  1. Thank You!

Either Penno's Wharf on Penno or the new ferry dock a little farther down on Penno when they complete it. Close to the town square. Everything is very walkable in the town center of St. George. Tobacco Bay is in walking distance, I always walk but some who are less mobile or if it is very hot prefer to take a taxi or shuttle to Tobacco Bay and Fort St. Catherine. There is a hill. It is about a 15 minute walk to Tobacco from the ferry.
  2. Thank you so much! Do you know where the Ferry drops off in St. George? Is it within walking distance to Tobacco Bay, Unfinished Cathedral, etc?

Yes, NCL offers a weekday free ferry service to St George's for the passengers of the Dawn and BA. The ferry closely follows the public ferry schedule for most days. The ferry docks on the land side of Heritage Wharf, and can be see when the Bermuda cam is facing HW.

  3. Hello, Did you say that NCL provides a free ferry to St. Georges? If so do you have any more information on that? Thanks! :)

I just returned yesterday from the NCL Breakaway with the 2 1/2 days in Bermuda. We are age 40-50 and had 3 teen boys, age 19. Our group wanted beaches and snorkel time..... This is what we did and they had a blast.....

Day one: Cab for 7 of us from Kings Wharf to Horseshoe Bay beach $42 each way. We had lunch on the beach @ $15 for a burger/fries/soda. Took a cab back after 5 hours there.

Day two: Cab for 7 of us from Kings Wharf to Gibbs Lighthouse @ $30 cab fare; stayed for about an hour taking pictures and spending money in the gift shop --- which is way cheaper for your 'trinkets' than any other place we shopped. Also, you can buy bottled juice/water/soda here for $2.25. We left the lighthouse and went to the nearby Church Bay beach @$13 cab fare. This was pretty awesome for snorkeling...we have so many pics of fish here. This is not a swimming-type beach...mostly good for snorkeling for @ 1-2 hours. We took the cab back to Kings Wharf @ $33 cab fare.

Day three: Quick walk over to Snorkel Park beach (we used the excursion credit onboard to pay for the admission/chairs/umbrella) ... admission is $5, chairs/umbrella is $25 ... we spent one hour here and thought it was pretty lame and wished we had joined the other half of our group. The other half of our group took the NCL free ferry over to St George's and spent 3 hours there around the town area and visited Tobacco Beach and Turtle Beach....a lot of hills and walking, but they survived and the views were ahhhmazing.

Since our goal was beach beach beach, we felt this was the best for the teens and the moms....we didn't spend a lot of money as you can see above for the 7 of us to enjoy Bermuda beaches.

If we could change one thing we would have taken the free ferry over to St. George on Day one, then go to Horseshoe on Day two, then do the lighthouse and Church Bay on day 3. Plenty of time on Day 3 to do the lighthouse and a quick snorkel. We had all aboard time of 2:30.

  4. Hello All,

We are setting sail on the Anthem tomorrow. I just checked and our check in time is 12. However we had planned to get to the cruise terminal around 11, will this be a problem? Will we have to wait until 12 before we check in? Also I am trying to figure out exactly what address to put into my gps, is Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal good enough?

    Thanks!

    Jon

  5. We've done all three. Did the Hilton back in the day when it was !15, no voucher. Nice day, small pool and beach, worth the $15. Did Atlantis twice. It was really fun, to me only worth it with older kids/adults, when you have a full day, not at a peak time, not paying a high ship excursion price. Did melia when it was the Sheraton and $25, great pools, beautiful beach, nicer than the Hilton, preferred Atlantis beach though, gorgeous.

We just ate a big breakfast, and took some granola bars with us. Ate again when we were back on the ship.

    Great thanks!

  6. Hello All,

Has anyone used resort for a day to book day passes in Nassau? Was considering booking the Malia, Colonial Hilton, or maybe even Atlanis. Would love to hear that someone has used it and had no problems before I pay. Also any suggestions?

    Thanks!

  7. Hello All,

Has anyone done the Pearl Island Beach Day with Lunch excursion? I am considering booking it since I have heard mixed reviews about the area around the cruise terminal. We are also considering staying on the ship for our day in Nassau yo enjoy the on board amenities. We originally had planned to walk to Junkanoo or take the bus to Cable Beach, but now considering the option of an RCI excursion.

  8. Just go off this cruise on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it. We went in to it knowing that we would NOT be out and about on the deck the first and last sea days due to the cold weather, but there is PLENTY to do inside! The ship has a gorgeous solarium w/ pool & hot tubs, another inside pool, the beautiful Two70 venue, and the seaplex to enjoy.

We did stand in line for the North Star on day 1, which was eventually shut down due to the high winds. However, we had already made reservations to go on it during the 1st full sea day so it wasn't a huge issue (minus standing in the cold for 30 minutes!).

It's not a cruise with a ton of activities to do in the ports. Port Canaveral is either a beach day or the space center, Cococay is another beach day, which only leaves Nassau. We spent our time in Port Canaveral at the Merritt Island National Wildfire Refuge which we liked. We didn't bother getting tender tickets to Cococay as we thought after 11:30 it would open up to those who were left and we were in no rush to get over to the island. I think due to the weather & tendering issues it opened up around 1:30 to those who did not have tickets and that's when we finally made our way over. The weather was in the 70s in all three ports which was a nice change from the snow we drove to the ship in.

If you are someone who cruises to enjoy the sun and outdoor activities, it's not a good option. Also not a good option if you enjoy ports with MANY things to do!

I am doing this cruise on the 16th and I was wondering what you mean by tender tickets for coco kay? How do you get them? Is it something you have to do ahead of time? Thanks!
