  1. It was $119/person, but the owner ended up giving back $50 (which we just added to the tip for the crew). Well worth it! The snorkeling was great, and the boat goes fast. The kids will love that. Let them know ahead of tine what type of beverages you like, so they can stock the cooler( we were 12 adult males, so a little higher alcohol content. Lol)

  2. By Captain Alan, do you mean Billy bones charters? We took them last month and had a great experience. There were 12 of us so we basically chartered a boat, but pretty much kept to the published itinerary. Absolutely no complaints. I wrote a review of them on this site

Hey there! How much was it for your group of 12? I just sent them a quote request and we have 6 adults and 6 kids. Thanks!

  3. This is only our 3rd cruise, and 2nd within the last 5 years. Wondering if there’s any use in stalking the website for better rates on say a suite when we’re about 70ish days out. We got a great deal on an Oceanview Balcony on Allure in May when the Kids Sale Free came back, but I keep checking just in case we can get in a suite, or a guaranteed suite, for a few bucks more. So my question is, I’ve seen people say they can’t upgrade within a certain period of time. Am I wasting my time even looking?

  4. We're sailing in April! Actually we've done guarantees many times, and most of the times got higher than the lowest category in (unfortunately) the same guarantee that we booked. Only once did we get upgraded from an oceanview to a balcony. And the last 3 or 4 times we've done guarantees with Royal we got a cabin assigned within a day or two of booking. With Princess we've had to wait for weeks sometimes, and usually got the lowest category within the guarantee. I don't know if being Diamond with Royal has anything to do with it.

    Good luck on your assignment!

  5. So I read another post about Stateroom Guarantee not really being a guarantee and now I’m completely freaked! I booked an Ocean View Balcony Guarantee on Allure in May. First time not having a room assigned. Traveling with 2 other families - we’re all so thrilled. When I called in to get linked up to our family, I was told that we have a room category assigned. Is this a good sign? In my obsessed digging online I don’t see any of this category still available. OVB guarantee is also no longer an option.

I can get an OVB assigned but it’s about $800 more ☹️

I had no idea having a GUARANTEED Room could mean that you could be downgraded or have no room at all. 62 days till be cruise and I am going to go bonkers worrying about this. Someone talk me down!!

  6. Long story short, originally booked an inside on Adventure because it was cheap(er). 3 days later saw the prices for balconies dropped - called to book, no go due to going going gone sale I'm not eligible for the cheap price :loudcry:. Called again few days later after noticing a different sale, guarantee balcony available for ... 12 dollars more than I originally booked the inside!! Whooping glee, tell the agent yes, please charge my CC $12 more for a BALCONY!!

Balcony assigned a few days later - 6388. It's a huge win due to the larger balcony in the shade, I'm cruising with an elderly grandmother who cannot handle the sun whatsoever. She'll be able to enjoy the fresh Caribbean air without concern. And if you're curious why she's going to the Caribbean not being able to handle the sun - special celebration for other family members.

Oddly enough 6388 is the only aft balcony cabin not listed as having an obstruction. Wondering if that's an oversight, and also what is the obstruction for the all the other aft cabins that doesn't seem to touch 6388.

Either way, guarantee to an E1 is great for us, no complaints, thank you RCCL!

When do you sale!? I’m waiting for my guarantee to be assigned. I’m not good at it at all [emoji51]

  7. Caribbean water temperatures don't fluctuate very much. In Cozumel, the range is 77°-82°F (25°-28°C). Of course, on a hot, sunny day it is always more pleasant than on a cold, cloudy day. :)

You're right. I'm going to gamble on it since the weather could change between now and next Friday. Hate to spend $$ on an excursion and not enjoy because of the temps. Thanks!

  8. Just checked Cruise Planner and the all day pass for the Dragon Tail Coaster says online resis not available. I assume that means sold out? And if so do you think it will open up once on the ship? And last question - if I buy the one ride pass can I upgrade it to the all day if it is available?? TIA
