Hello!  We’re looking to catch a cab to a nearby beach for the majority of the day.  Seems like Fort James and Dickenson Bay are both highly rated.  Which beach does everyone recommend?  Nearby beach bar/food would be a plus.  Beach chairs/umbrellas for rent aren’t a necessity.  Thanks!

Have a family member in a two person cabin unable to make the trip last minute due to a career change. We’re obviously way past the final payment date.  Seems to be the prevailing advice is to simply make her a no-show and they’ll refund the port charges and prepaid gratuity, which is perfectly fine.
 

Has anyone ever asked them to simply apply that amount towards onboard credit for that cabin instead of a refund to the credit card used to pay the initial payments?

I was wondering if anyone had some insight on whether or not Carnival will open up any more slots for faster to the fun on the 12/2/17 sailing? I'm checking their website daily now, but I'm afraid I missed out. It certainly sold

out faster than the other cruises I've been on...

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm sure that the upgrade being offered is a great deal, just being conscious of excursions that we've planned and other trip costs. Wish I could take advantage, but don't think its wise to this time around. Perhaps another time...

Hello all!

Leaving 10/17 on the Elation with the whole fam-damily (7 between two cabins :eek:). Over the past two weeks, have gotten 3 or 4 calls attempting to sell an upgrade from our OV (6D) room to a grand suite. The cost for the first two phone calls was $500 (for some reason, the one today was for $600). I've declined all the offers, although I'll listen to them as they call. Does anyone know if these amounts are negotiable? Has anyone offered a lesser amount and had them accept? This is the first cruise I've ever been on where I've been called about upgrading. While I wouldn't mind the extra room, I'm not sure it's worth that for us. We're the type that wouldn't use the balcony much and aren't in the room much except for showering and sleeping!
