What hank says is true; however, in recent pre-COVID time I recall reading several complaints about the San Giorgio here. In addition to the comments about refunds I think I would be very reluctant to book there.

cruisemom42!  It's been many years since I've been on the boards but it's great to see a familiar name.  So happy you are still handing out excellent advice!! Thank you for the tip on Civitavecchia.  We will be coming from Atri, Abruzzo via Assisi so the Orvieto area would be a great area to camp for one night before boarding.  Any lodging recommendations?  Absolutely must see?

  2. Wondering if anyone has recently (within the last year) a conversion van or minivan that accommodated 8 people while in St. Maarten for the day. I've gotten a quote from Hertz and Arthur's but no response from Coastal. Wondering what kind of experience you had with these agencies. Did you have all your party trek to the car rental office or can you drive closer to the port and pick up your party?

  3. Reached the 50 pound mark this week!! Feeling wonderful! Only 5 more to go and then the hard part starts...keeping it off. I leave for my Medi cruise in 162 days so that is my motivation. Wondering what others have done that has kept them successful in maintenance.

  4. We've been to Orient on four occasions and we walk up and down the beach looking for a new place but always end back at Kakao. I don't remember the price specifically for beer but appears comparable to others. I like their bathrooms and they've improved significantly since my first visit. Two years ago we had their pizza and were rather impressed. The staff are generally friendly and I find the chairs comfy. We typically get there around 9-9:30 to get front row seating. There are few topless but no nudes. We are heading down for a land vacation next week and can hardly wait!! Enjoy!

  5. Greeting from Nashville, TN. I'm seriously considering MF. I have been reading this thread and surfing the net to learn as much as I can. I'm currently on page 13 of the thread and subscribing so I can finish as time permits :D

I really need to shed a minimum of 50 lbs. Any loss between now and my June cruise will be most welcome, even if it's half of that!

    Lisa

Been there and it's hard. I did a lot of research too before I took the plunge. I haven't regretted my decision. Good luck to you Lisa in whatever you decide, either way get used to saying no!:)

  6. I agree Hap! My consult at the center earlier this week said the same thing. Up my protein by 2 ounces. That being said, I decided to cut back on the exercise this week and yesterday was down 3 from the week before. Not going to totally dismiss what I learned from the trainer just going to do it in moderation rather than feeling like I'm training for a marathon or boot camp! Thanks again!! Continued success everyone!

  7. Started with a trainer on Friday, November 1 and have only lost 1.5 pounds since then. My In-Body was positive showing the muscle weight on the rise and the fat is going down (2 weeks b4 trainer and 2 weeks with) but I paid based on the number on the scale. Wondering if I should hold off the strength training until after I've lost closer to my goal which is another 30 pounds yet? Anyone experience this?

  8. Wow. Sounds like your doing really good. Let me know what trainer says. Sometimes, you need to switch things up for a little while. If you always eat your lean and green at 5, take a few days and eat lean and green at noon. Sometimes this will kick in weight loss. I was putting red and yellow peppers on my salads, and not losing weight. Found out that was too much natural sugar for me. I was told to just eat green peppers. That was when I started to lose weight. I had been on medifast 1 month and lost 3 lbs. I was ready to throw in the towel. I thank God I didn't. This has been the best thing for me! :)

Thank you! Funny you should mention switching up the times one eats their lean and green. I figured out a while back that I saw better results when I ate at noonish rather than 5ish so have been switching it up. Trying not to be so rigid. Funny that peppers had that much of an affect. Glad you were didn't hang up the towel. I'll keep you posted on how the training goes.

  9. Your just suppose to not work out for your first few weeks of starting medifast. After that, they encourage working out.

Currently I am averaging 210 minutes of cardio (steady minutes after the first 10 minutes) walking in each week plus 45 minutes of gentle yoga. The MF center mentioned being careful not to get into starvation mode because of the reduced amount of calories I take in. I'm meeting with a trainer on Friday and have provided her with all my information and concerns. Will see what happens.

  10. Did a little happy dance today, reached my first 25 pound mark!:D Now onto the next 25.... As many of you have previously stated it's been rather easy so am hoping it continues on the same way. Thinking about stepping up my exercise but don't want to impact the losing. What has been your experience in this regard?

  11. I am not a big fan of Medifast food but there are a few that taste O.K. I was wondering about peoples' favorites. I guess the food I like best is the sloppy joe.

I agree, I have had to really work on tolerating their food. My top five are: Berry Cereal, Strawberry Crunch, Peanut Butter Crunch, Apple/Cin Oatmeal (w/one Splenda), and the Brownie Bake. I also don't mind the chicken noodle soup with a little less water and a few shakes of salt. This summer I also liked the Berry Smoothie.

Hated the Blueberry Bake, any of the chocolate shakes, and the wild rice soup.

  12. Nope you don't need a muffin tin - mix the pancake (any flavor) with the 2oz water it calls for. Some people add a dash of baking powder but I didn't today and it was still delish. Spray a microwave safe mug with a little Pam cooking spray, pour the batter in and micro for a minute and a half. It should pop right out on a plate. I topped it with a little sugar free syrup. Next time I might add a little Splenda to it and it won't even need the syrup!

Thanks again! Wish I was only 18 days aways from my Medi cruise rather than 365! :( Have a fabulous holiday!

  13. Ah for the Mac n cheese I found it helped to let it soak for awhile before you cook it. 30 minutes or so. Then cook it for the recommended time (I don't remember what it was - I didn't love the taste of it so I only got it once).

I love the pancake and just today finally tried making it into a muffin in the micro. Loved it!

Another fave is making the oatmeal into cookies. Have fun!

Thank you! Love the idea of making muffins. Did you just put the batter in a muffin tin? Or is there a trick for this as well. Stacy in MN

  14. If you like coffee then try adding 1 Starbucks Via packet (instant coffee) to it before blending!

No, I don't drink coffee. I have given up on the shakes. There are so many other options. I went in and traded my remaining shakes for some soups. I didn't mind the flavor of the mac & cheese but the noodles didn't cook. Must be a trick to it?

  15. I went on Medifast in May for my September cruise and went from 247lbs. to 200lbs. in just over 2 months......loved it and was never hungry and learned to eat smaller portion more often and am holding at 205lbs. with a few weeks to go yet....love it!

Can I ask, are you doing this on your own or through a center?

  16. I've been researching options for my journey to a healthier lifestyle since the beginning of summer. Have been seriously considering MF. Never would have thought I'd find a group on CC for this type of thing. It would be great to have like-minded people to support this effort. I'll keep you posted when I make my commitment.

Hapster I'm a schnauzer lover too!
