Great news!  Please keep masking as appropriate everyone, even after getting the vaccine. It is the combination of both for several more months that will stop the cycle of surges and broad community spread (including to our children).  Just because symptoms are less with a vaccine we really dont want spead to slow varients and protect children until pediatric vaccines are tested and approved.

Oh yes, we still "mask up" in public.  My husband worked in an operating room for 29 years. He was around AIDS/MRSA/SARS and a bunch of other infectious diseases.  Early on he kept telling me "people are not taking this seriously!"

  2. My husband and I live in Riverside County, just north of San Diego County.  The first month was SLOW!  But now there are more vaccines available than people signed up.  He got his second Moderna today and I got my second Moderna a month ago.  We are ages 60 and 62.  As of  4/1 people in CA 50 and over can get a vaccine.  Then ages 16 and over are allowed on 4/15.  The only way to get back to "normal" is to get a vaccine!  It is so great to not be worried about Covid when we are out and about.  I had mild symptoms the day after my second Moderna, and no symptoms after the first.

Now there are websites that make finding a vaccine very easy.  If you had a hard time early on don't give up.  Things are really opening up even in California!  Some of the sites do indicate what vaccine is available.

You're assuming that everyone that pre booked cruises before the pandemic will still want and/or can cruise. That's definitely a wrong assumption. remember you have tens of millions of people that are unemployed at the moment. Those 10 of millions definitely accounts for some of those pre booked cruises. You think they're going to still want to go on a cruise? I don't think so. Just yesterday the CEO of Delta Airlines said business won't be back to pre Covid business levels until 2-3 YEARS!!!!

I am one of those unemployed.  Never have been unemployed ever and have been on 10+ cruises.  I cancelled a cruise for 2021 and didn't hold onto the deposit, my choice.  Not saying everyone will be like me and I have plenty of savings but just the thought of the job not coming back, don't feel good about planning trips.  Also cancelled a land based trip to Hawaii.  I figure being unemployed just saved me $10,000 in travel costs.

  4. UPDATE - After I calmed down I wrote Mr. Kalish an email pointing out how disappointing it was that he obviously didn't do any research at all before responding to me. I never expected to hear from him, but today I received an email saying that they had reconsidered my claim and as a gesture of goodwill they are going to reimburse us for the $325.40 we spent on the airfare. I don't know what changed his mind, but maybe when I responded to his letter, it made him take a second look. I have always been treated very, very well by NCL in the past and it is my favorite cruise line. They have redeemed themselves (at least to me) with this reimbursement. It is not the money that makes me happy, it is that they are doing the right thing now. I was always going to cruise with them again because I love cruising with them, but now I can do it without a lingering bad taste. Thank you NCL for reconsidering.

That is great! The one person that has finally been treated properly! I am glad for you and perhaps they realized that losing a loyal customer was not in their best interest!

  5. I have a similar problem too

Norwegian canceled my Norwegian Gem 10 day cruise around 1/10. A day after i received the email, i called to cancel the booking. the booking was then removed my myNCL account. I never received an official email from NCL that i canceled my cruise. According to the email i received when my cruise was canceled, all booking would of been automatically canceled around 1/22 which is last week. Today its been around 3 weeks since i called to canceled my cruise and a wait when the booking should of been automatically canceled. I am still waiting for my refund. If i do get the refund later this week, i might have to call them up again and see whats going on.

This is so nuts! They cancelled our cruises! We then contacted them to let them know that we wanted our deposit back and officially cancelled the cruise that no longer existed! Then they claim that WE never cancelled the cruise that they cancelled on us! I have been on 10 cruises and my friend that was going with me has been on 40+ cruises and we have never had a situation like this ever! We both know we will never book NCL again!

  6. So here this latest on my $100 deposit....NCL claimed that I never cancelled even though I did on 1/10 and I have e-mails from my agent showing the cancellation. NCL said that they will process my refund now and it will be another 5 - 7 days to show up on my credit card. Now I am not going bankrupt without the $100 but this to me is proof that this company cares zero about customer service. Even with proof that I cancelled on January 10th they are saying I didn't and are just now processing my refund, three weeks later. So if I am having a hard time getting my $100 back I hold little hope for those trying to get their airfare refunded. What a bad taste this leaves in my mouth! They are dumb as the bad publicity they are generating is worth way more than my $100! clear.png?emoji-mad-1709
