  1. We did the TA this year on the Carnival Freedom and came back on the Pride, spent 24 days touring Spain, France, Germany, Austria and Italy. Had a great time on Carnival and would do it again in a heartbeat. The crowd was older than a typical short cruise, many on gambling trips. Check out the “live” thread by @jam19872016 as has been previously mentioned, he did a great job describing the experience. You will have a blast btw!

  2. Thanks for the replies.  The pictures below better explain what I am talking about.  On the summary page you see available "prices from..." and that the suite category is sold out.  On the next page you see the actual prices available and that all categories except for 1 is sold out.  I understand the short notice and that the higher prices are probably accurate however the summary page does not reflect that.

  3. Looking for a cruise in the Feb-Mar '24 timeframe and saw several out of Mobile, Galveston, etc. and the filter w/dates shows available pricing but when selecting the cruise to purchase entire categories are not available and the available pricing is over 2X what was on the summary page.  Is this normal?  I don't recall ever seeing this in the past.  Thanks

How's the weather on your return crossing? We definitely were reminded how lucky we were on the way over, it's been much rockier and ugly out than the crossing over.

    Grand Turk? How exotic 🤣

Weather seems close to what you have experienced, definitely rockier than the first leg but really not that bad. It did become overcast today so maybe some rain coming. Warm though.

  5. Hey there cruiser!  Continuing to enjoy your adventures!  We are on our trip heading (long way) to Rome to catch the Pride on Oct 28, currently in France.  We spent a day in Barcelona before heading out and ended up walking about 9 miles as the boss doesn’t do underground (metro) even though it was a straight shot back to the hotel and I wasn’t able to flag a cab.  Based on your description she was probably right, and we needed the exercise!  We bought tickets to the Sagrada Famila in advance and got in.  Waaay too many people but did enjoy the visit.  We have bought tickets for only a few other sites for the next few weeks but not trying to do too much as we want some flexibility. Enjoy your time in Barcelona!

  6. Hey, really enjoying following along your journey, finally got caught up.  We will be on the TA to Barcelona with you, will be interesting to hear from you how the cruisers differ on the TA vs. the 5 day cruise!  I’ve heard that there are many Plats and Diamonds on this cruise (and these type of cruises in general).  This will be our first cruise as a Platinum as well.

  7. Just wanted to follow up and share that we had a great cruise.  We did bring two small fans but ended up not needing them, our room temp was fine throughout the cruise.  We did hear of other passengers complaining that their room was warm so like anything there is variability and it just depends, so being prepared is probably the best plan.  Looking forward to our next cruise in March '23.  Happy Cruising!

  8. I have read many, many posts and have not seen this question answered, and the port website leads me to believe that you can't "reserve" parking for your cruise in advance.  We  have only cruised out of Galveston and there we reserve and prepay for parking a few months in advance, so no worry about having a safe and convenient place for the car.  Can you do the same for the Port of Miami (at the port) parking or do you just show up on the day of departure?  We are cruising out of Miami late March '23.  Thanks in advance and I apologize if this has been answered, I didn't see it.  😀

  9. The only issue for me was matching the test date and time.  Our eMed test uses GMT time and the first time I tried to load it I used our local time.  Which is the same time, just a different time zone.  The next attempt I used the GMT time as it is printed on the paperwork and it worked just fine.  Still printed out all the paperwork though, just in case.  lol

  10. I would think with anytime dining they could still accommodate your group.  Link your reservations and check in using the app, when you check in list the party size and they will let you know when the table is ready.  It may be a little longer than normal but I would think Carnival sees this all of the time.

Congrats on 50 ("+") years, very excited for you.  Nice to take the gang with you, we are celebrating 40 years on our upcoming cruise, very excited about it!  😊

I'm an expert, just got out! I was on the Magic last week. Felt very sleepy Saturday and woke up Sunday with aches and pains and other symptoms. I, being a responsible adult, called to get tested. A nurse came to my room and did the test, they requested I stay in the room until the results but it would be fast, within a1/2 hour.

    It was positive.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and I am sorry your cruise was affected but it looks like Carnival is trying to take care of those that get sick as well as protecting the other passengers.  I didn't know about future credit but that is good customer relations.  Hope you are feeling better now.

Thanks everyone for your responses.  I didn't get a chance to call Carnival today but will post when I do.  Really appreciate the info!

  12. I will call Carnival tomorrow and post what they say as someone in my traveling party is quite anxious about this.  Does Carnival still send you to a different room to quarantine if you contract covid (interior, no windows, etc.) or will you be able to stay in your booked cabin?  I'm asking about their current policy and practice only.  Thank you!

  13. I may be in the minority here but I have found the coffee on the Freedom (late 2021) and the Vista (2022) to be much better than in the past.  And that is for room service, Lido deck self service and the MDR.  I use french vanilla creamers so discount my input accordingly!  Other ships may vary!!  LOL  🙂

  14. Just wanted to get some input from recent guests on the Dream.  We are scheduled for an 8 day out of Galveston in late August for our 40th anniversary, looking for some tips, recommendations, observations if you have sailed recently.  How is the temperature? (Boss wants to know if she needs a fan); Steakhouse; MDR observations; etc.  We have sailed on the Breeze several times and love the ship and I believe the Dream is similar, any differences to note?  Thanks all and happy cruising!  😀
