  1. We are newbies cruisers about to go on the Crown in the Med in September. We would like to eat at the speciality restaurants and were looking at booking these in advance - however we realised we would need to pay upfront. Is there any advantage to doing so (other than having it already paid). Do they book out? We are keen to do it on at least one of the formal nights.

    Thanks

  2. IMO, I am not sure you really need a prefix like Mr or miss in front of their name, although that would help but it is more about how they speak and treat the staff that would be more important. There is a big difference between saying "I want .... Mr XXX." as opposed to "Can I please have .... XXX"

I was waiting for an Aussie to chime in!

In the land down under, there aren't too many people you would add mr/mrs to their first or last name (even some schools here let students call teachers by their firstname).

Totally agree about it more being about how they speak / treat the staff.

Also i think the most respectful thing you can do is address someone how they have asked you to address them.

  3. We have taken out our cruise travel insurance with Insure & Go who cover cruising and have the option for car hire cover, where it asks if you have a discount coupon insert Groupon 20 for a 20% discount, you may also care to look at 1 Cover as they also cover cruising.

If you google cruise travel insurance it will direct you to a number of companies that cover travel insurance.

    Good luck and happy cruising.

Thanks for the tip, I am looking into the same at the moment, 10 day med cruise, then 3 weeks around Europe.

Note the discount coupon or promo code needed for the first screen is groupon20 no space.
