We are scheduled for the Journey to the Antiquities cruise leaving Rome on November 15 to Athens on the Saturn. Just received our ‘docs’ today. Although there is concern about travel in the Eastern Mediterranean we are still planning on going. Any of you going on this cruise and are there any concerns? We are not new to Viking but this will be our first ocean cruise. Although there is no easy ‘fix’ to the turmoil I just hope and pray it does not escalate! Bon Voyage!

I just contacted Viking customer relations... they indicated that scenarios such as ours, where we cancelled a couple of weeks ago, ahead of Vikings announcement last nite are under review.  One would hope that they would step up and offer vouchers to make up the difference to match the 125% offer. They are slammed right now....

One would hope that they would be respectful of loyal Viking customers and give us consideration.

Also the Viking Co. in not publically traded and have indicated that they are well positioned to absorb losses and to not have to answer to share-holders... Stay tuned!

This is an interesting development....We were set sail from Barcelona to Rome on April 5... In anticipation of things going viral, we cancelled the trip via the Viking cancellation protocol and received 25% cash back and submitted a claim thru tripmate for the balance...

I wonder if we will be offered the same credit vouchers since we cancelled before this latest announcement from Viking.... What do you think?  Will likely give them a call to clarify...
