Mears has a stand at the airport. They have 10 passenger vans (not sure if you have to book in advance or not).
The company we use is STAR TRANS-VIP. I know they have 10 passenger vans too, but you have to make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance. Unfortunately, i do not know prices. I would call several companies and see which option makes more sense.

Two options:
1. rent a car.
2. use a transportation company that offers luggage storage (i recommend STAR TRANS-VIP).
Here are some places to visit: Disney Springs, Florida Mall, Gatorland, airboat tours, there are a bunch of attractions on International drive (Orlando Eye, Wonder Works, Believe or not and other). Seaworld is not a very large park.
2:30 is a bit early. You will be just fine arriving to MCO around 3:30 pm.

No, same as the last time this was asked two weeks ago
I did not ask this question two weeks ago. I found out that drones can not be used on the cruise ship, but i was not sure if they can be used at the port of call / beach. Obviously it is impossible. Glad i asked.

ohhhh...no! I did not know that. My husband will have to leave his toy at home : )
Thank you, guys!
-
As i understand you are not allowed to use drones on the cruise ship.
Is it possible to bring it with us and use it on the beach only?

I'm not a fan of shared shuttles too. STAR TRANS-VIP is a good company. We've been using them for many years. We use them to get to and from the port and also during business trips (builders and IAAPA conventions in Orlando).
They do not charge for car seats and provide a free grocery stop. Definitely a reliable company.
Here is their site - http://www.startransvip.com/

Cocoa Beach has several beaches where you will find seashells. We usually go to the beach near "Coconuts on the Beach" (restaurant), but you won't find any seashells there (too crowded). Last time we went to the beach right next to the Patrick Air Force Base and kids collected two buckets of large...huge seashells. My husband was not happy cause he could not play with his drone on that beach (air base was too close), but our kids were super excited.

I've never heard of them.
Lately i do not believe reviews at all. People like to complain for any reason and post negative reviews hoping to get a refund or some kind of compensation. Good reviews are sometimes written by the company itself.
I've never used Cocoa Beach Shuttle myself, but i believe i've seen many positive reviews here on Cruisecritic.

We use STAR TRANS-VIP
I do not know how their prices compare to other transportation companies, but the service is great.
What i really like about them is the fact that they provide luggage storage. We leave the port at 9 am, but the flight is usually around 7,8 or 9 pm. We go to parks or a mall and they store our bags. Very convenient.

Not entirely true. They must be used in cabs and van style shuttles.
I did my research at that time. I even called Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles office .
From the document they provided: "The child restraint requirements imposed by this section do not apply to a chauffeur-driven taxi, limousine, sedan, van, bus, motor coach, or other passenger vehicle if the operator and the motor vehicle are hired and used for the transportation of persons for compensation."

I prefer private car. It is definitely the most expensive option, but worth it. I recommend Star Trans-VIP
Very dependable company. Not sure if you are traveling with kids or not, but they provide free car seats.
-
We use STAR TRANS-VIP. They provide car seats for free and their rates are not bad at all. Used them many times - reliable company!
-
Unfortunately, by Florida law, you do not have to use car seats in commercial vehicles (taxi, bus or any other). Uber is not a commercial vehicle - have to have a car seat.
-
There are several nice hotels right by the airport (free shuttle from MCO). Depending on your budget choose between shared shuttle (as low as $20 per person), car rental ($...depends on the season) or a private car (the company we use will charge around $135.00) to get to the port.
-
If you are on a tight budget and the main goal of your trip is to relax - choose Cocoa Beach.
We usually stay in Orlando before of after the cruise. But it is more expensive and pointless if you are not planning to visit attractions/parks.
-
My kids are older now, but when they were little, i used to hire a private company from Orlando to Port (they provide car seats for free) - 1.15 hour drive. I've never seen people taking car seats with them on the cruise. You can just hold them. No car seat required. Even in Florida you do not have to use one in a commercial vehicle.
-
Definitely stay in Orlando area for 3 days and go to the port the day of your departure. Not sure if you are coming with kids or not, but there are plenty of options...
-
If you want to spend a day at the beach, rent a hotel in Cocoa Beach. If not...i would stay at one of the hotels right by the port.
-
All day after the cruise? Or are you arriving the day before the cruise? Cocoa beach has several attractions, but all of them are outdoors. Too hot. After the cruise we usually go to Orlando area. Kids loved Disney Springs and Orlando EYE. A couple of years ago i was on the cruise with my girlfriends and we went to Mall at Millenia after the cruise...

If you need a car seat, $25 is not bad (its $20 for the trip itself). By Florida law you do not have to use car seats in taxi/commercial vehicles...maybe just skip car seat and get a regular cab? Please, do not start throwing rotten eggs at me for saying this. I have two kids as well, but sometimes i think it is ok ...especially if your destination is 3 miles away.
-
Skip breakfast and take care of your luggage yourself and you will be fine. I've seen people with flights as early at 10 am.

There is another post with the same question - http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2540409.

Looks like fun!!!!! I guess it is for older kids and adults. My babies are still too young for this type of activity.
It could be a good idea for people coming to Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach the day before their cruise.

Wow...good for you. I guess it is much easier when you have no kids : ) With our 2 children i would not even dare to visit more than one park. We used park hopped in the past (with one kid) , but i was barely breathing by the end of the day.
