  1. That area above the spinnaker that's being used as a games room is the old teen club.  That space was a total waste of a good area I never saw a person in it in either of the Spirit cruises we took.  That's a prime spot good to see it being taken advantage of now.

  2. Have to admit this is a bittersweet topic. Happy that Spirit has been refreshed and looks great but miss the old decor and ship as well.

love the spirit hope to sail her again!

looking forward to pictures of the galaxy of the stars whatever they call it now and the back of the ship which we really love to have drinks at leaving port

  3. One of my favorite things about the spirit is sitting on the back at raffles and looking aft. Hate to think of the view being blocked by a giant screen.

Glad we we get to experience the ship one more time before changes and yet also glad to hear they’re trying to make improvements as well.

We took a tour of a winery and then a stop in Oia and ended in Fira.  The winery stop was horrible.  Oia is time well spent.  Fira is great for sunset pics.  Bring old shoes and walk down the donkey trail to the ship.  Somewhere in my post history I wrote more on Santorini (10/18).  I wish we had more time in Oia.

Which winery did you go to?  I took a semi private tour with a small group that took us all over the island and final stop was at Santo Winery, where we hung out in the late afternoon and enjoyed the absolutely spectacular view.  I've dreamed of going back ever since and booked another trip to go back in November. Wonder if you were at the same place or another?

  5. Great pics thanks! I actually walked a bit different path to the restaurant, seeing the one you sent is a nice walk, and probably a bit more adventurous. There's a staircase in the area in front of pile gate that leads down to a back alley that takes you to the same area where they rent kayaks. I'm not sure if this link will work, but its a neat 360 degree picture on google maps that looks up the alleyway, and also down towards the water and restaurant, the fortress, etc, with some pretty stormy looking seas.

Looking forward to more updates in this thread, keep them coming!

  6. From earlier in your review, this picture of Dubrovnik - we ate at the restaurant that is marked with the arrow. It was right on the way towards the fortress. Restaurant Orhan, a family owned and operated place.

The food was great, service was very nice as well, view was AMAZING. My wife raved about how amazing the sauce was in the mussels she ordered. We spoke to the waiter about his acting role in Game of Thrones.

I'm really enjoying your review and pictures. Its really bringing great memories back and I wish to be on the Spirit again!
