  1. Really all depends on what you currently have vs what they are offering and what you like or want. Normally it is a pretty set offer. Cabin # etc.. Think just about all the cruises I have been on they offered something else. But I picked the cabin originally for a reason.
  2. If you did this through the Barclay's site with the Carnival Mastercard. You will not see it until you are on the ship. You sometimes get a slip of paper in your cabin that shows it as well. But it will show on the Sail & Sign account once on board on the day you said to deliver it. Which is one of the questions it asks during the redeem process for the Cruise Cash/Bar Cash/Photo etc.. depending on what you picked.
  3. On the beignets topic my son agreed they did taste the same on the Sunshine as what we had on the Mardi Gras. He had no desire to order then again, yet he had then every day on the Mardi Gras.
  4. My wife and I go on a cruise(and only been on Carnival) for a simple reason. It is the time to just not worry about anything, relax, eat, & drink. That is what real life is for, to worry about the day to day things. Meeting others on board and having random conversations while having a drink has become our new favorite past time.
  5. Our first cruise on the Mardi Gras was in the Havana cabins(Balcony) I would not do it again, not worth the prices when compared to how much less you get vs the Vista class Havana. That is my major CON.
  6. 1st and only time we saw a fight was on the Breeze out of Miami in Aug. First & last time we will be cruising out of Miami, by far the worst cruise we have been on.
  7. We took a Christmas cruise on the Legend. Noticeable differences: MDR Christmas menu, Decorations around the ship, got a Santa Hat at the Platinum/Diamond party. Oh. and there will be more children running around.
  8. They are available for free once. It is not part of the YTD with the MDR dinning, but you do have to check in for them.
  9. Don't get me wrong, will continue to use it. Like getting the beach when the sun is not fully overhead. 30 more days and will be at HMC again!
  10. Not sure how much of a perk this is. You end up sitting for awhile waiting for everyone else to board. Sure you are not standing in line to wait. But now you are just waiting in the sun(maybe) and on a bobbing boat.
  11. Use to take a Bonine at night, and that worked great. But anymore we really do not need it, love when the seas are a bit rough. Cruise more! 😄
  12. I was wondering that myself when I saw this when we were there. All for a pier vs a tender, but that could be a long walk to the beach area. My guess is they will expand the shopping and offer a shuttle ride, like other long piers do(Bimini). Have to pay for that pier somehow...
  13. Our last cruise out of Charleston, our adult sons went with us and had their own cabin. They are Gold we are Platinum, we just decided to go in line with them. But what was funny was the people standing in front of us had an arrival time of 2:30pm yet it was 11am and there they were. So guess it depends on the port as well, not sure how strictly 'rules' are enforced. The one thing I was told at guest services was concerning the tenders(water shuttle) they were able to go with us to the meeting point and get on with us, same with debarkation. They also told me that we 'should' have been able to board at the same time, considering we traveled together and were family. But where do they draw the line then, a bus load of people could be family and they traveled together, one persons status gets everyone the status ?
  14. If I recall it is just their brands Thirsty Frog Red, Caribbean Wheat, Parched Pig and I think Miller Lite.
  15. A spa balcony for $226. That is a good deal, it gives you unlimited access to the Thermal Suite. area. Which is I believe is normally like $30 a day per person. Plus you get the better soap and shampoos in the cabin. Also less crowded up there, with different decor as well.
  16. On our 1st Mardi Gras cruise back in Sept 2021. We did eat breakfast in Cucina. But in the 2 times since then I do not recall it as an option. And a recent Fun Times search does not show it as open until 5:30pm. Maybe that was a post-Covid thing to spread people out more, because I believe ChiBang was also a breakfast option. In either case it was the same menu as eating in the MDR for breakfast.
  17. Cucina del Capitano on non-excel ships is so much better. Better options and the food is just better. But free is free I guess. My only issue is if people are not happy with the free option, will they then not try it when they have to pay for it on other ships. They will not know what they are missing out on.
  18. Does it say you can not use it as the 1st drink? What if your first drink is a soda or some less pricey drink. But still far better than last seaday brunch drink they were doing.. Never used that once.
  19. Redeeming the points on your CC for the Cruise Cash/Bar Cash will not show up until you are onboard. It will show up on your Sail & Sign account then. We do it ever cruise, have yet to have an issue with it.
  20. Guess I am confused a little by this. I find it hard to believe they would not let you eat in the MDR... That's is what it is for, when you do not want or can not get early or late. The App will just not work when you want to check in for dinner ? Would love to know if this has happened to someone. I have never seen or heard of it.
  21. Been using the OBC with Barclay's for years never had an issue. Always there 1st day.
  22. The only time I recall slow bar service is when they have other events going on. The worst was the New Years party on the Sunshine. Redfrog Pub had 1 bartender working, because everyone else was pulled to hand out the free 'champagne'. But she handled it like a pro.
  23. You should see it on your boarding pass as well when you have access to them. For Example:
  24. Love Emeril's. Well worth the upcharge.
  25. Tote Bags on the Sunshine when we were on in May.
