Afternoon. Yes we will be on the 17th Sept sailing. Very kind of you to do some research on my behalf. The info is also good enough for me and I will rely on the ship to organise the necessary visa for our day in Egypt.

I will be onboard Niew Statendam in September and have a ships tour booked from Alexandria to the pyramids. I am from the UK. Is it safe to assume that the necessary visa arrangements will be taken care of by HAL. 

GTY - stands for guarantee. I booked a particular grade of cabin - 1B veranda state room but the website did not let me choose a room, instead I was guaranteed that level of accommodation. Approx two weeks later Celebrity allocated a specific 1B category room. This is the first time that I have not been able to select a room at the time of booking but no problem waiting for an allocation of my chosen type of room. Not sure if this is new practice by Celebrity.

This was my first time booking a GTY cabin so I have no experience. I booked a 1B and have been allocated a 1B so cannot complain. My sailing is in September so guesss that I have been fortunate with the early confirmation. I checked my reservation online yesterday to discover the allocation but also received an email this morning. I hope that (Rsquirrel) you are advised soon and that you have a great vacation.

Many thanks for all the replies. I was allocated a cabin today (two and a half weeks after booking) so very pleased. Was allocated a veranda stateroom mid ship, port side on deck 9 about five cabins forward of the lovely hump cabins ( which are probably all booked). I believe that this will be a very suitable cabin and am not looking to change.

Have just booked a cruise on the Silhouette sailing in September 2018. I have booked a verandah stateroom 1B guarantee. On my 5 previous cruises I have always been allocated a stateroom at the time of booking. Perhaps things have changed and current practice is to book a type of cabin rather than a specific cabin. Can anyone please advise when staterooms are allocated.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my thread. I am happy that I will automatically receive a 30 day UAE tourist visa upon landing in Abu Dhabi airport. I am due to arrive on Saturday 26th November and have two days in Abu Dhabi before joining the ship. Good to know that the ship will organise a visa for Oman for our our one day visit there. I hope that you are currently enjoying the cruise.

We are cruising on the Constellation on Nov 28th from Abu Dhabi, visiting Dubai, Oman and India. We have multiple entry visas for India but no visas for UAE or Oman. We are flying with Etihad from Edinburgh to Abu Dhabi and my understanding is that we will receive multiple entry tourist visas on arrival (we have British passports). We have booked a ships tour for Oman and I am assuming that the ship will organise the necessary visa. Any advice or help greatly appreciated. In particular is the obtaining of a UAE visa on arrival quite a smooth and quick process.
