Ms411 I read your post, thanks, I wouldn't have a problem. Others may want to stick with Lindbergh Bay if staying close to Crown...
@Blue_water, what are your thoughts on Morning Star beach vs Emerald? we have a 3 year old and a 1 year old and don't want to go to far from Havensight, but still want a safe beach with bathrooms and restaurant. The airport sounds like it would be fun for the 3 year old, how often do flights come in?

You might also want to ask on the Ports of Call boards.
I'm definitely searching those boards also!

Does Curtain Bluff allow children? I have a 1 and 3 year old, and looking for a nice safe calm beach for us to enjoy, with bathrooms!

Hi!
We are looking for a calmer beach to take our 1 and 3 year old to on our cruise. We love Magens Bay in St. Thomas, but we don't have enough time in port this cruise to make it there. What suggestions do you have for St. Lucia, Antigua or St. Kitts? resorts or beaches or beach clubs, we are open to anything. thank you for your help!
-
we bring a small inflatable pool/bathtub, and you can put it on your balcony or next to your chairs on the pool deck and it is a fantastic option for kids who aren't allowed in the big pools. 15/10 highly recommend.

Yes, but you have to either pay the regular price for the specialty restaurant or use one of your dining package credits for it.
@Gymbomb, I saw in your signature that you cruise with a baby, this is our first cruise with our 13month old. We are nervous about him and dinner time, so thought in room dining might be best. Do you have any suggestions for cruising with a baby?

Can you order specialty dining to your room? Does the butler set this up?

Coco Brown is a driver who has multiple vehicles at his disposal because his family is involved and they have many vehicles. They often do VIP transport.
Try emailing him at cocobrown1967@yahoo.com. If he can't help you post and I may have another suggestion.
Thank you!!! I just emailed him!

Hi, we have a short day in port (7am-1pm), and want to get to a beach (probably Magens). We are 4 adults and 1 baby so we do not want one of the open back pickups. We want to book in advance so we can maximize our beach time. Does anyone have a company or tour group that might fit the bill?
-
I was thinking about this excursion too until I read the review on the NCL website, it sounded bad, I think we'll take the water taxi/ferry for $7 instead.
-
Hi, What is the closest beach to the port? We are only in port until 1pm so we don't want to waste time commuting. We have a 1year old, so we definitely need to rent an umbrella. Thank you!
-
Hi, Looking to have a beach day with our son, who is one. Something with a gentle slope into the water and plenty of shade (we don't mind renting an umbrella) ideally not too far from port. Thank you in advance!

Besides we found fantastic pricing on day resort passes in St Kitts and St Lucia so we still came in underbudget for our week. (both that allowed us in before 10am)
What resort did you do in St Lucia? Would you recommend it?

Hi,
We have 3 days in NYC for sightseeing before our cruise. It will be February, and we are bringing a stroller and wearable carrier. What are some family friendly ideas for sightseeing, restaurants, tours etc? We are staying near Columbus Circle and appreciate any and all ideas!!
We are a family of 6 adults and a 13month old. This will be our first cruise with baby, and we're pretty excited. I'm loving the tips on this board, like bringing a mini inflatable pool!
-
we are arriving at 11:30am on a Wednesday in February, to avoid rush hours. Are taxi-vans common in the taxi line? I agree, one taxi and one car service mini van would be ideal. thank you so much!

I saw the below on a different thread, and am going to share here. cross posting always helps me hopefully someone else too! I think we are going to go the taxi route, due to the baby and not wanting to take a bus to a separate lot for the van pick up.

NYC Airporter buses that I've seen often on nearby highways/parkways, living near LGA, are typically like customized mid-size buses on heavy duty Mack-truck chasis ... and ADA compliant for NYC codes, as I recall. Arriving in the middle of a winter, mid-week morning rush hour ... OP will be joining commuters heading to work in Manhattan, expect the usual rush hour traffic congestion ... yellow taxi will be on a metered fare + tolls, probably about $40 to $45, could be higher if idling or gridlocked to a near standstill, and, add tipping for the driver. Taxi is good for 3 pax + 3 large pc. of luggage, maybe more if you can get a taxi-van, no extra charge or fees, etc. - curbside in front of airline terminal to hotel's un/loading zone.
Carmel, Dial 7 and all other FHV (For Hired Vehicle) require a free & quick shuttle bus ride (Green Route) from terminal's curbside to the nearby designated parking lot to meet the car/driver for the trip to hotel/destination.
NYC Airporter offers free dropoff to midtown hotels via multiple shuttle routes, once you are in Manhattan, either near/by Grand Central Terminal on East Side/Bryant Park-Park Ave. South; or, Port Authority Bus Terminal on west side of town. You will need to transfer from the larger bus into these shuttles, mostly full-sized vans i.e. Ford - for that last 1/2 or 1 or 2 mile, as listed on their route schedules. The wait can be anywhere from none to short, or long if the shuttle just left.
Early January in NYC and be bitterly cold, occassionally (unlikely, but) with possible near-blizzard, stormy conditions and strong north wind blowing ... not fun to be standing or waiting 15 or 30 minutes for free hotel shuttle transfer. For a solo traveler, it's a money saver ... but with 2 or more, I would spend a little more and take Carmel or Dial 7; and, if mobility is an issue - getting to the remote parking lot with the airport shuttle, can be a pain - get into the taxi queue line and go direct, curbside to curbside.
Waze and/or other real-time traffic/navigation App will show the best route & likely ETA from airport to hotel ... 45 minutes or less in travel time would be good to excellent, as we used to commute daily.

or 3 cabs? we are going to the theater district. if a van is $160 + tip, how much is a cab and we can take 3?
-
Hi, is a car service our best option? a Van? We arrive around 11am and will have regular luggage plus a car seat, stroller etc. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience you can share? Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated!

so where does a garden villa fall in the owners suite / regular suite free mini fridge continuum?
-
are you able to have specialty restaurant dinner in your suite? obviously you would pay the upcharge.

I just called Sandals and they confirmed they are closed until December 16th. I then emailed The Verandah and have requested reservations for two day passes for our cruise next month. No swim up bar, but it has great reviews.
What does the Verandah charge for a day pass?

Dial 7 and JR Luxury were both recommended based on luggage and people, anyone have experience?
Hi, what are your experiences with shuttles/transfers etc. out of LGA for this many people AND luggage? We are interested in something direct, and if possible, not having to bring our own car seat for the baby. All responses are very much appreciated! -
