  1. We were going to be cruising with our 7yo granddaughter on the MardiGras in October.  Our April 2020 cruise got canceled too many times to remember (6-7 times). We kept booking because this was her reward cruise from graduating therapy due to trauma from her mom and mom's felon boyfriend. So we kept booking to keep giving her a date to look forward to.

Welp, we applied for the exemption, bought their travel insurance and we got cancelled yesterday. No choice to rebook and keep our on board credit, just cancelled and you will receive a refund shortly.

Bummer 😞 We were willing to jump through all their hoops too.

Oh well...I had a feeling it would happen. Off to a fun trip to Disney perhaps now (our flights expire in November too so we need to take her somewhere!

Good luck!! I hope you get to cruise.

  2. Was down 2lbs this week. Making it a total of 5.9 for 3 weeks.

Had a cheat day yesterday. Visited friends in Denver and ate at our favorite Mexican places. Lots of salt. I got on the scale and was up 2 lbs today. Haha. Ooooops!!

I have work to do to get it off by Friday weigh day!

  3. I haven’t posted in forever. We are dying to go on a cruise right now. Our first cruise was a year ago.

We Moved from Iowa to Colorado in August (hubby), November (me and our adult son who lives with us) and the final move in January when the house sold. We are in an apartment as of now, while we wait for our house to be built. Will move again July or August when it’s complete. Then move the kids and our 3 yr old granddaughter in with us when our lease expires on Halloween. Our daughter graduates college in May and moves back home in the summer.

This is it, I’m done. It’s our final home!!

So. We booked a cruise in December to celebrate our daughters college graduation. We want to go cave kayaking in Belize, so we are working on getting healthy and in better shape.

I started 2/9/18 and am down 3.9lbs. I figured I’d post here for accountability.

All of you who get to cruise soon, I’m jealous!! Have fun.

Good losses to all those who lost weight!!

  4. Aratski.. I'm so happy for you. Know you wanted

to move and to go back to where there's family is

    a bonus.

Good Luck in selling the house fast. When does the

    new job begin?

He starts August 7th. I'll follow when the house sells. The housing market is moving pretty fast here. I'm hoping ours sells quickly. I don't want to live apart for too long. Gotta complete our list of items to get the house ready to sell before we list. Up at 6 today and will be working the day away pounding it out!!

  5. I stayed the same.

Got good news to share. My husband just accepted a job offer from an old friend in Denver. Hubs will be the engineering manager in their Colorado Springs, CO office. He's switching it up, going to work in the private industry now. This city has been too much. Done with government for now.

We've lived in/around the Denver area for 12.5 years prior to moving to Iowa. Looking forward to getting back there. Near my family and our granddaughter. Quite excited. Although, got the stress of selling this house and packing.

Good times ahead and hopefully a more healthy active lifestyle and make more relaxing [emoji41]

  6. I stayed the same. I'll take it. I've done some emotional eating as of late. Had my in laws in town, been at odds with my boss this past month, she tried taking my breaks and other staff's breaks away so being that I do payroll, I had to go over her head, which she didn't appreciate, then this week she cut my hours and cut a part of my job duties out, plus the hubs didn't make final round in the Texas job. Guess it's not meant to be. I know something will come up. I need patience!

  7. Aratski welcome back. Glad you had a

good cruise. Yes it's water gain, at least

most of it. You'll get it off fast.

Good Luck to your husband. Where is the

job? Know you want to move.

    Thanks. Already down a little.

The job is in Texas! (Closer to a cruise port-haha)

Today was our first day back, and we don't want to be there. Tired of the good ole boys club mentality. I am praying he gets the job.

  8. I was on my cruise and gained 5.2lbs. [emoji33] I bet some of it is water weight, we'll see what I weigh in on Thursday.

Hubby made it another round, semi finalist, for the job interview. His next step was he had to log into a website and record answers to 3 questions. Didn't know the questions beforehand and had 30 seconds to come up with an answer. Then had 3 minutes to talk and it cut off and moved on. If he makes this cut he'll be a finalist!! Hoping and praying he gets it!!

Congrats to all those losers! Way to go!

  9. I'm still around...still maintaining too. My cruise is Monday, we leave Sunday to FLL. Looking forward to getting away.

Hubs is applying for jobs elsewhere, hoping we can get the heck out of this City sooner than later (hubs is the city engineer and has a license to protect). It's a toxic environment with a good ole boys club mentality. Hard place to be! After 3.5 years here, we are tappin' out and calling it quits!

  10. Awwww, Shootr your photos are great. You and your wife look great.

Belle, we moved to Roseville, a little Northeast of Sacramento. We love our new house.

Still haven't found my scale. Got a free pass for a gym so going there. Also walking around the neighborhood.

    Take care all.

    Diana

Sorry to hijack this, My DH was born in Roseville grew up in Folsom!

    Nice area!

  11. Don't give up.

I think you're making excuses about the swim skirt not fitting and trying harder after your next cruise because you're frustrated and not seeing much progress. But I think we both know that you really want to lose the weight, otherwise you would not have tried in the first place.

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep going—even if you slow down a bit and lose weight at an easier pace. Losing 10 lbs over six months is still better than throwing up your hands and saying you'll "try again" at some undetermined later date that we all know will never come.

I know it's daunting because significant weight loss takes a long time, but that time is going to pass regardless. Even if it takes three years—at the end of those three years you'll be saying "I did it!" instead of helping even more hopeless over all the time wasted.

Thanks for the pick me up.

I have lost 20 over a year an a half. And I know. Losing really really slow means better chance of keeping it off for good.

  12. Hello Friends,

Hubby and I are really busy so couldn't start the thread this morning. Actually, haven't shared this but we sold our house and are moving.

We live in wine country in CA We are moving to the Sacramento area. Buying a much bigger, new house and have a hefty profit from the sale.

I lost the 1 lb. I gained last week. But, uh-oh, the scale is packed. We are moving into the new house next Thursday so not sure I will be able to post.

    Hope everyone did well. Diana

I grew up in Folsom, CA. Hubbies family still lives there. Nice area! Good luck with your move!

  13. I got the wrong dessert menu one night....it had bitter and blanc on it. I was super excited, thought 'yay...I've read so much about this...I know what I want'. I knew it wouldn't be an option tho...but played it up anyway. Everyone at my table was thinking I was crazy when I was joking with the waitress...until I showed them my menu. The waitress took my menu back and gave me the right one! Sad day! Couldn't even get it if I tried begging!! Haha

  14. We stayed at the Hobby airport at Holiday Inn. I used Priceline and their Express. The hotel was partially under some renovations, but we got it relatively cheap...55 before taxes. No continental breakfast tho...

They had a nice service where you could take a shuttle within 2 miles of the hotel for free. When we used priceline express bids for our post cruise hotel, we got La Quinta and it was like $100 (and that was the cheapest I could find then)

Good luck with your travels, have fun cruisin!

  15. Trying to drink the recommended amount of water for a human is very difficult. I've never peed so much in my life D: But it does reduce my hunger significantly as long as I drink steadily throughout the day.

Have you tried to mix it up? I like the Sparkling ICE fizzy flavored waters. They are GREAT and I get water in and it's my 'water treat' Haha:')

I was down .3 lbs today. Was down more yesterday but when logging in an appraisal and prepping it, the owners last name reminded me of a great Mexican place in CO. We haven't had Mexican in a while...sooo off to El Ranchito last night. I think my taste buds did a happy dance in my mouth with the chips and salsa. The food....mehhhhh, Iowa just doesn't do Mexican food right! Only ate half my dinner tho...but gained some weight because of the salty food!

    Good luck everyone!
