We had a refreshment package on Pacific Eden, that included mocktails. I only had one but then discovered the big range of iced coffees / chocolates etc. Was a number of flavours available and I didn't go looking any further for mocktails. Didn't seem to be much on offer anyway.

We had the package on Pacific Eden a couple of months ago. There were a number of different coffee / latte / mocha type drinks. Both hot and cold.
Didn't find much available in the mocktail department but didn't try again after liking some of the iced coffee type offerings.

Heading off on Pacific Eden on Monday for a Tassie cruise. Will be sure to say goodbye.

Hi glad to hear you enjoyed Eden just wondering we are going on our first cruise in dec for new year cruise 12 days . Couple of questions to anyone that has been on the Eden do you pay for drinks during meal times water soft drink etc I know you pay for alcohol but not sure of anything else is it a good idea to get drinks package as I do like a good couple of coffees a day also we have a 15yr old in our cabin that I think is sleeping on the lounge he is 6foot will he be comfortable . Sorry to ask so many questions but really excited thanks in advance:cool:
The coffee in the Waterfront is free at mealtimes, as is water. The coffee from the machines in the Pantry is FOUL! Drink at your peril.
Enjoy your cruise.

Thank you Catjim :-) kangaroo island is amazing! i drove by myself from alice springs about 4 years ago in a getz and spent about 5 days there. totally totally amazing place!
Didn't actually get on to Kangaroo Island as it was too rough. Only got to 'admire from afar'. Wasn't a big deal as it was more about the cruise really. Might visit there some time in the future.

We did a four night cruise to Kangaroo Island a couple of months ago. Loved Pacific Eden and would have no hesitation in sailing on her again.
Enjoy your cruise.

We've just done a four night cruise on Pacific Eden to Kangaroo Island. Can't help you with the cruise that you are going on, but can help you with the ship.
Go with an open mind and don't take too much notice of the reviews. We loved the ship and our time away. The public areas of the ship are nicely decorated, with many bars and places to sit and chill.
We mainly ate at the Waterfront Restaurant and loved all the food offerings. We went straight there when we boarded and made a booking for the same time each night. We went on Pacific Dawn last year, so knew the ropes. We didn't try Angelos or Dragon Lady and did Salt Grill on the last cruise, so didn't bother with that one either.
We were in a balcony cabin, right at the back of Deck 10 (Cabin 10099). I was initially mildly concerned at the location, but if we go on the same ship again, we would happily book that cabin again. It was a great spot.
The only thing we didn't like was the coffee from the machines in The Pantry. It is VILE! No better on Pacific Dawn.
Hope you have a wonderful trip.

We finished a cruise on Pacific Eden yesterday and were allotted a late disembarkation time. We just swapped our tags at reception for an earlier time. We took our baggage off with us which also saved time.
-
Well, have just returned from staying in Cabin 10099 on Pacific Eden.
Great location. At a dead end of the hallway, behind the lifts and near a staircase.
It was very quiet. The 'bar' marked on the deckplan is actually a storeroom and the pantry was a couple of cabins further forward.
All in all, very happy and had a great time.

Heading to Kangaroo Island next week on Pacific Eden and we've been assigned Cabin 10099. We took a cabin guarantee and new that it would likely be towards the rear of the ship, so not surprised.
Cabin 10099 is directly under the Pantry and behind a bar near the pool.
Just wondering if anyone has stayed in that cabin or one near it and how noisy it will be?

The statement "'For your safety, we don’t allow the use of electrical appliances, so leave those at home too" was written with regards to things like hair dryers, straighteners, irons and so on - things that you find in the appliance section of a department/electrical store.
No problem with laptops.
Brilliant, thank you

Thanks Oxenford. No guarantees on the experience of this idiot either.

I cannot see why not.. I took my laptop on the pearl, and my iphone and my ipad.. not a problem..
Thanks Sanjanjo
In the FAQs it says:
'For your safety, we don’t allow the use of electrical appliances, so leave those at home too'
AND
'Electricity on Pacific Dawn, Pacific Jewel and Pacific Pearl 50 Hz (Hertz) is the standard electricity frequency in Australia. Our ships can only deliver electricity at 60 Hz and can’t change the frequency (Hertz) of the power supply. A transformer converts electricity to different voltages and will not alter the supplied frequency. Most Australian electrical equipment designed to work at 50 Hz won’t work on our ships or will be damaged if used.'
My charger says that it's 50 - 60 Hz so should be OK.
I just didn't want to get there to embark and have them say 'oh no, you can't take that onboard'.
Anyone else have any experience?

I am going on Pacific Dawn in a couple of weeks and very excited.
Am I allowed to take my laptop on board? There seems to be conflicting information.
I will already have it with me, so is a bit of a problem if I can't.

peter.kath, it is Yorkey's Knob and not Cairns.
It hadn't occurred to me that we might not actually hit land, so thank you for that warning. Definitely something we need to keep in mind.

We are going on our first ever cruise in November, Brisbane, Airlie Beach, Cairns, Port Douglas, Brisbane. Very excited!
Has anyone done any shore tours that they have arranged themselves, as opposed to those offered by P&O?
Probably going to do the Kuranda Skyrail / Railway from Cairns so looking at options for Airlie Beach and Port Douglas.

The refreshment package includes quite a few different hot and iced chocolates / coffees.
We didn't bother with it on our last cruise, as I found I was drinking multiple iced drinks per day, just because I could.
Iced water is available at multiple bars and I just bought the odd drink throughout the day. Ended up cheaper and better for me.
