not that the camera was valuable but the pictures on it are priceless......

Just got back today......we had an amazing time! The blowdryer in the room worked great! I ended up packing my own, and never used it!!!! IF you are like me an have thicker hair, do not worry about the dryer in the room! I will not bother to pack my own next time!

Starting my packing......Tell me about the hairdryer.....Is it really good, and strong??? I really don't want pack my own, but I have really thick hair and my hairdryer gets the job done pretty quickly. Will the one in our cabin do the job??? We are in a mid-ship balcony on deck 10.

How will we know when are Stateroom is ready on Embarkation day? What time are they usually ready??

"No" they don't sell daily passes or "No" they do not restrict the number of daily passes/

Can I buy a daily pass to VIBE? I know they restrict the number of weekly passes, and don't really think I would want/need one during the days we are docked in Bermuda. Would love to be able to get one for the At Sea Days. I thought I read you could buy them, but are they restricted in number also?

How about daily passes to VIBE?? I thought I read somewhere that you can purchase daily instead of a weekly pass? Do they restrict those too? I really don't think I will need it during the 3 days we are docked but would love one during At Sea Days>>>>>
