  1. I've been experiencing this since late last week.  This is what I get:

"The page you requested does not exist.

    Error Code 1S160/2

    Contact Us

    I am signed in.

The page, saved in my favorites, is in the Friends of CC category.

I did find a post that was made on Monday by CC which I think is related to the problem  I copied it to post here but when I tried to paste it in that option did not work.

Pretty much said that they are aware of the problem and working on it.

  2. The snacks suggestion is a good one. My family, son, DIL, and 2 grandsons are GF with one also dairy free. They took several prepackaged items on cruises for port days so they had an easy way to eat without having to return to the ship. A good breakfast allowed for them to get through port time with just a few snacks. It's also nice to have a little something in the stateroom.

  3. ABC News just updated the story.

A witness claims the husband was attempting to "throw her body overboard and he was able to pull her back."

No mention of who the witness was or how he came to be on the balcony.

Husband reportedly told the FBI that he "killed her because she would not stop laughing at him."

I listened to the story twice and noted the 2 comments to make them as accurate as they were reported.

    Very sad.

  4. Hi Guys!

Reported by AP a few hours ago.

The final chapter has just been written. Captain Coward has finally reported to a jail in Rome today to begin serving his 16 sentence. His appeals have run out tho his lawyer says he will appeal to some human rights court.

Many survivors were relieved he was finally going to jail while others are disappointed that he is the only one being held responsible.

  5. Well, it is a done deal. The wreck is now in dry dock. Just found this site which I wonder WHY, just WHY none of us ever found it before. Lots of info, pictures, updates and videos.

It is amazing that none of us ever found this link when you think about all the searches we did.

Luis, thank you for all that you have done to keep us informed with links and pictures.

I would be surprised if we get any more information on Concordia now that she is out of the public eye.

Has anyone heard whether the Captain has finally started to serve his sentence? Last I heard he was still in appeals.

  6. I thought of this thread when I took the photos, glad you enjoyed them. Still a very eerie sight when sailing past on a very similar build. Its quite a manoeuvre out of where we docked to get past the remains.

Thank you for sharing your photos of the Concordia. Between the pix and the recent video, they provide a clear understanding of what is left.

G.M.T., whilst I'm pleased that the court has upheld the sentence I would imagine it will be another 6 months to a year before the final appeal is completed.

After the last few years of following this disaster our time is coming to a close. I'll take a moment here to thank all those that contributed to the recovery and removal part of this thread.

  7. luisrp, those are some nice shots of what's left of Concordia. Thanks for sharing.

Sidari, thanks for the underwater shots.

I'm not posting here much but I am still following this thread. Appreciate everyone's contributions.

  8. I was very sad to learn of his passing earlier today.

On an Alaskan cruise some years ago Commodore Ditel came into one of the restaurants and joined my table for dinner. It was a dinner filled with so much laughter and fun and the most enjoyable dinner I had ever experienced with a ship's Captain.

    Memory Eternal Cappy!

  9. Is there a way to stop this insanity?

I put him on my ignore list a long time ago.

When you guys quote him I skim through his posts just for laughs.

IMO he posts here just for responses.

Anyway, nice to see so many still posting here with useful information and pictures.

I hope y'all are off to a wonderful start to the New Year!

  10. If anyone has any connections in Giglio, kindly ask them to turn the cleanup camera to the right a little bit :) I imagine the traffic on the Giglio webcams has dropped noticeably since Concordia left the island.

Cleve was the one that usually emailed requests for cam angles. Not sure if he still checks in or not.

Thanks for the link to the Giglio website. I had removed it from my favorites so you saved me looking it up again.

  11. I think they were hoping to move the ship from the seawall to a wet dock sometime in March. It will probably take the better part of a year to remove the upper decks, make the hull watertight, and remove the caissons before they move it to the dry dock.

    Correct Cheng.

    From a prior link here:

The objective of the current phase of the reclamation project is to strip the wreck and reduce its draft so that in March the ship can be transferred from the “Porto di Prà Voltri” Breakwater to the ship repair area at the “Molo Ex Superbacino” dock.

Be nice to have advanced notice and a webcam available. I think most folks have lost interest in following this story except for a few of us.

  12. The one month is on the charge of being an "able idiot" :D

I don't really know how reliable this source is but they have provided an explanation for the 1 month part of the sentence. Seems that is for lying to maritime authorities.

On a side note, Russel finally made it back to his country and has been laid to rest. According to his brother, India did not know how to handle the situation which resulted in a delay from the time Russel was released by Italian authorities.

Then, according to a FB page by Kevin, they ran into weather issues in Turkey, which delayed the flight.
