When we were on the Star to Hawaii, we used anytime dining. Yes there was a long line. It took less than 10 minutes to get a table. No big deal. It's the same wait you'd have at a restaurant at home waiting for a table to open up. We like to eat early and were usually there at 5:30. Really it was not a problem. We liked it because we didn't have to rush back from shore to a set time to eat, we could take a nap and eat later, we had a lot of different people to dine with, those we liked we made arrangements to sit with again. Those who spent the meal loudly talking about making Murica great again, we didn't have to ever eat with again.

There are also multiple glasses cases for those of us who wear sunglasses, reading glasses, regular glasses or glasses in other colours. https://www.amazon.com/Eyeglasses-Sunglasses-Storage-Leather-Slots/dp/B006C8NIPS

For those mentioning cross body bags, there is the ultimate in ease and coolness. The Sash Bag. I have two! One black leather and one purple. They call it the "anti-purse". It's so comfy I forget I'm wearing it. It has inner zipped compartments for passports and I keep my change in one of those. There would be room for glasses in protective cases, one in each major compartment. https://www.thesashbag.com or in Canada https:/www.sashbag.ca

If you aren't locked into Carnival, try Princess. We're booked on the Crown Princess 2019 in a cruise called Southern Caribbean Medley. Ft Lauderdale-Aruba-Curacao-Grenada-Dominica-St. Thomas-Grand Turks-Ft. Lauderdale. Princess' food is wonderful, there have been, so far, no drunken youths in all our cruises, which Carnival cannot claim. It's the party line. It doesn't have the rock climbing, ice skating sky diving bruhaha, Princess is quiet elegance, great kids' programs, sultry jazz, Broadway caliber shows and so far wonderful service. It's for grown ups.

Does anyone have recommendations for the best cooling neck scarf, the kind you get wet and snap to engage? Or any other keep cool tips would be appreciated.

I love the cheeky door decorations. I saw a lot of them in the mini-suite areas. Not the door itself but the mail basket. I've put up Canadian flags before and happy anniversary images. I love the idea above of "This is our happily ever after" sign! Why not decorate? It brings a smile to people's faces. I can only feel sorry for the grumpy Guys above who seem to hate it when people decorate their doors. It's a form of creative celebration. Enjoy!

Most people like the Southern Caribbean cruises. We're going there next Jan on our favourite cruise line, Princess.

Yes. That must be the accessible suite. Nice.

no, the link didn't work.

Are the showers in the gym/spa out in the open or private showers?
-
That's good to know. I'm a large lady and it's a tiny shower. I didn't see how that would be anything but miserable.

Between the dark history (Inquisition) and the pickpockets, I think we'll just stay aboard our beautiful, clean, safe ship. We're mostly in it for the sea days anyway.

The cruise line suggests no jeans. Employees of the cruise line, like speakers, cannot wear jeans.

I asked the Captain of the Star Princess what they had planned and he said taking up carpets, replacing some shaft in the engine room, replacing the beds with the Princess luxury beds.

I just sailed on the Star Princess. I didn't measure it but it seemed about 20-22" high. About my knee level. It wasn't a deep tub and they have two handy grab bars so rough seas can be handled.
Hawaii end of March....what should I pack?

Think HOT. It's always at least 80 there and sometimes hotter. And it's humid. Think crinkle cotton, shorts, flowy dresses and skimpy tops. I bought a lot of Alohawear at the shops at the Polynesian Cultural Centre on Oahu. They had the best selection of Hawaiian sun dresses, shirts, tees that I've seen anywhere. Touristy, sure but nice stuff. A local could tell you where to shop off the tourist trail. They have plenty of plus sizes in Hawaii, yay me! And they know how to dress for the heat.
