We were there last month and you can do both. Be warned though, if you are going for the drinks be prepared that they are almost zero alcoholic. I do not drink very often and had 10 drinks, including a long island, and at no point did I get any alcohol in my drinks. We are actually looking now for an excursion here for next year and are going to skip this place.

Thanks everyone! You guys helped tremendously! We had a feeling the larger ship would be better for the 18 year olds. Our 12 year old could make friend with a tree. LOL!

We are in the process of planning my son's graduation cruise. We will have our 12 year old daughter, 18 year old son, and his friend. Since this cruise is all about the kids, which ship will have more to do? We took the Freedom 2 months ago with no kids and we loved it but I'm worried it won't have as much to do.
Anyone been on both? Pros and cons? TIA!

My husband and I did the tequila, snorkel with guacamole excursion. They gave us 4 thimbles full of their different tequilas and they made the guac in one huge bowl and everyone grabbed chips and dug in. Gross. We were very disappointed and wouldn't book it again.

We were on deck 9. I will say that we generally prefer decks 6 or 7 on any class with a promenade and close to stairs/elevators. From the looks of it I think you're about as close as you can get to the stairs! It does look interesting though...please come back and tell us about it!
We tend to bounce around, but I've never booked an interior room. I used to think that if the ship went down I'd have a better shot at surviving with a balcony. Now that I've taken a few cruises and realize not all boats go down like the Titanic, I'm a little more confident in an interior room. LOL! Plus, it gave me more spending money for in ports. Which will be my justification for jewelry. hahhaha #winning
I always like to be near elevators and stairs for faster to fun! I'll make sure to post pics and reviews!

I can't comment on that particular room but my sister recently had 3 of the newer balcony cabins on deck 12. If that cabin has the same decor (as I would assume it would) it's very pretty! Lol, I'm sure that's not what you want to know, but their cabins were very nice w/ muted color scheme and a pop of navy blue. Also, the new more streamlined furnishings made the cabin feel larger.
Oooh! I hope my room is like that! I'm not really picky but it looks so oddly placed. Mostly curious. Thanks for the tips!!

And the list goes on

DS Dear Son/Sister
DB Dear Brother
SO Significant Other
DM Dear Mother
DF Dear Father
MIL Mother in law
FIL Father in law
SIL Sister in law
BIL Brother in law
When were these codes first used?
I know longer than 13 years. I used to be a member of a military spouses group set up very similar to this and we used them then.

Has anyone seen this room and thought, what a weird location for a room? ;p

Looks like they are going to start charging. Really a bummer. I've always sailed Carnival but wanted to try RCC. I've had a lot of people warn me about RCC nickel and diming cruisers.

I'm thinking right of the 7. I wouldn't think they would put a doorway next to the main stairs.
When I look at the map they make it appear as if there is a wall to that side. That's what is throwing me off.

Hopefully someone will eventually wander by with this room. I'm curious.
I'm wondering what side the door opens to as well. Silly, but it's such an odd placement for a room. lol

No one!? :loudcry::loudcry:

Has anyone stayed in the newly added room 6137? What did you think?

Thus far I have only cruised on Carnival, but I have seen some very cool things with Royal. I mean, WORLDS LARGEST SHIPS, but other things seem to spark my interest.
Those of you who have been on both, what are the pros and cons and reason to maybe, and I mean maybe, switch to the dark side and go on Royal.
I have always cruised Carnival as well with our families (2 kids). My husband and I booked a week with RCL this summer without the kids to see if it's worth the extra money. We have been going back and forth for years. I'll come find this post when we get back! :)

I just got off the Valor in January and when booking our next cruise specifically wanted another boat. We liked the Valor but we've been on it twice and wanted a new boat. I'm a little bummed.:(

I got my email this morning. I'm not going to lie. I'm a little bummed. I've been on Valor twice and specifically didn't want that ship for my next cruise. Although, I am glad to not be stranded in the ocean on the other one either! :D

Every time my family cruises we cost compare with RCC and I've never been able to just go for it and spend the extra money. We've always had fun and never regretted it so I can't say whether it's worth the extra money.
For Galveston though, my best friend and I planned a girl's trip for next March and created a spreadsheet of all the ports with sail dates in Mar/Apr including flight cost (her from Charlotte and myself from Dallas) and it was a lot cheaper for us to sail from Galveston.
We went on the Breeze a few years ago and I didn't like it as much. In the past I didn't feel like I was on the ship with 2,000 other people, with the Breeze I felt like there were 2,000 people on the ship.
