  1. For us, we drove to port and left the car seat in the car. If we fly in we lug the car seat with us for airport to hotel/port transportation. In Bermuda we did take taxis without a car seat. It is completely up to you and what you feel comfortable with. We were comfortable taking taxis without car seats.

  2. Horseshoe was much larger and nicer in my opinion, but we did have a fun few hours at Tobacco Bay. I think it is definitely worth a visit if you go over to visit St George, which was really fun to walk around and have lunch.

Also, I'll add Horseshoe got really crowded. I didn't find Tobacco bay as crowded even though it is a bit smaller. We went to horseshoe first thing in the morning and left around 11:30am. It was perfect as the crowds were starting to really arrive.

  3. I like the idea of the ferry to St. George and Tobacco Bay! How did Tobacco Bat compare to Horseshoe?

  4. We just went in September with our 1 1/5 year old, so a little younger. We kept it really low key though. First day we took the free ferry to St. George. Walked around, had lunch, took a taxi to Tobacco Bay for a couple of hours. Second day we took a taxi to horseshoe bay for 1/2 the day. Then walked around the dockyard that afternoon. We actually left this day because of a hurricane, but we had planned our last day to do a boat tour right out of the dock yard for the morning. All in all we had a blast!

  5. This morning I read three forecasts for Jose.

    1 - Washington or NY

    2 - Bahamas and Florida

    3 - Bermuda

It is clear no one has a clue where Jose is going right now. Thsts anhuge difference in reports to say the least. I'm packing for Canada, Bermuda and god knows where else lol

Me too, I figure if I prepare for Canada, we will sail to Bermuda!!! :)

My optimism on going to Bermuda is fading for sure...

  6.

You are welcome and I hope you have a wonderful time in Aruba. We will definitely be back. Your villa isn't a little white cottage trimmed in green is it?

No, but now I am intrigued on this little white and green cottage???

This is the one we rented - https://www.vrbo.com/353212ha#summary

(I am not sure if I allowed to post this)

I guess it isn't that close to Arashi as I thought now that I look at the map. Some of the beaches that you listed are closer and it all is making more sense. Let me ask you, did you find the island safe? How was driving? We are renting a car...

  7. Why not keep the rooms the way they are now, but make sister guest 1 or 2 on the other room. Select UBP and SDP for that room as well. Sister will get UBP and you still will only have to split the cost of one SDP, assuming kids will eat off of kids menu.

  8. You might want to go back to that other thread and ask which ship they were on. Seems this is happening on some but not all ships. And some people have said it is a glitch and should not be free. (which is why they SELL internet access)

Other thread said breakaway, which I will be sailing on as well... this was the first I heard of this and was shocked. We had full intentions of downloading and purchasing the app for texting on board, but might hold off on paying to find out if iMessage works...

  9. I just read in another thread that imessage works and is free on board. Really, is that true? I was planning on downloading the iconcierge app to be able to text and check in with our group on board, but if imessage works and is free we will just use that...

  10. Wow, I guess I am completely an over packer... I always pack a clean day outfit for each day and almost always a night outfit for each night. Sometimes I can get away with wearing night pants twice with different tops. Do for a 7 day cruise with 1 night before I would be packing 14 outfits...

  11. Is it possible to open them yourself? Yes, I know you shouldn't, but I was just curious if it was possible? Are they locked somehow? We have never been on a NCL before and sailing in September. I am actually more concerned that they are easily opened yourself... I really don't want my unknown neighbor just popping open my balcony divider, which I know is probably unlikely, but I am just curious.

  12.

We have had OBC offer added to a reservation without cancelling and re-booking.

I called several times and was told a hard no to this. I couldn't have the OBC added to my reservation, I would have to cancel and rebook which I would then loose my perks, which I didn't want to do. One of the perks I choose wasn't available anymore. I wonder if your same perks were still available?

  13. Hi, just read through your review thus far and I am absolutely loving it. I am a total type A personality and packing list crazy as you. We are just under 60 days away from our first cruise with our toddler (not our first cruise as a couple). I have had my packing list started since we booked over a year ago. I would love to compare packing lists? Would you mind sharing? You can email it to me privately if you would like.

  14. Babies, toddlers and cruise ships as you found out are an exhausting combination. I am not a child hater, I am a realistic Grandmother. I feel sorry for the babies who belong at home in there own bed and normal routine. And the poor mom who ends up being on 24/7 alert and ends up exhausted.

I have kept my grandchildren in several occasions so that their parents could actually enjoy a cruise. Was happy I was able to do it and remember those occasional special vacations when my Mother in Law did this for us! Folks babies and tiny people just don't belong on cruise ships, leave them with grandma and enjoy a break. JMHO :)

I do respect your opinion, but I respectfully disagree with you... I feel like I will enjoy my cruise more with my child then without. JMHO ;)

You made a similar comment on my thread last year. Not everyone has parents that are still around or capable of watching a toddler.

  15. Does it ever fill? We are planning on arriving right around 12:30-1pm depending on traffic. We live less then a hour drive and have a small child that will not wait well, therefore we would like to arrive after the rush to get on the boat to be able to just walk on. My fear is the parking at the pier will fill. Ever happen to anyone?
