Alternatively, you can provide her with an old cell phone (maybe one you already have or can buy very inexpensively, probably for less than the cost of the walkies).  As long as it can connect to wifi, you can set it up for her to use on the ship.

Getting her to press the correct, 1 button on a walkie talkie will be challenging enough. She will turn 81 on the ship, and not tech savvy at all....and I already own walkie talkies.

  2. I've done that but you have to take everything off to put through metal detectors. Kind of a pain but it works

Thank You. I think it would be easier in the long run...But, we have 2 collapsible cooler's on wheels also...not sure which one to go with yet. 18 days to go....i better get it figured out soon!

  3. I bought a fold up two wheel dolly similar to this several years ago that I still use sometimes. When folded up, it easily fits through the scanner.

The attached bungee cords help to hold things in place.

Thank you Thank you Thank you....

Just bought one of these and was trying to find out if it could be used for transporting the families sodas, onto the ship!

Gonna make things so much easier!!

  4. I know Carnival Dream, Magic and Breeze all have at least three decks with open access to the bow. Others may but I have no personal knowledge.

They are public decks so privacy wouldn't be guaranteed.

The wake view from the back is gorgeous and much less windy.

Thank you for posting....I was wondering about the Magic...I Love going to the bow of the ship!

  5. Trying to choose best location for snorkeling and with whom...

Cruising on Carnival Magic April 21 - 28, 2018. Islands are Amber Cove, St Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk. Should I do excursion with Carnival or a private operator. I have done private tours on my own, so that does not bother me. I have done tours with the ship and find them rather crowded, but I would do again if best option. I have snorkeled before, quite a few times, but my 30 something daughter has not, I am looking forward to blowing her mind with an awesome snorkel experience.......so please give me your best info!!!

I have narrowed it down to either Grand Turk or St Thomas. We will be in Grand Turk from 12PM to 6PM and in St Thomas from 11:30AM to 7PM.

Thank You for any info and experience you can provide me, to make this a memorable time with my daughter!! :D

  7. I Absolutely Love your Floating Device.....what is it called? I would love to pick up one or two for my grandchildren for our cruise next year. Thank You!

We have been twice and both times the water was really calm.

There's plenty of free beach chairs down to the left and right of the pier. There will be a sign that tells you when you are "leaving" the cruise area (that's when the chairs are no longer free).

We always like to end the day at the port pool. It's a nice refreshing swim with no salt water. :D

  8. I just got off the Magic last week, and it is absolutely there on Deck 5 Ocean Plaza. They set up with a small continental breakfast in the morning, salads during lunch and of course the taste bar at Dinner.

2nd cruise on carnival....can you tell me about the taste bar for dinner? What do they serve, is it smaller portions? Thanks for any info :)
