  1. So he provides valid data, and you claim anyone can come up with data. Then you change your tune to say that 1% is still a lot of people?? Sounds like you know you lost but you are going to continue to sounds ridiculous.

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23648697

This is a legitimate study by Dr. Peter Gibson, who was actually one of the first people to come up with a study that showed NCGS might be a real condition. However he later discovered flaws in his original study, and went back and did the study linked above, that showed that there is no such thing as NCGS.

Basically what that means is if you don't have Celiac, Gluten won't harm you, no matter what you may think. Sure you can feel better cutting out Gluten, but that is due to the fact that you start watching the food that yo eat, and start cutting out junk food.

For those without Celiac, it is absolutely a fad. If you want to follow it, and it makes you feel better, that's fine. However, it's not a necessity for those outside the 1%.

    OK. Thank you.

  2. These are pro-gluten free sites stating that information. Your comparison to 9/11 conspiracies, moon landing hoax believers, etc is ludicrous.

I just clicked this one, http://www.beyondceliac.org/celiac-disease/facts-and-figures/. They say 1 in 133 has celiac disease then claim 1% has it. One in 133 is barely .75% and they round up by 35% to make it sound like more.

The VAST majority of people worried about gluten have no clue what it even is - just following what they think is the latest fad. Yes, for 0.75% of the population it is real, but for the rest? Sorry, just a fad.

Are you going to continue to regurgitate data from from some other site that that is taken completely of context?

Your still talking about 3 million Americans alone truly have Celiac. Nearly 3x the amount of the US population that has HIV. Is HIV A FAD too?

Yet with such a small segment of the population having HIV. Should we stop checking the blood supply because the numbers are so low?

But, I know you know everything. You can't debate ignorance. So I guess I lose .

Nplease point me to some places that show different numbers.

There are also those who believe the holocaust never happened, 9/11was an inside conspiracy and the moon landing was a staged hoax.

Would you like me to send you links for that garbage too?

See you got caught here. Now your going way over the top to make a

Point you will lose on. But go ahead, provide your data.

  4. This is also a huge concern with anyone with food allergies. Whenever your eating in a buffet area, the chances of cross contamination is exponentially increased.

Like anything else, you can never be 100% safe. Especially when the overwhelming majority of us do not have dietary concerns. And simply don't realize or are just ignorant to the world around us.

Just from a sanitary POV, I dislike the buffet setting. So, they can implement changes. But what can they really do when you look at it from a logistical aspect.

  5. You're just an idiot, plain and simple. So it is "charity" or "welfare" because we played a game that was offered by the cruise ship and the prize for winning was a free cruise. Please tell me how that is "cruise line welfare"?

Glad to know you would never win a free cruise. Hopefully you do not play bingo or go to the casino. Because if you won anything, you would be hypocritical..

Hopefully you'll enjoy the rest of your day. Happy Cruising.

  7. Doug,

A garbage plate is basically two cheeseburgers served open-faced on a pile of home fried potatoes and macaroni salad then covered with a meaty hot sauce and raw onions. There are variants to the theme but the original was created in Rochester NY by Nick Tahou decades ago. It's not unusual to order one after a long night out ("hangover food").

It may sound or look unappealing, but they taste great!

As gross as it may seem, I'll take 2.

  8. Let me get this straight. You have been a member of CC since 2001.

Yet you've been on cruises before. HMMMMMM[emoji848]

    From 2007

I have looked at GC page and can't find what I am looking for.

We are going to GC in Feb. for the 4th time and are wanting to do something different than the usual snorkel/beach/turtle farm excursions.

Has or does anyone know about renting a jeep for the day here? Is it worth the time and expense? Have we seen all there is to see in GC on the afore mentioned shore excursions?

  9. Agree it is voluntary and PW does not force you to buy.....

PW does mislead people on the value of the art in general, IMHO. For example many years ago, I did sit in on an auction one sea day late morning. Did not try the champagne though.

Anyway, the 'barker' would describe the painting, the artist, the investment opportunity, etc. Then he/she would throw out a price, a value. In the one I attended, it was $9,000 for that particular painting. Well they then offered it at $1,800 as I recall.

I sat there and asked myself, 'self, why would anyone sell something that is worth $9k for $1.8k'? The simple answer is: They didn't! In my particular viewing, the purchaser got it for $1.8k as there were no other persons interested. If there were, the price may have been bid up some.

If I had something that really was worth $9k, I would sell it in a forum that would get me $9k or pretty close to $9k. Most people would too, I think.

Now, I am not judging the pictures, or people buying them, but sometimes you get caught up in the moment and excitement. We have friends that buy paintings onboard and proudly display them in their home and get great value out of their investment every time they look at them.

So, if PW is still doing what I mention above, I would argue they are misleading in what the actual resale value would be as that is the basis for why someone should be willing to pay $x today.

  10. Our first Allure cruise a couple years back we booked a GS and upselled to a CL 2 for $700.

The next year we booked a GS on Allure and got upselled to a CL 1 for $600.

Then the next year we booked GS 14730 first year when it was still a GS before it became an A4, kept it not offered upsell, and will not do again.

    Waste of money.

Well, now that it is obvious we like the CL, we booked one for next year on the Allure and it is rather $$$ , so eagerly watching for price drops.

    Sea Ya

    NICE
