Even way before this current cruise line shutdown, we have observed numerous questionable guest behaviors & onboard procedures.  Pls don't take this personally if you still enjoy these activities, but just for us, we don't get into the hot tubs, pools, steam rooms, etc. anymore, since my spouse considers them cesspools for germs & other nastyness.  There are numerous guest behaviors that grossed us out, esp in the buffet, gym, theater, & other large gatherings.  For example:

    - buffet:  both adults & kids directly touching food items then put it back, without using tongs;  how many people touch those tongs...?

    - gym:  walking away from sweaty equipment without towel wipedown, spitting in water fountain

    - theater:  openly coughing & sneezing, etc

Sorry, these are just a very few examples of gross behaviors that really need to change, esp after this shutdown is done

So what do you think new procedures the cruise lines will implement once they restart sailing again for better sanitation purposes?

    I would guess:

    - mini health inspection, ie: temperature scanner for fever, at embarkation, instead of just paper form stating you are fever free & no flu-like symptoms

    - retrofit all ships with full hand washing stations instead of just Purell dispensers at buffet entrance

    - staff will serve you food items from behind the counter in the buffet, instead of you self-serve food items with tongs

    - limit number of persons in hot tubs, & must shower before entering

    - eliminate steam rooms

    - more antiseptic wipes in the gym

    - no more self serve ice cream dispensers, only served by staff at certain hours

    What are your ideas...?

  2. Any opinions about the differences between the Navigator and the Voyager? We have taken 4 or 5 cruises with Regent, but never on the Navigator . We have a trip planned on Navigator and just wondering how it compares cabin-wise, and any general observations. Has the Navigator been upgraded recently?

    Thanks

We have not done Voyager. We did the Navigator for the 2017 World Cruise. We were in 814 and had no vibration or noise problems. My friend did the cruise just before and was in a lower aft cabin. She said the walls vibrated and the noise was awful. The only problem was had was when our cabin flooded with water. This seemed to be a problem with several cabins during the voyage. While we were in shore they had to remove everything from the cabin, dry it out and put in new carpeting. The little snack, breakfast snack bed is very small near the computer area. You can fit only about 3 people there at a time. Other than those problems we enjoyed the trip.

  3. Thanks, T.C. For the update. Since we’re on the T.A. After the refurbishment, I feel very confident the Mariner will be in pristine shape. First time on her, after a couple on Voyager and Navigator. Can’t wait to cruise on her on our first T.A..[emoji4]

    Aloha, Laurie

People came onboard the Navigator at various points with colds and flu symptoms. It spread throughout he ship during the world cruise in 2017. There was also the Agra experience of diarrhea and stomach illness brought onboard. Some people were restricted to their cabins for 24 hours. Not enough time.

  4. I am booked for a cruise from Sydney, October 2017. Booked February 2016 and paid as demanded. Suddenly in August 2017 same cruise advertised more than 50 cabins left at less than half the price I paid. Agent would not do anything and the charting agency dismissive. What can I do? I have been on a cruise that dropped the price and operator refunded the difference. However this operator has no respect for me as a third time client!

Sometimes they will give extra shipboard credits. Ask your agent if they will at least do that for you. She may say you already got extra perks, but it is worth a try.

  5. My husband and I booked a cheap get away for just him and I in April. We booked an inside GTY because we want to spend our money on things to do, not the room. Anyway, I am interested in finding out if a Persian Garden Package is available to those not staying in AquaClass. We're also booked in Concierge Class in November (2 balconies) that will include our children and the only reason I did not booked AquaClass then is I'm not sure how much of a benefit it world be for them, as they're under 16. The upgrade isn't much, I'm just hesitant to upgrade and aside from the stateroom amenities, I'm wondering what else they may participate in. (Please, no negative comments on children cruising.....)

    Thanks so much!

On shore days you may purchase Persian gardens access. If not in Aqua Class you may not use Blu for meals. That is a plus for us going Aqua Class.

  6. We're (myself 36, DW 40) thinking of an 11 night Caribbean cruise (St Thomas, BVI, Antigua, Barbados, St Lucia, St Maarten) on Celebrity equinox. We've only previously sailed RC on Enchantment and Ovation and really enjoyed both.

We are not fussy eaters, like to relax by day at sea, explore ports and have few drinks by night ideally listening to a musician playing. Will take in a show but not be all and end all for us.

Just wondering if theres anything positive or negative people who have sailed the Celebrity solstice class could share from a royal comparison?

    Thanks.

We love the solstice class ships. We always go aqua class as we like eating in Blu and going to the Persian garden. Celebrity is a step up from Royal. We are Diamond Plus and Elite on both lines.

  7. I have not heard of that I'm afraid. I don't know what the fly is either. My phone is a new i phone, still learning to use it. Hopefully we can use the i pad or the other tablet to get some pics on here for you all to see, like I said before, I'll try my best :)

I am popping with excitement to get on board Navigator, in 5 days time :)

We go on the world cruise in January. Would love to see some pictures of the cabins. Please post some

  8. Does anyone know when the schedule will be released for spring 2017? We're looking for a cruise and see that Azamara, Princess, and Celebrity shedules are out, but nothing for Oceania.

The January 2017 cruise information and booking on Insignia opens Wednesday, July 15.
