I saw that someone mentioned you could order from a specialty restaurant in the MDR for an up charge? If my husband wanted a ribeye from Chops in the MDR what would the charge be for that? Is it the steak only or does he also order sides from there? Thanks!

The strange thing is that after looking around cruise critic posts and the web I found that Chankanaab was being cancelled across cruise lines, across many different sailings…yet you can still book the excursion directly or through a third party site. On our sailing Royal not only offered the dolphin excursion but also the general admission to the park…now Chankanaab isn’t being offered at all. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Why not just hop in a taxi and go to Chankanaab on your own. I’ve done that before. 
You don’t need a Royal excursion and it’s cheaper. 

We are traveling with our unvaccinated 8yr old…no choice but to take a Royal excursion. And yes, it is MUCH cheaper! 😖

I’ve emailed Royal to ask why but haven’t received a reply yet but they’ve canceled our Dolphin Experience in Cozumel. We are so disappointed! There are other dolphin excursions but we really wanted to go to Chankanaab because they have lots of other activities we could do…now I don’t see anything offered for Chankanaab in the cruise planner. Anyone know what’s going on? 

We are also traveling with an unvaccinated child (8 yrs) with a similar itinerary to yours and I’m also chafing at the excursion restrictions. I would normally book a private tour, do only what we want for as long as we want at a fraction of the cost! I just keep telling myself we’ll have a good time and that’s all that matters 🙂

For Cozumel I’ve booked the “swim with a pair of dolphins at Chankanaab” excursion (and hopefully have time for some lunch and a little beach snorkeling ); for Costa Maya we are touring ruins (she’s not going to be excited about that but it’s what my Husband wanted to do and it’s his vacation, too! Lol); and in Roatan we are going to Gumbalimba Park to play with monkeys and sloths and hopefully zip line and have some beach time. I say hopefully because the excursion is very short to try to cram all of that into 3.5 hrs. I don’t understand why the excursions are all so expensive and so short? If we leave at the appointed time we will be back on the ship every day no later than 1:30, sometimes as early as 12!
