  1. I'm starting my serious research for our upcoming cruise. We'll be in Bar Harbor On October 1. I know that we need to tender from the cruise ship. Do we get dropped off at the Village Green? I'm trying to decide whether or not we should use the Island Explorer. We are the only cruise ship in port that day, so it shouldn't be too busy. It looks like the Explorer is still running most of the scheduled stops/pick ups on this day. I just want to make sure it's easy to get to the starting point. Looks like the way to go.

  2. Okay, so you walk about a block to get the trolley. Where exactly? A block could be in any direction. A street/intersection would be very helpful. I'm probably going to buy tickets ahead of time for our Oct cruise but would like to know where the stop is near the port and also where the ticket booth is.

I am researching this tonight for my late September stop in Boston. Here is some info I found about Old Town Trolley Tours. First, this is directly from the map on the website:

    https://www.trolleytours.com/boston/map

    Massport/Black Falcon Cruise Ship Terminal

11 Drydock Ave, Boston, MA 02210, USA Exit the cruise terminal, turn left and go to the end of the parking lot; you'll see a white tent there.

A huge difference I have found is that the excursion offered through Royal C does NOT include the HOP ON/ HOP OFF option. It is just the 1.75 hour tour according to the description. If you purchase online through the trolley tours site, it's a few dollars cheaper and it includes the HOHO option along with admission to Old State House Museum and the Dreamland Wax Museum. Seems like a much better deal to me since I'd like to get off and explore some of the sights!

I'm still learning a lot for my upcoming cruise, but I hope this has helped!

  3. Tides are dependent on the specific date. The tide time changes about 50 minutes per day.[/quote

Yes. I looked up the tide chart and the 12:06 pm low tide is specific to our port day. The chart specified St. Martins also. Thank you:)

Any opinions on the various excursions?

  4. I'll be on the Grandeur, stopping in St. John, NB in early October. Ever since I've seen pictures of people walking through the Bay of Fundy sea caves at low tide, this has been on my bucket list. There are a few excursions offered by RC, and I'm trying to decide which (if any) is best for my hubby and me. Any opinions are welcome! The three most intriguing are:

    1. St. Martin's and Bay of Fundy-- 5 1/2 hours Starts at 8:30 am.

    2. Big Pink Bus-HOHO (90 minute Route)

    3. St. Martin's and Bay of Fundy Express-3 1/2 hours. Starts at 11:30 am.

I'm not sure if the HOHO gets us to a point where we can see the tide as dramatically as those classic advertising pictures!

If I'm reading the tide correctly, low tide is at 12:06 at St. Martin's. (4.9 feet)

I know nothing about the area other than the little bit I've learned from the shore excursion descriptions. Any help or insight would be much appreciated!!

  5. We're sailing on RC's Grandeur of the Seas. For any other Disney fans out there, I realized that my day to pick pastpasses is our day at sea. Can I buy internet access for just an hour (or a day)? I see the package price of $19.99/day, but that is for a package. I just need an hour on a specific day! Thanks!

  6. You are correct. I found everything you want to know about snorkeling except the price. I did find one mention of price, here is a link ...

Here they are advertising $40 which includes park admission ...

This is the private excursion I am considering. I'm trying to figure out the cost of doing it all on my own, (ie entrance fee $21 minus $2 coupon, plus cost of lunch, plus cost of snorkeling). I just can't find those costs anywhere. Basically, if we do the excursion, we're paying$20pp for lunch and snorkeling, which seems reasonable to me. We'll probably just book it:) Thanks!

  7. I'm looking for some specific information about Chankanaab. Trying to decide whether to just take a taxi and pay to get into the park or go thru a private excursion company which includes entrance, beach chairs (but I think everyone can use all beach chairs), snorkeling equipment, and buffet lunch. Can anyone tell me the separate costs for snorkeling and lunch buffet? I can't find that information anywhere. Thanks!
