I enrolled in Venetian Society on Sunday June 2nd. Had my status matched but no number yet, and yes I have checked my email and junk mail and there is nothing there.  Has anyone else waited this long?

I enrolled in status match a week ago. Within 3 days I was showing status match to 100VD nights. Never cruised with SilverSea and leaving Saturday on the Ray.

Logged into to find that my profile now has a VS number!

Im all packed in a carryon only now that free laundry is in play!!

I did the status match when the announcement first came out.  Today I got a “Welcome to Silverseas” e mail.  Like you, I thought the number would be there.  It isn’t.  Oh well….no cruise planned yet.

I have not received the letter confirming my status match but I did log into my.silversea.com today to see a new drop down under the Venitian Society section labeled "Loyalty Statement". After clicking there I see my name, address and still no VS number assigned but I do see the status match information on the right hand side of the page.  Good news as my first SSea trip begins in 9 days.

We are booked on the Shadow departing July 12.  This is our first SSea cruise, and have no VS number.  We have Elite status on Celebrity, so the reciprocal benefit will be a plus for us.  Not sure if I should be calling SSea to obtain a VS number or to give my Captains Club number to add to our reservation.  Is anyone in the same predicament and how have you dealt with or are planning to deal this?   I have enrolled through the email from Celebrity that I received yesterday, but it stands to reason they would have no idea I’m booked on a Silversea cruise.

I am in the same boat but leaving on June 15. I called SSea on Friday and they said that my information is linked to my activity with both RC and Celebrity.  They said it should all be complete in 5 days.  They also informed me that I will have the shipboard benefits on my cruise on the 15th (Free Laundry, YAY).

When I called SSea, the VS represented acted as if there is now some MASTER RCG profile for me and my Husband and that the profile will now have the RC, Celebrity and VS numbers attached.  I assumed that by how she was talking and by the fact that I never told her my June 15th booking number yet she could see it in my profile while also seeing my loyalty numbers across RC and Celebrity.

Found this under my Silversea—my booking —guest information:

Please complete each section in order to submit your Guest Information Form (GIF). Green indicates “Section is complete”. If you are a new Silversea Guest, a Venetian Society Number will be issued within 4 days prior to embarkation date.

Thanks for this - I plan on calling next Wednesday which is 4 days out from our first voyage to ensure that I have a VS number and it is linked to my Celebrity and RC profiles.

Same for us.  We're on our first SS cruise June 18th.  Very much looking forward to it.

You may want to watch Gary Bembridge's review of the Yacht Club on his "Tips for Travelers" youtube channel.  MSC just looks like Carnival on steroids with a hint of meth to me.  Never been on it but the crowds appear to be massive.  Yes, the Yacht Club is a ship within a ship, but you have to come out sometime!

Agree on all accounts. We picked a short cruise to test the waters. The only time we will come out is to go to a show and apparently the Butler escorts us! We will see.

As far as Family cruises (grandkid and all), I used to choose Royal and have decided to give the MSC Yacht Club a try. I hope it is a nice experience for me and my wife and a wild and crazy ship for the young ones to enjoy.

We still like Celebrity in the Retreat for the right itinerary but we are excited for our first SSea trip in 2 weeks.

We also have a MSC cruise planed in the Yacht Club in Feb to see how that goes. The YC experience looks to be pretty amazing.

Our problem is that we are D+ and Elite+ for past cruises but also Gold almost next level on Regent, a number of days on SSea and Seabourn and Crystal.

After moving to luxury lines we try and cruise for itinerary and not to achieve a level.
So getting 10% off SSea is not likely to sway us unless all the ducks align.

Sounds like a great solution. I’m envious of all of your days at Sea.

Nahhh.. not demanding.   Actually we are pretty self sufficient... I specifically usually ask the butler not to leave food and snacks in our room.  I'm the type that if something is sitting on the table it somehow ends in my stomach.

Usually the butler stops by and tries to get us to use them more.   I'm also the type that usually prefers to run to the Barista and get my own coffee in lieu of picking up a phone and "bothering" the butler.

I knew I liked you! I’m the same. The thought of my butler taking the time to unpack for me is beyond comprehension along with all the things you mention.

My use of a butler starts and ends with keeping our mini fridge filled.

As a double Zenith, I would not be concerned if I were you.    Looks like the only benefit is an ungraded bottle of bubbly and Free Laundry.  The FAQ says many of the special events 500+ members enjoy are not included for those on Status Match.

CAS Excluded Benefits include but are not limited to the following:
    I. Complimentary Pinnacle Club milestone cruises
II. Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club amenities
III. Single supplement cruise fare reduction
IV. Cheers with an Officer onboard event
    V. Milestone recognition (Crystal Block)
    VI. Upgraded bathroom amenities
    VII. Pinnacle Club milestone kits
    VIII. Chef’s Choice amenity

I hope you are not “too demanding” 😆 for the poor staff and fellow guests on SSea! Just kidding, I thought that comment was wild and nice that you didn’t take it personally. Your posts on Celebrity have always been some of my favorites!

Free laundry means something on SSea. Longer cruises with what looks like enough B to B folks.

Laundry, for the most part, is not worth it on X. 2 day turn around on a 7 day cruise makes it difficult to use. You almost have to show up with dirty laundry to get any use out of it.

Free laundry and possibly 5-10% discounts are a game changer for us. We were loyal to RC and Celebrity when our kids were young and now we sail on Viking, Crystal and Sea Dream. Our first SSea voyage is in two weeks and we had convinced ourselves this would be a one and done but with these improvements we may book another trip while onboard.

We are carry on only travelers, especially when launderettes are available-now that I don’t have to do laundry I am giddy!

If you have a qualifying status (RCL Platinum), will the benefit transfer be applied to a first Silversea cruise? The Platinum status should the equivalent of 100+ SS days. We will be on our first SS cruise the end of July and wondering if we will get comp laundry. I've read the T&C but still am not sure.

I believe so. I am in the same boat 😊. I leave on our first cruise in 2 weeks and my call to SS yesterday confirmed that I should have the onboard benefits. If I were you I would call SS to ensure they have all of your matching details.

I have a cruise booked for Oct 2024& Nov 2025. Which had  been booked before the match status started so I have been informed that my new 250 day( previously 100+) will not apply to these bookings & only on new ones ..

If you were told this when calling in they are a bit confused. Same thing was said to me when I called but the offshore team was thinking that I wanted all of the benefits including the 5% discount. I explained I was only interested in the onboard benefits and they verified that I will in fact have those when we sail in 2 weeks

excited about this!  I am Elite on Celebrity, and will get benefits for a 250 day cruiser on SSea.  I have 28 days on SSea and 20 more booked.  May book more with the discount, especially if stackable with the on board booking discount.

This is a good business move to keep folks sailing "in the family" as they look to upgrade their experience.  It will incentivize us to keep sailing SSea rather than look at other similar lines. And maybe SSea cruisers taking grandkids might consider Celebrity with the perks available now.

This is how I am thinking as well.

@tinaincc Silversea have taken delivery of Silver Ray today and have confirmed her first voyage is from Lisbon on 15 June. You can look forward to your holiday as planned now. See you on board as we are booked on that cruise too.

Amazing!  So excited!  Hope to meet you!

  14. I am new to SSea and will be sailing on Ray in June hopefully. I am wondering how SSea goes about staffing a new ship, do they hire a completely new staff or do they pull experienced staff from other ships or a combo?
