I was on a Celebrity ship several years ago that stopped there. As I recall the excursion offerings were meager at best - I think one involved bus that toured thru some golf/hotel communities.
We just got off the ship and walked around a little bit. I had a hard time finding a store that sold postcards. Needless to say, on hot day, I was quickly back on board.
Haven't felt the need to go back.,,

Something you could try - We once took a deck of cards that had a different drink on each. Friend and I would select several we'd be willing to try and then ask the bartender to pick a card. Whatever they chose, we drank.

I would think first two weeks in September, with kids starting school.

I was booking our entertainment online and all that's left at 10:30 time slots. Do they do a daytime diving show that the kids can attend?
Can only speak about Allure, but they did do a show during the day that incorporated the Madagascar characters.

Having sailed both ships - my vote would be for Allure. I like many of the features the Oasis class ships have that Freedom don't.
Not that it would offset even a small part of the cost difference - but keep in mind a boardwalk balcony does include a few perks (soda package for 2; meal at Johnny Rockets; and private rock wall climbing session).

I was and am still not a fan of the Freedom class ships (to be fair, I've only sailed on 2 of the 3). With that, I didn't think that I would like something bigger. I was wrong. Have sailed Allure twice and am booked on Oasis.
Each time I've booked a boardwalk room. Enjoy that we still have some view to the water, but also allows us to people or show watch as we like. Plus they've added a few perks that we'll use- the soda package for example
I agree that having to book the shows in advance takes away some of the spontaneity, but then again I'm generally not one for the shows. I did enjoy the aqua shows and the comedy shows.

During bridge tour earlier this month on Liberty, the officer explained that if they do have to try and land a helicopter there's a lot of preparations that have to be made. In the case of Liberty there was a line that runs from above the bridge down to the bow. The structure to which the line attaches to has to be lowered. The railings and benches on the helipad had to be removed. I think he said it took about 45 minutes to clear the space...

I take it there was no Bravo call?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Did not hear a bravo call - either at the time the incident began or during the middle of the night. While I am a fairly sound sleeper, I think my cabin mate who is not would have heard it. [note: there had been a crew safety drill earlier in the week, think when we were in Dominica, that involved a bravo announcement.]
The interesting thing to me is that at 2:30 the doors were not closed. She had left cabin and found a working restroom. At 4:30 they were closed. Yet, supposedly the situation was resolved sometime between 3 - 3:30. We thought perhaps they had tested systems...

I figured as much, but I suppose when you're in a dark hallway with emergency lighting only, and you run into a closed door, all sleepy at 2 a.m., it was probably just as easy to go back to the cabin and call guest services. :o
I would hope in a real emergency, crew members would be assigned to each passenger deck to make sure there is a clear path to muster stations.
One clarification to make here - hallway was lit, but the green emergency lights along the floor were on
I did try one handle to see if I could go thru, but didn't try to force anything. Not knowing why they were closed.
Karen was absolutely correct, except for the time - it was 4:30. I later saw the "releases" - when I was bit more awake and didn't have urgent matters to attend too. It was just kind of a "what now" moment.

So basically D+ and up got the invite, from what I gather from this thread...?

Does Brilliance have the freestyle coke machines? Trying to make a decision on the soda package and that's a factor in my decision.
Thanks in advance.

...go Ravens!....
And keep on going FAR, FAR, AWAY.
Come back when you've got 6 Superbowl rings.

For those like myself who were crazy enough about the Steelers to pay the asking price for the cruise, I've stated a roll call thread on the Brilliance page of the "Meet & Mingle" section.
Let the countdown begin!
CAPE LIBERTY (and NYC) 411-VERSION 5!!!

Does anyone have recommendations for parking at/near the Newark airport? (Searching for my parents who will be flying out of there for a European cruise.)
Thanks.
