  1. Hi,

We are leaving in 6 days from Baltimore on the Pride. Our boarding time is 2-2:30. The ship is leaving at 5:00 PM.

Can we choose to just take our suit cases to our room? Does that make sense of will it be a major pain? We are fit enough to do it, just not sure why it seems most people don't.

Will it actually take longer for us to get through security as we will need to still have the suit cases go through x-ray, etc.

I saw that lunch is only served on Lido deck until 3:00. Will we be able to still be able to get a Guy's Burger or taco on deck?

    Thanks!

    Excited!

  2. So I am relatively new here, and this will be my second Carnival Cruise. After booking my cruise on the Pride sailing in October, I received an email offer for a Carnival Master card in which I will get 20,000 bonus fun points, plus 1 point for every dollar spent on purchases and 2 points for every $1 spent on Carnival Cruise line purchases. So I just got the card and started using it. BUT now I'm confused... What do I do with these points?

For example if I want to purchase an excursion (approximately $200 per person) and charge it to this card, then I will get approximately 400 fun points, which are worth what to me? Surely not worth $400.

Will I be able to use the points as a credit to pay off the credit card after my cruise? OR only on a future cruise?

  3. Hi, I have been on both and thought that Carnival had better food than Royal Caribbean. I thought RC was more like hospital food (bland and boring) whereas Carnival was more creative / interesting (which I like). I guess it just depends on what you are looking for.

  4. Good morning, we went on a Carnival cruise to Canada about 2 or 3 years ago (on the Sunshine). We did the Cheers package and struggled to get our money's worth. Now, honestly that was in October and going to Canada is not the hot blazing sun, sitting around the pool type of trip.

Anyway, while on the cruise, they offered a 10 Drink Card. I don't remember the cost but we felt it was a good idea and wished we knew about it, and that would have suited us much better. Has anyone ever heard of this? I've been trying to search for more information but can't find anything on it.

Maybe it was offered because it was late October and it was not a crazy drinking crowd, so they were trying to drum up some business.

    Thanks!!!

  5. Good morning! So if I purchase a bottle of gin and some tonic water to be delivered to my room, then do I have to do all my drinking in my room? How do I get to enjoy the beverage I just purchased at the pool for example?

Also thinking about those who pack the Rum Runner into your suitcase, then what do you do with it? Just drink in your room?

    Thanks!!!

  6. I was just on the Sunshine last weekend. I purchased the top internet package with the hopes of being able to help out at work if needed (I work in I.T.). Yes you can use your computer. The internet is okay for doing necessary things like email, but don't expect a solid connection. I couldn't load several sites that I need to use, and the internet timed out frequently. I believe that package was 60 dollars. Was it worth it? Maybe.

Next time I'll just leave my cpu at home, and lock my phone in the safe for the trip :)... because that's where they stayed even with the internet package, haha.

I can't believe I'm even asking this as I promised I would not work on this trip, but stressing a little-- Will I be able to purchase this plan on the ship? I would bring my own laptop. And the $60 fee is for the whole trip?

    thanks!!

  7. Hi,

I have a question on the disembarkation process. Can someone explain the choice of either taking your own luggage off the ship yourself, or leaving it outside of your cabin? I have only been on one cruise nearly 20 years ago, and we had no choice - had to leave the luggage outside the cabin the night before.

What are the benefits/or disadvantages? We are healthy and used to dealing with our luggage so that is not an issue.

I am trying to avoid standing in a long line to get off the ship, and would rather either hustle before everyone OR (even better) enjoy breakfast, call our taxi and then get off in a more leisurely manner. Is that possible?

And now that I think about it, when we are in port at St. John/Halifax, can we get off when we wish, or are there times assigned?

    Thanks!

    Angie

  8. Hi, we will be going on our first cruise in 16 years... so it's been a long time...

I am really interested in the gift cards, but feel a bit confused.

If I purchase a few of these gift cards, I understand they will be emailed to me. So how do I use them? Do I print the email and bring it with me? I was hoping to use for drinks.

    Thanks!!
