  1. Yes!! I'm loving the blogs from this couple. I'm sure their cabin is a couple down from ours (we are on the next cruise to Tassy), I got worried about the noise from above the theatre but remembered there's not much chance we will be sleeping while shows are on we are usually up late. We also watched her leave Sydney on Sunday from the live webcam and I've been watching her movements on marine traffic since she was over in New Zealand.

I can't wait to board in 7 days!!

  2. Calm your judgement people...

Maybe call again and explain what you just said to us, ask why it's not adding up.

Or wait till you are on board and see what the price is then, there maybe a problem with the website. Know your top price your willing to pay and weigh it up at the time.

When you consider coffees, bottled water, alcohol etc. it can still be a financial good plan without being off your rocker.

  3. I can give you a very recent update......on the Golden now in Vanuatu.....only the teak benches on Promenade.

How is it going over there in Vanuatu Cheznandy? As far as the volcano stuff? Are you noticing anything? Your a champ, been really helpful with all our Golden questions. Cheers

  4. Sorry having trouble quoting on tapatalk.

But will try and answer .......beers from $5.50 to $8, vodka and soda $7.75.

Bottle of wine at dinner started from $30 but not much choice at that price range.

Thanks for that. Some food for thought. I'd have to drink 12 Vodka/sodas to break even, any less in 24hrs and I'll be paying more.

  5. I am onboard the Golden now.....yes the AIBP is $86 AUD.per day....cocktails $13.95 and the drinks in Skywalkers elite/suite etc are $8.50.

Hey do you know how much a basic Vodka/soda and a full strength beer cost? We'll be on soon and just weighing it all up.

I'm not impressed. Price up and add a limit! At least before you could have a big day then a slow day and it would even out, now your slow day will cost you maybe. And uping the drink price to $16.00... We don't want anything that expensive, i'd be on the floor HAHA!!

I've worked out if you drink 15 drinks they will be $5.80 each... 10 drinks $8.70... 5 drinks $17.40...

  6. I live in Darwin and have so most my life. March will be (hopefully) cooler, but in recent years nothing is for sure. Rain will be welcomed up here always so don't fear the rain and if your lucky to see a lightning and thunder storm you will LOVE it. I have no idea how it is on a ship though haha, view would be fantastic. We locals love a great storm. Not sure about that many locals leaving in the wet. Darwin is a tourist town, the tourist always clear out in the wet due to the heat and in turn because there are no jobs (with no tourist hospitality drops and not a lot of construction due to rain). As far as cyclone season both dates are included from the north queensland to north WA. I personal wouldn't let that effect my decision, it's like rolling dice.

  7. It will be my first cruise in November, also as a single parent with my 9 year old son. I can't wait and think it is a great option to cruise as a single parent, very safe and organised, kids clubs, friendly people to meet.

I'm not at all worried about being on our own (we have been for many years now) and he is also very excited.

It is not our first holiday or even overseas holiday together and I always have a letter from his father, birth cert. and passports. I've never needed the letter but would rather have it and not need it then it become an issue.

This thread just reminded me to ask his father for the letter so cheers for that :) message has been sent.
